I was on my friends rooftop sun deck which is on the 3rd story of his home.
I had my camera and Xhaler (the one time I have put it down) on a small table near the railing.
My friend swung his leg over his chair to get up and get a beer and WHAM! He knocked over the table and my XHaler and camera (Nikon D100) went sliding through the railing off the roof to his pool deck/rock garden below.
"My e-cig!" I yelled... and he was like, "Dude. Your camera...oh my god..I'm so sorry.."
"..&#@! the camera... where is my e-cig?"
My XHaler survived with only minor damage - It appeared to bounce off a big rock and then whacked the pool deck. There is a divot out of the delrin cap and a ding on the edge of one of one of the adapters. I buffed the delrin cap to get rid of the jaggies. The vinyl covering has a few minor scratches.
Sorry for the crappy pics.
My 105mm Nikkor-VR Macro f2.8 was sacrificed in the fall. The D100 actually hit a bush before bouncing onto the deck. The lens is toast but the camera body appears okay. It was time for service on it anyway...
