still curious about the DMM, can I get that through madvapes?

DMM = Digital Multi Meter. You can get one at radioshack, walmart, any auto parts store, or yes indeed at madvapes. The other thing that is handy to have for checking battery voltage and even load voltage (how much voltage is produced when the atty or carto is fired up) is the volt meter madvapes sells (out of stock right this moment, but they make some every week).

Like Six said, they are available at LOTS of places, and vary from $15 at Walmart to hundreds of dollars for the high end units.

My RS was not hitting consistent because of poor contact between spring and atty connector.

I replaced spring w/ a wire last May and it has been working perfect since.

I also used a little RTV and it has not leaked a drop.

Nice Mod.

Bump to another great thread. Today I was all set to buy a new charger and some 3v bats for my Silver Bullet untill Madvapes had to go and force me to buy a new Maxi RoughStack V2. So now I have my eGo, Silver Bullet and a mess of 510 stuff plus a 6volt machine that I know on good athority is no lemon.

Some things I like about RS:
Top mount switch has never fired in pocket.
Can actuate switch w/ any finger.
Circuit board is simple enough for caveman to build.
Can buy replacement switch from MV or very cheap on ebay.
Most complicated part is atty connector.
I can see this thing working for years to come.
2 amp switch handles dual coil at 3.7v.

Digital Multimeters for the commoner can be found at Harbor Freight for around $5, and a dollar less when they're on sale! Now if you want something short of an oscilloscope and to pay over $50, that's another story.

I picked up a few HF DMM for about $3 each.
One failed quickly.
Most inaccurate DMM I've ever seen.

The $5 black friday craftsman DMM is much better quality.

When I got my Roughstack 2 as soon as I placed batteries in and screwed the top on with the atty attached it would fire. I realized the solder on the circuit board was the same height as the trace to the spring so I had to add more solder to the center connection to add height for the neg side of the battery and it worked. I also had to replace the short plastic tube that isolates the spring against the body on the circuit board. I cut a piece of a 12 gauge .... connector I had in my tool box from my car audio install days. Good simple big batt mod that's very diy serviceable.

It's positive side down on the RS2.

That's Strange.

I have a RoughStack V2 and it would short circuit if I put the positive side down.

been using mine pos side up. I don't think directionallity should matter.

It definitely matters on my RS because the center solder blob is lower than the remaining solder traces.

Both solder traces will contact the batt neg; bypassing the switch.

For kicks I mounted batt upside down.

As expected the switch is bypassed and atty fires until atty is removed.

I don't advise mounting batt neg side up.

I have a few of them, and they take a long time to charge but vape very nice, last for about 3mL worth.

Sometimes, more often CE2s, they run a little cooler with near as much vapor as the DCs

I ordered these batteries, and let one charge for what felt like the majority of the day and the light on the charger still red, it does turn green when fully charged correct? I took it off the charger as I was leaving the house, I never trust new batteries on chargers while I'm out.
