The mailman came with my new stuff! I'm so excited and a bit overwhelmed.

I have the Riva kit that came with 2 batteries, 2 atomizers, and a cone. Also, the charging stuff and some cartridges. In addition to that, I got some cartomizers and a drip tip.

Now what? I only have 2 juices right now and they are both 100% VG. I have others on order, but they aren't here yet.

I am charging the first battery, and if I read correctly, it needs to charge for a solid 8 hours. Then I get to play for 20 minutes and then recharge for an hour.

In order to play, I'll need to know what to do with all these gizmos. Can someone point me to a thread or the best youtube vid to get started here?

I couldn't wait to try at least one of the products, so I dripped some juice into a Duo cartomizer and it's yummy!

Thanks for any and all info yall can provide. :)

1. good news is you don't have to charge the batts longer then the charger turning green.

2. blow out the atomizer into a paper towel until no liquid comes out...some don't have any so is ok to move to 3.

3. attach the atomizer to the battery and drip 5 to 6 drops into the atomizer...wait a few minutes.

4. attach the drip tip to the atomizer.

5.start vaping...when the hit starts to get weak...add 3 more drops of juice down the drip tip....repeat step 5

Thank you, MTV. I didn't know I could use this without a cartridge of any sort. Makes home vaping pretty awesome.

Also, on this manual battery, do you hold down the button the entire time you inhale?

I found out here how to fill the cartomizer (which seems more conducive to away from home vaping) and have one of those ready to go.

I just wish my order of liquids would hurry up so I can have lots to choose from. :)

Yes, hold the button down the entire time.

Pry the little end of the cartomizer. But be careful! If you put something in too deep you can damage the filler. Tilt the carto and drip juice in, 10 drops. Shake like a thermometer. And 5 more, etc. You should be able to get around 25-30 drops in. It might take longer for you with 100% VG juice.

Or condom method- Fill the little end cap that was on the cartomizer about 1/2 way with juice. Slowly push the battery end down into the cap. Top off with more juice. Wipe off the battery end.

Make sure not to let the cartomizers get dry or they will burn and then they have to be thrown away.

Also.... the kit came with some blank cartridges. Why do I need these? If I am able to just use the atomizer and drip or a cartomizer...why on earth do I need a cartridge?

Your other question regarding charging - I believe they were old instructions. New batteries don't have to be charged 8 hours when you get them.

Some people use the cartridge. There should be a little piece if filler in there. If not you can purchase some or there are mods available. Basically you put juice into the cartridge, attach it to your atomizer and place that on your battery. It's just another way that you could vape if you want to. It's a good way to test juice. That and dripping. Some people seem to like the atty/carts. I'm not a fan but lots of people do like them. I think it's a little messy and inconsistant and it doesn't hold as much juice as a cartomizer. People that like it think it tastes better.

The latest and greatest for the Riva 510 and other eGo type models, is the mega dual coil cartomizers, aka emdcc. Get'em at Mad Vapes. One problem with them is the center battery connector post needs to be pulled up, or get a couple of the shorty 510 extensions. Advantage is they're so large they don't have to be filled everytime you turn around.

If you have cartridges aka carts - they stick into the atomizer. You add juice to the stuffing, as much as it will take and look damp, but not a puddle. You will probably have to add juice very slowly with Vg juices. They move slowly. You may need to thin them with a few drops of distilled water if too thick.

If you have cartomizers, those are combined disposable 1piece cart with internal atomizer coil and they screw right onto the battery. I usually use thin juices in those, 20% or less VG. They have to be fully damp, then kept damp as you vape. Since the stuffing is pressed against the coil, if spots get dry you can singe them. Low resistance (hotter) cartos will singe more easily. I am pretty sure you will need to thin VG to work in most cartomizers and even then it may not move well enough through the stuffing to keep it all damp.

Welcome to Rivas! I love them. I got 3 more in today too. I use dual coil Cartos on mine. The idea with the carts is to have more time to vape over having to add drops so often. Cartos are more convenient when out and about. If your a chain vaper, you may find you need to keep both Rivas going at once to avoid over heating, in which case you may want to invest in a 3rd battery. ITs also a good idea if you should lose use of one too. Depending on your vg juice, you may be able to use a syringe and needle to fill the carts and cartos more quickly and easily. Also nice with this method is you can vape as soon as it is filled, vs waiting for saturation of fibers.
If your Riva came from LF, they are good to go without charging first. I called LF when I got mine to confirm. You will also find this confirmed by them on their supplier forum thread.
