Aight first off.. just picked up an ecig on Thursday and prob like over 80% of the noobs here just picked up what was available without shopping or researching as much as I should have.

Starting this to get myself off of analogs for good.. I was a HEAVY smoker 2-2.5 packs of day for about 20 yrs.

The model I picked up was what claimed the salesman a E708..

I have read a lot of the reviews on other setups.. and still not totally sure what would be ideal for me. so I'm def open to suggestions. Mainly the battery life of this thing is non existent and the vape is real low. any suggestion.

I know it is asking a lot but I am looking to order tonight or tomorrow night. This coming weekend I have a camping trip and I know that will be a bad weekend for leaving the analog world behind as there is 0 power where I will be located. so would like to be loaded up for a recovery when I do get back to the real world.. So far this pos has taken me from 2-2.5 pack a day to less than 10 in 4 days time. so I'm stoked.. wife is stoked.. ya'll know the deal. thanks in advance for any advise on a more reliable e cig.

Have you read http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/ecf-library/36180-wonderful-world-vaping-illustrated-guide-e-cigs-part-1-6-a.html?

The 2 most popular are the 808 and the 510. 808 is a cartomizer type, the cartridge and atomizer in one and the 510 has separate cart and atomizer. These 2 are popular mostly because they give the biggest "bang" for the buck.

I like the 510, but the standard batteries are too small for the amount of vaping I do. I use a box mod that uses an 18650 battery that will last me at least 2 days. A standard 510 battery lasts me just over an hour. When it comes to batteries, bigger lasts longer, smaller discharges quicker.

I started with a standard 510 kit and made my own box mod. There are plenty of mod suppliers on here.

Your real task is not picking the configuration of the hardware, it is finding a flavor that is satisfying and enough nicotine to kick the cravings, but not so much to give you headaches, stomach aches, and/or hiccups.

With your heavy smoking and desire to have a long time between charging, a battery mod seems your best bet. I think the hit from a 510 atomizer is great, others will have their opinion.

Good luck!

Part 6 goes over some mods. The whole series is great stuff.

There is a thread on doing your own battery mod Battery Mods - E-Cigarette Forum.

Then again, you might want to visit the lower capitalized mod vendors at http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/modder-accessories-supplier-forum/. The parent thread of this one has the higher capitalized vendors and they also have some great mods.

I lean toward The Precious, awaiting delivery, and the Saber Touch because the switch has no mechanical parts and they take big batteries. I like the idea of a switch that is nearly impossible to wear out...

Had the same nasty habit, 2 to 3 packs a day. I started my e-cig journey with a standard 510 kit and a 901 kit. The 901 is now gathering dust and the 2 standard 510 battery's are reserved for emergency's. The batteries on both standard units only lasted me an hour before needing a recharge. I had batteries hanging from every outlet and USB port in my house. Still, I DID kick my habit! Save some frustration and get a big battery model, an eGo, Silver Bullet or Chuck at least to start with, for heavy ex-smokers you need lots of power (or lots of outlets).

Be sure to monitor you nic level as well, I'm doing fine on 24mg and am starting to go down to 18mg after 3 weeks.

Just my :2c:

Good Luck!!!

Is very true. A real man needs support. Quote my brother-in-law, cause I wore boxers. If you've got a Blu. . .give it to someone you know that still smokes tobacco. I'm going 510 atty and a bigger battery. And if I was going campin for a weekend. . .Auto charger, maybe half dozen batteries, same for the atty's, (they're small), and nuff juice that there would be no possibility I'd run out. JMHO

My God, I just love readin this board. I've never laughed so hard in my life. Batts hangin from every outlet in the house. I wiped tears from my cheeks and my sides just ached. I love you guys/gals.

Cheers,

thanks for all the input guys.. just pulled the trigger on the tornado. I've been liking what I've seen on the 510's so the 510 atty on a big batt seems to make sense to me.. without having to mess with a batt mod.. although still going to do a unit with a batt mod just cause :) every item I own has been modded in one way or the other.. so might as well right.. hmm for these camping trips.. gotta figure out how many hours I do actually spend out there and what size batt box need to be set off to the side.. don't think I'd want to hold onto it all the time..

thanks again for the input and see ya'll around the forums....
