Hey, Cbrite, love seeing your posts. We started about the same time, and I'm glad we are both hangin' in! When I see how much you have saved, I wish I had smoked more expensive cigarettes, so my savings would be as large as yours.:D

Just move on up here to Western PA where cigs are $7/pack. That is a good enough incentive to quit--although it sure took me long enough to do it!! I watch your posts, too, btw. I always feel like it is an old friend when I see you post.

So anyone of you curios folk that have made it this far in reading the testimony of so many
ex cigarette smokers need to understand that this vaping thing is not a fad its a real alternative to
continue a habit with out so much harm to your lungs and general wellbeing. whether you will live longer or not
is a question of fate and destiny. But
I will say that you have a choice to lessen the affects of big tobacco on your inevitable demise lung disease
or cancer, living with an oxygen bottle until you succumb to ineffective exacerbation of the lungs, then your dead.

HEAVY you bet so get it in to your head and make a change ..

Regards Peter

P.S Be careful you don't get run over by a bus while jogging with you new found health, bugger :-(

Say no to imphasima

Yep, 43 years with, and now 1 year without. Feel better, smell better (sometimes), do better (sometimes).
Now, what is the cure for the shiney new vape toy addiction that I've gotten since beginning vaping. LOL

Buy em till you don't want more. Worked for my previous shinyitis addiction (flashlights).

No Kewl Banner yet but
19days cig free and not going back (unless my gov't bans vaping and then only maybe)

hmmmm, now what to do with these 5 packs leftover in my last carton...

I had only 7 cigs left. I put them in the fridge after 4 days as a justin-case. Took me about 2 weeks to throw them out.

Since yours are unopened packs, I'd say give them one by one to homeless people begging for a smoke. Just make sure it's not one of those you cross on your path often else you'll be stuck with a new best friend. Also, I'd blow a big cloud right after to make sure the point comes across that I've quit and it was a one-off. They have great memory for faces since their life is led by regulars.

You could also give one to each person you know still smokes and blow a big cloud in their face at a party. Just sayin'...

HaHa, yeah I was keeping them close that first week. Kept em in the pocket when I left the house those first couple days. The transition to not carrying with me when I left the house was interesting. A little nervous that first time, and then no looking back. Felt so good not to want or need them... still does. Not walking out the door with them on purpose for me was that "cutting off the ball and chain" moment for me.

I've got smoker buds (so I guess I'm supposed to call them stinkers now?) to give them to but ive got mixed opinions about it. "Here take this death but I think you should not smoke them and start vaping".

Yes, leaving home without a single smoke on you is cutting the first chain to the ball and it does feel great to not miss them. I'm sure the average is about a week before leaving home with vape only. The second chain to the ball is getting rid of any stinkies you own and want to keep in reserve just in case. My pack remainder had been in my pockets for almost a week and then 2 days on the table before I put it in the fridge. Then I just got tired of seeing it in the egg basket, knowing a single puff would likely choke me badly by then, and tossed it in the trash against my own will. I didn't want to risk buying a whole pack to find out I didn't like the taste anymore, but I still threw it out since it had been weeks.

To get back on giving those away... It doesn't matter how long you wait to get rid of unopened packages; they're still sealed. I personally would feel a little better knowing my last packs would serve their intended purpose rather than throwing them away, but you follow your own conscience and it's no one else's business how you think or feel; this is just my opinion. My feelings on this action is that you can establish solidly to your buddies that: 1-You're totally free of the death sticks 2-Vaping works for real 3-You're saving enough money to not keep those and not care what happens to them. With a little luck, your buddies might get the point much faster and follow you into a better living sooner. :2c:

I'm not god and you know your buddies better than me, though...

Approaching about a month cigarette free.

I think I might start a religion relating to vaping where I go around various parks, job sites, workplaces and approach analog smokers and preach to them the gospel of vaping. "THY BROTHER WHY ARE YA KILLIN YA SELF? FOR THERE IS SALVATION IN THIS BRIGHT GREEN BUTTERFLY BEJEWELED VAPE MACHINE (My MVP is one of those decorated ones, they didn't have plain black when I went into buy)", as I get either arrested and or beaten mercilessly.

Appreciate the thoughts. Def establishes with the buds I'm really done with smokes. I'll spin some brain cycles on this.

My gut is, cigs here or no cigs here has no impact on my decision. I could toss the cigs and if I wanted a smoke tomorrow I'd have some. I can tell you I don't want them. After all the great info I've been lurking off of ECF, cravings aren't going to be enough to make me want them either. That little craving voice is just natural after 20+ years of smoking. It'll be clever and persistant, but I don't have to care all that much, as long as I seperate it from my goals. I want to be free of those chemicals. I want to be healthier and make positive changes in my life. I don't want to be spending that money on a habbit that hurts me and makes me smell like warm garbage. etc... Physical access is always there....but I could see your point from a mental decision. I'm still going to see and be around smokes, it's just that I don't want them now. Interestingly in week one I had planned on having a stinky before day 7 hoping it would just be nasty and reinforce not smoking...still haven't done that and I've got mixed emotions about it now.

Trying to emphasize my responsibility in this, not intending the big I to convey yell or be rude, hope it doesn't come accross that way :) Thanks for the inputs.

Happy father's day to all the pops out there.
