*brainfart* sorry, long day. looks like i can fill the mega carts fine, but not cartos without needle. wish i had known. which still leaves me wondering what backup atties i should order now (more 510s, megas, or egos)?

i was just wondering about this also. just got my ego kit from litecig also, and the kit specified 2 x 510 atty.

it has the separate atomizer, cartridge, and cone that screws on top. i was thinking perhaps i should go ahead and order extra atties now, and i went back to the site and looked. i see atties marked 510/ego for sale, but over at heavyvapor.com, they have ego type a and type b atties.
so i guess these are all interchangeable. what i want to know is which i should order next.
also, btw, ordered a mega atty, which i am enjoying dripping with, but i cant fill the damn ego carts and cartos without a syringe.
Any of the 510's will work on the ego's fine. The ego mega carto's I've had no luck with end up with a burnt paper taste pretty quickly, so I prefer the 510 CE2 XL carto's. 18 gauge syringe works good for filling the mega carto's though. I use the mega type b atty's strictly for dripping work really nice after debridging them.
As long as they are 510 attys, they will work on your eGo. I haven't tried the mega atomizers, but I use both regular and LR 510 attys. either 'genuine joyetech' or EM brand attys only. As for cartomizers, 510 LOW RESISTANCE BOGE SOFT CAP Blank Cartomizers from litecig are easy to fill (no syringe) and vape really well.

Yes they use up the charge quicker and shorten the general lifespan of the battery.
yes they do, but I find that some juices taste better on LR while others need regular attys or they get a burnt taste.
is the lifespan shorter to a noticeable degree? i am not really sure what the lifespan on ego 650 batts is anyway.
also, as long as i'm asking (what will some day seem) stupid questions: squid, i looked at your profile (awesome avatar!) and found the ego group. it says janty ego's... janty and joye are different brands? same or different manufacturers?
Generally, L-ion batteries like the eGo/riva batteries are good for around 300 charges. I would imagine LR attys will lessen that number somewhat, but I am more concerned with a good vape than whether I need to replace them a month or so sooner. I would guess around 30% less time between charges with LR and maybe that much shorter lifespan. after 2 months my Riva batteries are still going strong.
Sounds like it's an eGo Type A atomizer to me too. The cone cover has threads at the very end of the cone, fits big threads on the battery. If they are small threads set down in side the cone with a hole in the middle then it's a type A atty.
wow. i thought vaping was supposed to be cheaper. i am afraid to say how much i have spent in about 10 days on kr8 stuff and now ego stuff and liquids. still, i'm not complaining. tried two analogs since vaping, and they sucked.
am i correct in thinking that charging more often prolongs battery life over running it dry all the time?

Haven't had my ego's long enough to kill one yet, I don't use the LR atty all the time either so not really sure how dramatically it will shorten its life yet.
Janty from what I understand came up with the original ego design Joye is licensed to make them. Riva, Vgo, eco etc are unlicensed copies.

I think Janty is a rebrand of Joyetech products, but I'm not sure. Most eGo/Riva type devices are made by either Joyetech or Hello Group and are rebranded for different companies.
okay, well, i'm leaning toward trying the ego atty/cone combo next, then. fewer parts and larger carts sounds like a good thing to me. much thanks to all for your help. people on this forum have been pretty awesome about answering and re-answering questions for us noobs.

It is better NOT to run a L-ion battery all the way down. That will help with overall life. It also doesn't develop 'battery memory' like the older nicad or nimh rechargeables, so you can use it halfway and put it back on the charger all you like.

Heaven Gifts quite recently changed their eGo kits to include the eGo cone atomizers (Type A) but have since made the Joye 510 atomizer and seperate cone an option at the customers request. I think if using carts I'd prefer the eGo atomizers over the 510 type anyway. Looking at the pictures on FSUSA's site and putting 2 + 2 together I'd guess their source is HG.. Perhaps FSUSA should change their site though as it still says it comes with Joye 510 attys.

Once your set with all your hardware, it's only juice that your will need to buy, your spending will lessen. Maybe an occassional new atty.
Try to use the Mega Atty/carts more than you use the LR atty for longer battery life. I use my LR for only a couple of hours at night. Did see a big difference in battery drain with the LR. If your bent on using the LR, try a USB passthrough
