Yet Another Cartomizer Question

I've been using cartomizers for a few weeks now. The first batch were the hard tip type from Litecigs. A couple of weeks ago I decided to order some of the soft tips from the same place. I'm pretty happy with the performance of both. Now to my question.

Unlike the hard tips, the soft tips have a soft plastic washer inside the cartridge just under the soft plastic mouthpiece. What is the function of this washer? Is it just intended to hinder juice being sucked out? Is it just to puzzle people like me? If I remove it will I be vaping from a parallel pv universe?

Not the question of the century. I'm just curious.

i think ... and this is not a fact, lol. It is just to help keep juice from coming up towards the mouth piece. I take mine out, and they vape the same with it in or out. Hope that helps !

I never ran into the washer inside until I tried the LR 510 cartos. I pulled it out as it seemed pointless after throwing a drip tip onto the carto.

I'm assuming it's a liquid retainer to allow the excess condensation to flow back into the center of the filler. However, since I don't make em, I can't say for sure!

I don't think I've had a carto without that silicon/soft rubber inside ring, including the hard tip cartoz. All of the V4L cartoz I've had have had them. I remove them when using a drip tip or a cut back flat tip 901 cart.

I've got a mint tin with about 30 of those little puppies in it. I never use them in a carto and but they seem too important to throw out.
