Hello all, I am actually checking into the vaping scene for my wife. I quit smoking almost three weeks ago and I may make it this time but I still miss it. :(

Anyhoo, I want to see if I can at least get the wife vaping and I have no idea, even after reading a ton of posts, what would be good to start. She is a 15-20 a day lights smoker and will require a good imitation of real smoking.

From some of the posts it sounds like most of the ecigs require usage way more than normal (normal for her being a smoke every hour) am I misreading this?

So I guess I would like to hear from other ex-under a pack a day-smokers?

My advice is to get your wife involved. This will not work unless she is into it. She has to accept this as a viable way to quit or you'll be throwing money out the window.

She is involved and very interested, I am the techie though. She just want's something that works lol. My first intro was the greensmoke but from what I have been reading they are not the way to go due to price, and that the carts only last for 3-4 analogs and not the pack they claim?

Nestran - Be Nice!! - Actually you don't really suck any harder than you do on a cigarette. A lot of the e-cigs look like a real cigarette, so you don't have to look like a junkie (I think I might be offended by that). And lastly - if she quits it has to be for her - not for you.

I wish you luck - sounds like your gonna need it.

No offense intended. But every video they are taking 5 second or more drags! I took maybe a 1-1.5 second drag to get the same thing from a real cig.

I don't know, maybe I will look some more but right now I am not convinced that they are a good replacement. Maybe not for us anyway.

Nestran

On the video reviews, I think they might prolong the drag because there is some degradation of the visual image just by virtue of being a video. But, granted, no e-cig is going to have the same kind of vaper. As a long-time, heavy smoker I can vouch that the e-cig can satisfy.

Nestran. I got the same reaction to some of those vids. I think part of that was to show how much vapor. I never take those 5-7 second drags and I never do a 'lung inhale'. The 510 manual is much like smoking a cigarette and I quit almost a 3 pack a day habit when I got it.

I don't think they are for everyone either but for someone that wants to quit (I didn't) I'd recommend that they give it a shot with the 510. We wonder how many gave up on ecigs by being introduced to them with inferior products and just chucked the idea.

Depending on how much they smoke if they're buying retail cigs, the $50 for a kit is a drop in the bucket and if it works the pay back is almost immediate and the savings in the long run is.. well, thousands a year. You could get a part time job and not make as much as you'd save - again depending on the tax on where you're located and the amount you smoke.

That is reassuring, thanks. Maybe we will still take a shot. After all, I have so far saved 100 dollars with my quit :)

And to be honest, these things have helped me keep my quit as I just tell my self that if I can't stand this anymore I will try ecigs. Takes the pressure off :)

Nestran

Taking the pressure off is a huge factor, I would think - I'm, what they call around here, an 'accidental quit' - no intention to, but it happened. On all other methods - the 'one cigarette will blow it', is certainly true from my experience with others attempting to quit. Not so much here. Smoke, vape, whatever. Lol. Then you get to - may as well vape, if I'm not getting the tar and Carbon monoxide and saving the amount of money I'd have if I got a second job. :)

Rationally, it's a no-brainer. It's just getting around the irrationality of the habit.

Actually, never mind, I'm all set. I just watched a bunch of youtube videos and to be honest, you have to such the crap out of those things lol. And everyone looks like a junkie. Think I'll get her to quit instead.

Junkie- you and your wife were junkies a few week ago? Who cares how long the drag is?

I been off the cigs for about a month with the help of
swedish snus (excellent stuff BTW).It helps with the nic cravings but the physical aspect of smoking was the part I missed most. So,I ordered a 510 kit from an excellent company I found on this site and it is awesome. It's so much better than smoking, there's all these different flavors, most of which are fantastic.I really does mimic smoking very well.Just make sure you invest in a PCC if you get the 510,as well as a passthrough.

I again want to apologize for the junkie comments earlier and thank those who saw through my ignorance. I am a 21 day quit and a bit of a ..... right now.

LMAO...know the feelin'

I was a light-ish smoker myself. Most days I smoked right at or less than a pack of lights/100's. I got the 510 and it really is not hard to hit at all. I do find myself hitting it harder now than I did in the beginning just because I like the flavors so much:D....and I can taste them more.

Try this. I inhale my Joye 510 through my nose and exhale out my mouth. It's a rather fascinating experience.
