Yikes - melting carts!

One of my attys (510) just started melting my 3d (!!!) cart in as many days. The first one I thought I overheated, so I got more careful with temp. The second sent me searching through threads, and I found the one on orienting the cart, so I started doing that. The third was very carefully aligned, but still started melting.

And no, I'm not sitting on the button, my drags are no more than three to five seconds or so, and the atty is comfortable to touch, not too hot on the outside. It seems to be happening on the second puff. I usually take three puffs in a row, then rest. The first one is fine. The second one tastes of burnt plastic...

I checked - the little doohikey in the atty is centered an'all.

Any ideas? The smell and taste is awful, acrid and burning, and it can't be good for me and all that. This is an emphatic YUCK.

You gotta keep them soaked with juice. Also, have you tried 901 carts? That's all I've been using and they don't melt no matter how dry they get. The plastic is a little different and they stand up to the heat better.

Nope, except keep them full of juice. They fit perfect.

The thinner crappy ones that are delivered and meant for the 510 are just that... crap. I also use the 901 carts, and even some of those are horrible, but none have melted.

The ones that are melting are white flat-tips from Healthcabin. I love the way they work - when they don't melt, the flavor is better for me, and they feel more satisfying to me somehow.

I also have a couple of black flat-tips that came with my 510 kit from the same place, and these have not melted, but I haven't used them on this particular atty. I'm afraid to... Not sure if it's the atty or the carts.

Anything that touches that fiber wick will melt, you can bet on it.

on my 510 i very very rarely hit 3 seconds on my 510. normally 1-2 seconds is good i do a 1 second hold then continue will i puff for another second. 510's are very powerful. If you have to hold for 5 seconds sometimes i would think either your juice is weak in flavor and thoat hit so your not feeling how much your getting or your not toping off often enough. or it could just be i have some kind of super mega yeti/510.

Thinking that my sense of timing might be off, I clocked myself. You are right. I never get to 5 sec. It's more like 2 to 3 secs... Exactly the same as on my analogs, actually.

But on 1 sec I don't get anywhere near enough vapor. Maybe you do have a super duper mega Yeti!

But, I just melted a 4th cart! 8-o Maybe it's a wicking issue after all. They were all, except for the first one, regular repacked carts. I'll try the PTB mod next.

You know what? You should just sent those 'new attys' back to Noah and tell him to send some classics or titans as a replacement - he pays the postage and sends them overnight. Email him or Call Mark at 208-767-0895. That's what I'd do.
