So, I've had my Riva for, what ... 36 hours? My very first post as an utter whelp got me a response I liked: "Go 510, then you can drop carts for EgoT attys and tips. Interchangable." Oh, come on, guys. You saw me coming from a mile away. Heh Heh!

So, I've done it. Cignot.com, 2 tank attys and a 5-pack of tips.

The only thing I'm not liking is that, no matter how much I try, I still manage to get juice on my fingers when having to refill the carts. With the parrots out of their cages for 12 hours a day, I have to be very careful about spreading that juice around.

Seemed to me that the Tank attys and the tips were worth a look-see.

I'll keep you guys updated. A day and a half with no analogs and not even caring. Whoopie!

Congratulations - so glad you are liking it. I think you will love the tank - great set up. Why are you getting so much on your fingers? Are you using dropper tip bottles of e-juice? You will probably go through a lot of paper towels and it is great that you are aware of the "pet" problems. Love macaw, and fish, and cats, and dogs, and ferrets.... I have a small zoo here.

LOL! Did you get a blunt syringe or a dropper thingy (what are those things called?) to fill it with? It's not totally necessary, but sure makes it easier. If not, you can take the .... end of the tank off and fill it that way. Have fun, I think you'll like it.

Yes, I'm using the dropper tip, but I have Rheumatoid Arthritis (Diagnosed at age 41 and I'm 43 now. What a pis*er!) and it's hard for me to get that drop directly in there, sometimes. Plus, needing to constantly pull the cart and refill puts any e-liquid condensation from vaping around the cart, and handling raw nico like that worries me. And so begins the neurotic Washing of The Hands.

Rosa, I don't have blunted syringes. Yet. But, I will! I figure that popping that end cap off twice a day to fill is better than constantly having to check the cart and the filler and the atty if my vape's going light on me.

I may just be the newbie who goes on to invent The Watercooler Mod: Hoover Dam Edition. Who knows? LOL

Ferrets are great. Mine are free roaming and have the personality of a combination cat/puppy. They simply aren't happy unles they are harassing my cats or birds. They stay clear of the dogs.

As for the arthritis, sorry to here that. I have arthritis (not Rheumatoid - my mother has that and wouldn't wish it on anyone) and I have Parkinson's. Consequently, vaping can get a bit messy sometimes. I often will use a micro test-tube holder (sort of like tongs if you recall you school days). By gripping the cart with that I can get a steadier hand or, if I am really having a bad time, can place the tongs/cart on the table for a firm vertical placement. I also went to a local high school and got them to give me the Styrofoam shipping tray packaging from small micro test tube packaging. Both items allow me to place the carts in a firm upright position then, while bracing my hand against the edge of the desk, I can drip fairly confidently. My tray packaging is getting a bit worn, so I am considering trying to make my own by just shoving a cart into some Styrofoam. For drop measuring, other than a bottle, I sometimes use a syringe, but have found replacing the cap and cleaning a bit difficult. Most of the time I use either a pipette or a children/vet oral med dispenser,

I have also found that the blue foam is a lot easier for me to work with because it has more resistance - I drop the polly stuff a lot. Have you found any particular adaptive methods that work for you?

If you go to a craft store or a flower store they have those green blocks of foam-type stuff that's used for flower arranging. I wonder if that stuff would work?

Think that is a great idea - but doesn't that stuff pulverize a bit - might break up a bit and get into the mouth piece end. Could use a throwaway to create the hole form. As for melting, that isn't how I use it. The Styrofoam is only used to allow me to steady a cart vertically onto a table so it won't tip over or move while filling it. It is not attached to the atty at the time. Then I place it back onto the atty. I like the flower block idea - may give it a try-- thanks.

Hey, Bradder, is your avatar your Macaw? If so, he (she?) is gorgeous. I've had ferrets in the past. Cute and wild and kooky! I'm sorry to hear about your Parkinson's. I know that there have been some rather exciting advances with the meds for it. Question is if they'll ever approve them, and then if the average Joe will be able to afford them. I'm in the boat with you.

Okay, floral foam. There are two types. One is dense and very crumbly. That is the type that is soaked in water and used for arrangements with live flowers. Then, there is another which is green, sometimes white, and is used for floral arrangements with silk flowers. The latter is the type I'd recommend. I used to work for a florist, cleaning the flowers and making arrangements. Damn, I miss that job. *sigh*

Just a thought, the 510 connectors that the modders purchase are the battery side connectors. If you can screw the atty/tank into a battery, you could screw it into those. Maybe mounted on a board? Would work for regular atties and cartos, IDK about the tank stuff nor cart filler.

Thanks for the "flower foam" information - had no idea of the different types and sounds as if it may work. The MadVapes connector is a great idea as well. That could add a lot more stability when I need it.

I have tried to do a search here to see if there is a thread/forum/sub-forum for adaptive methods but can't find one. Anyone know?

I just took a look at your album. Good Lord, what gorgeous creatures! You keep them in great condition. I've done all sorts of work with hookbills, but haven't done much with Macaws. I *have* been nailed by a big beak or two, every time was my fault entirely.

I have to upload some pics of my flock. I think you'd very much like Poe, my U2. I was concerned about vaping around my birds, but now my main concern, as I said before, is making sure the e-Juice behaves itself.

I would think there has got to be some forum or sub-forum about adaptations and so on. Did you try in the main Vaping Expert forum? Also, there might be something in the maintenence section. I know there are alot of modding threads and such.

Looking forward to seeing your brood. Yes, the beaks can be a bit nasty some times. Keeping the e-liquid is my main concern as well. I generally don't worry about the birds (or fish for that matter). Beetle and Swaggers stay in their own sun-room deck combo-area on the back of the house.

I am very cautious about the liquids in the house for the rest of the beasts - especially Travis, my American King Shepard who is 160lbs. Doubt the stuff would kill him, but if he wanted the bookcase to come down he could do it without even knowing . Fortunately he is an amazingly gentle dog (thank God).

Will keep looking for some thread. Could be useful. I have a friend who is blind that I helped develop some adaptive techniques so he can vape. Let me know when you get some pics up.
