Not for constant use just more for fun at home. What are pros and cons of a build like this? High maintenance? Is it painful or does it burn when you hit? Also, how do those coils not catch the cotton or wics on fire? Just looking at it seems like you would get a burnt nasty taste or really hot vape from it. Anyone with experience please fill me in

Just get a tank that you can use with pure VG, and you're produce plenty of vapor. You don't need to get all crazy with low Ohm coils and high wattage mods to be happy.

Oh I know I don't need it to be happy lol I would just use something like this for fun or just as a tinkering around type thing. Just something to do in my spare time. By no means do I want a build like this for day to day use. I just want information on this. I'd like to know more about the requirements and the pros and cons etc.

That's just sick but... Kinda got me curious too... I suppose you only can achieve something like that with a mechanical mod, low Ohms and 100% vg.

To get to that level, one must start building, learning and practicing. Vape will improve as skills and knowledge improve, and clouds will form. A thorough knowledge of batt capabilities and safety, ohm's law, and wicking properties of fiber used.

Vape is progressive, take time to get there, but once arrived, there you are. or something like that.

Vape long and prosper.

This is not something you just jump into without a lot of research. You have to really know what you are doing to be reasonably safe. Learning the principles of Ohm's Law. Which batteries are safe to do extreme sub-ohm vaping. Knowing how to recognize a hard short. This is pushing batteries to their limits. This is advanced vaping and if you don't know what you are doing a catastrophic accident could occur.

From my small experience in clod chasing the biggest things that matter are:

1. VG/PG Ratio
You always want to buy the juice with the highest amount of VG. VG is all about vapor production, but it will take away from your flavor. Those thick silky white clouds are always VG. VG is thicker and your vapor will dissipate much slower than if you were vaping with high PG.

Wicking
Wicking is probably the second most important thing to know about when cloud-chasing. Less is more. The less cotton you can use the better. Try to leave your coil exposed everywhere but where you thread it through. You'll need to rejoice a lot, but the more freedom your coil has, the more air that will be able to get to it.

Airflow
Always always, always, have your airflow holes lined up with your coil/s. Airflow is key when chasing clouds, so the more airflow you can get to your coils the better. But don't go drilling loads of holes in your atty, because everything in moderation.

Battery and safety
Pretty obvious, but go with 18650 batteries only. Also, educate yourself about safety. That's an absolute must. You can and will damage your mod, (I've gone through multiple attys), or worse: blow your battery.

That's just my 2 cents from my experience trying to chase clouds. Coil setup honestly hasn't proved to be a big deal for me.

This is more along the lines of what I was looking for. Very informative thank you you mention high VG but can I just go say 80/20 or something? I don't want to go 100 percent VG lol I'm not aiming for the hugest possible clouds. Just a build that can produce large ones with some decent flavor.

Have you ever tried 100% Vg before? IMHO, Pg is not required at all for great flavor. Many of my e-liquids are made of 100% Vg. Check out Dripeez & Virgin Vapors.

Never tried 100% VG simply because I've heard with no PG results in very little flavor. I'll definitely check those out thank you

I personally can't do 100% vg, my tongue and mouth hate the film it forms. Don't know if that is just me, but since I don't have issues with pg, and high vw leaves a film and taste in my mouth, I keep it around 40-70% pg.

As for wick, less wick helps with space for airflow, but more wick touches the coil leads to more juice being vaporized. Too much wick can cause lack of space and the coil can't touch every square millimeter of wick, but too little leads to not enough surface area to vaporize juice and can lead to hot/dry hits.

Research, research and research some more. So many times I see guys at the smoke pit at work, chucking vapor out... but have no idea about Ohm's law or what their batteries can handle. Last thing I want to see happen is someone on a base get injured through lack of research on their own part.

It's good you have asked the question though. Many good bits of info folks have posted so far in this thread. Battery safety, airflow, knowing what your build resistance is and how to check it. Don't have to sub-ohm to get good clouds, but if chasing is the goal, I'm guessing you might have to dip into that realm some. Check, double check and triple check before firing your mod though!!!!

You can purchase this for dirt cheap at Walmart or CVS Pharmacy. And, it makes a crapload of vapor; this is what cloud chasers use in competitions.
