In case anybody is interested I found and installed a free app on my GS3 from the google play store called "E-Smoker Calculator"

Besides from the name being wrong (i think it should not say smoker lol) it works quite well. It's similar to the banners we have but you can add in your purchases as well and it gives you a date of break even, savings vs money spent. There is also a liquid calculator I havent tried yet since I'm not into the DIY scene yet.

I'm set for a while on juice and cartos/nova heads but im hoping this app makes it so i can manage my spending with my new hobby lol

So who wants to play the post your "break even" date game.

Mine is 12/20/2012 (for now :p)

I think Ocelot was trying to say there is no "break even" when you spend all you "save" on new vape gear. It's a rather common disease around here. :)

Exactly. In celebration of my 100th tobacco free day I ordered a blown glass drip tip! Yipee! As if I really needed that...

My break even date was Friday.

I've spent 140 dollars on PV stuffs, and I've gone a little over 3 weeks with 0 cigarettes. I have had to force myself not to go crazy, and I've also gotten a bit of tech from friends for cheaper. My 1100 twist for example came from a friend for 20 bucks. He got a provari and no longer needed it. Got a few new stardusts from a different friend for free, also got some with my passthrough. 100ish ml of fluid purchased, and now I know I go through 36ml every two weeks which means I'll be ahead for a long time to come as long as I can control my impulse buying.

Itll take me about 6-7 weeks of not smoking. (Havent stopped yet. Also, this is after I get my extra backup battery, wall plug, charger adding that in).

Ive already got e-lqiuid and paid for that easy with my last period of vaping.

I am not one to buy lots of unnessasary gadgets or things, and I aint rich.

It doesn't sound like you're in the Middle of Nowhere. I don't have any friends who vape except on ECF.

Gonna be honest, I'm a city boy, spent 20 years of my life in dallas texas, and while San Antonio is TECHNICALLY more populous, it's an armpit of a city. Larger square mileage less densely populated. I hate living here. If I didn't love my job and where I work I'd be gone in a heartbeat. Anyway, Austin is pretty vape friendly, so there's stuff everywhere...especially when there are people that come to the SA office 1 or 2 times a week from austin.

So there ya go, if you found this thread you get to know about my middle of nowhere comment. Just upset about where I had to move for this awesome job.

My banner is wrong. It only lets me put a certain dollar amount for hardware, and I am almost ashamed to say how much that is. But I am in for the long haul, and have been setting up others with my hand me downs so all is good. I have backups for my backups, enough nicotine in the freezer and rebuildables etc. to last me years. If I stopped buying today that is.

I still buy some juice from my favorite vendors (on sale only) and DIY the rest. And now I want a mechanical and a VW, so those are on order. I buy through the classies and coops almost everything now, the Caravella is the only thing I am paying full price on and that is because it is mechanical and gorgeous. And I haven't got the bill on that so have no idea when my break even date will be, if ever.

how in the hell did you get so lucky? NONE of our friends vape with the cooler stuff, in fact they are buying our cast-off's! lol I swear that we walk around sounding like a run on infomercial!! I went up north hunting this weekend. It was our 1st overnight trip since we made the switch and if hubs wasn't going on and on about them to everyone who would listen, my friend was. She was having me show EVERYONE!! I swear I better not get something from all those people who were making out with my metal tip! It was funny stuff though because every single 1 of them did the exact same thing I did and that was try to hit it like it was the illegal green leafy vegetable! 1 girl said, Oh, I don't need 1 of those, I can quit cigs any time I want to. My thought was then ... are you still smoking?! Seriously? Am I the only 1 that thinks that is incredibly lame? It could be my giant Zmax that turned her off but I said that's my portable f250, go big or go home! hahahahaha

I work with a bunch of tech geeks. If you've ever been around programmers or systems admins/engineers, you'll know that a disproportionately large number of them are smokers, and so when the tech got a bit better, cheaper and more accessible a large number of the guys I work with switched to e-cigs. Now the smoking areas are about 50/50 between vapers and smokers.

Pretty easy to get good advice and cheap 2nd hand gear.
