We were just talking about that at lunch. Love taking the train into Chicago to visit the Museum of Science and Industry. It's been awhile but I've been itching to crawl around the U-505 since they moved it. If we don't leave from Jackson we usually go via BC.

Have you toured the factory where they make the Girl Scout cookies? I remember it like it was yesterday...

Dang...now I want Girl Scout cookies.

I've toured the Kellogg plant when I was a kid and get into the offices several times a year as The Evil One is a Senior Manager there. I've also wandered through the Post plant a few times while working. I never knew they made Girl Scout cookies here. The Evil One thinks they make them in Chicago now (she's rarely wrong as I know all too well).

Sometimes key grip, sometimes best boy, but usually just a grip.

I've always wondered what the key grip does. Also what does the best boy do? Around here, the best boy is the one who doesn't call asking for money every other week ;)

Wouldn't surprise me...my visit was 35 years ago. But your route takes you to both locations.

Hey...not fair!

I am an RN, I worked in ICU and CCU saving lives.
I had an accident that ruined that so I am prematurely retired. The government says that even though the doctors say I can't pass a physical to work in a hospital, I can work on a factory assembly line sitting down, so I don't qualify for disability. Only problem is I would have to move elsewhere to make that fascinating career change since we don't have any factory assembly lines where I live. So I am now a house frau specializing in cooking, laundry and nap taking (no stairs, vacuuming, mopping or anything requiring extended time on my feet).

I'm a self employed architectural and construction management consultant. Was a construction project manager building K-12 elementary schools for 7 years and before that I was an architectural project manager overseeing design, construction docs and contract administration on mostly K-12 elementary schools.

When the economy tanked, I was forced into starting my own gig and now I primarily put together construction docs for healthcare related renovations :)

I work in the accounting office for a roofing company. I have been very fortunate that they were able to keep the doors open during the economic downturn. There were slight cuts to hours and a wage freeze but I was able to keep my job. Things are finally looking up for the construction industry here. I hope to be here until I retire in a few years.

I buy a box every year not one but a box of boxes. Ain't nuttin' like a frozen roll of thin mints in the middle of the summer. I always have them in the freezer all year long.

Think I'll go get a roll now........Thanks for reminding me Crash!

The Key grip works with the Director of photography to make the lighting look the way he/she wants it. He is the boss of the other grips, and the best boy is 2nd in charge.

I actually do live in the mountains at 4200 feet of elevation - though not the Adirondacks. I am in the mountains an hour outside of San Diego (guess I really should update the profile at some point...) and there is a good demand for this style of furnishings. It is a classic style and I put my own twist of the design.

Are you in Julian ?

Self employed owner of a small printing and graphic design shop. I do a lot of work for penguin group, if you're ever in a book store and you see those cards hanging from the shelf, mostly young kids to teenage material, I printed that. Printed all the licensed pokemon, nsync, backstreet boys, scarface, posters. Used to do the world series, stanley cup, and super bowl posters. We had to make 2 designs for every championship, one for each team. Would have to go in hours after the end of the final game to start the presses. Got a bunch of memorabilia as barter for some of those jobs, like a Charles Barkley dream team one game worn jersey and shorts, john stark's shoes.
