I think vaping is a great substitute for eating and drinking junk food/drinks, even for a non-smoker. Although I was a smoker, I plan on continuing with vaping once I get my nic down to 0 because I think the sweet juices will continue to help me as a substitute for sweets. However, I do agree with some of the others that you should up your water intake. Shoot for half of your body weight in ounces every day. That's what all the experts recommend.

Whatever works for YOU to keep YOU from your own Bad Habits.

Personally I'd see a doctor, Shrink, and get some meds.

ADD? I don't believe in it. Junk.

Most of the time it is used to curb, IMHO, normal male children to make them more like Girls.

I haven't done the research but I bet 95% of children diagnosed with ADD are Male. Stunting the Boys will be Boys growth process.

Clearly you have no idea what you're talking about. I am certainly not male, but have suffered ADD since LONG before they had a name for it. My son did too, but I certainly didn't medicate him for it. I agree that often medication is used to make square pegs fit round holes, and is unnecessary, but to make a blanket statement that it's to make boys more like girls... how ignorant.

I would not recommend vaping to anyone who was not trying to use it to replaces cigarettes.

Drink more water and less soda, and eat more healthy snacks and less chips. As far as your stress goes, learn how to deal with it.

Problems solved.

The same could be said for a smoker vaping. Just deal with it.

Why is your reason valid and his not? Both are using vape to curb unhealthy behavior.

That sounds... Very sexist... Also it sounds like you do not even know what ADD is.

You have your opinion and I have mine. I certainly wouldn't call you ignorant for expressing your opinion. But that doesn't seem to be the case for you.

All the best to you in the future.

As someone who grew up with lots of children (foster care) I know about ADD and ADHD. It is real and can be pretty debilitating at times, depending on the severity. My older brother has one of the worst cases of ADD that doctors has seen. He wasn't medicated but mom gave him some vitamins and supplements to help him out and it worked wonders. I think its ginko biloba(? please correct me if I am wrong). On the complete other hand another brother had Severe ADHD! And I am talking thermo- nuclear-I-am-not-joking-at-all SEVERE ADHD. He had to be on meds and his whole family as well. If he went without them he'd have a complete breakdown. It didn't help that he has a learning disability as well.

To the OP: If this helps you, then go for it. You are an adult and can make your own decisions. Don't let others scare you away from your choices. Good luck and Happy Vaping.:toast:

Thank you for your post. Ginkgo Biloba is correct, it is to help with memory in people who have hard time.. well.. remembering things. It is hard for many people with ADD to do so because their mind is always wondering and thinking about other things. I use to take it all the time for the same reason.

I enjoyed reading this thread for the most part, seems there are a few of us female vapers with adhd/add. Glad you found something that works for you after doing much research and consideration. Good luck and best wishes, and thanks for sharing, seems you got more supportive folks than not :)

I understand the hand to mouth fixation. It's one of the reasons my previous attempts at quitting the cigs failed.

I know someone who was never a smoker that occasionally vapes. She found a nic free e-liquid that mimics the french vanilla cappuccino's that weren't so good for her. It's not my place to judge so I say to each his/her own. If it's working for you then by all means go for it.

You wouldn't? Even when nicotine has been used in studies on Alzheimers and has been shown to slow down the disease in early studies? Nicotine May Slow Progression to Alzheimer's Disease - Georgetown University

It's also been studied in relation to adhd with positive preliminary results
Nicotine effects on adults with at... [Psychopharmacology (Berl). 1996] - PubMed - NCBI

I am a vaper that quit smoking, but if I had a choice between nicotine therapy that I could control myself and is a naturally occuring resource and chemical pills? I'd go to vaping every time. In fact, I am...I will not stop using nic in my juice. I'm at 6mg and I plan to stay there because it does help my focus and attention span and keeps me from needing MORE medication for ADD or increasing the dose of my already existing anxiety prescription.

If someone can get benefits from vaping without using nic in their juice who are we to judge?
