I've had mine for about 2 weeks now and loving it. Just wondering if anyone has seen any problems with it so far. BTW, I'm using eFest IMR 18650's in mine.

After a day with the smok Magneto I arrived at the following:

The bottom button was rough, noisy, and sticky from the start. I was told to tighten the locking ring in the button section, and that helped for a bit, but not for long. It got rough and sticky again and I got misfires.

I was advised to use Noalox on the button, so I went to Home Depot and got some. I put it on the friction areas of the button with a Q-tip after taking that apart, and the threads of the tubes and cap.

It did not help at all with the button. It was still sticky, and misfired too often for my liking in a new mech. The threading on the center tube is not up to snuff either, loose and imprecise. I don't like the button on the Magneto at all. I've gone back to my sigelei 24, which I was having button issues with from time to time, but not as bad as with the Magneto. At times the button sticks so hard I can't push it in at all. Pretty bad.

For all the online hype about this mech, and it's initial popularity, I cannot see it justified in the product, and will probably just put it on craigslist for what I paid for it. Probably someone will care more about the spider on the button, the 1939 on it and the hype about it than I do. I just want a mech that works right. They could have done a much better job on the button.

That the button uses magnets is no substitute for good machining and tolerances, both of which I find lacking in the Magneto. The button locking ring I find to be of little utility. I can sit my Sigelei 24 down without that and it stands there just fine, which is nice. The Magneto, while you can sit it down with an RBA on it and not have it fire, is still unstable and will fall over quite easily, rocking around on it's magnetic button, unless you use the locking ring... every vape you take. Too much bother for me.

I don't have to do that with my Sigelei 24, I can just set it down and it stands there just fine, and it comes with a collar and D-ring I can use in my car with a lanyard to vape on the go. When driving a stick shift that's nice.

I'm sure there are some who are happy with the Magneto, but it's just not for me. I don't like the button at all. It's sticky and rough, misfires, and I don't like it.

I think you may have gotten a bad unit. Or maybe mine and my buddy's are smooth because they're the new no logo version with adjustable pin. I had a KTS(recently sold), a k100, an SVD, an mvp(recently sold), and the magneto and the magneto is the main one I go to. It works flawlessly for me. I've only had a couple misfires caused by not completely unlocking it. With all the hype and how much people rant and rave about it, I would be contacting the seller or manufacturer if I were you to try to get a replacement.

As long as you are happy with it, that all that matters. The Magneto didn't even make my radar when I started my search for a pvd. did look at SVD, MVP, VTR, Lavatube, Vamo 1,2 & 3, and a few others, took a good solid week and hours upon hours of search reviews, comparisons and video reviews on YouTube. Finally I settled for a Provari and very satisfied. Then the search started all over for an genesis devise and an rba. Hey, wasn't the genesis device the thing that turned out to be the death of Spock? Any way, ordered a genesis clone from Fast tech, still waiting, and bought a Russian rba and have been vapping my head off. And not a tribble at all.

I've had for about a day and couldn't be happier! Its my first mech so I have nothing to compare it to, but I've run into none of the problems listed above. Everything from threads to buttons is buttery smooth. Sounds like there might be a QC issue at the plant.

Held one for the first time yesterday at my local B&M and it seems like solid piece. It was my first time holding a magnetic button, it felt alright... I think I was thinking there would be that feeling when you hold two magnets close to each other haha idk why but it overall felt pretty solid. The top cap is pretty nice too, looks like there are air channels for the 510 connection

I like it. Though sometimes it doesn't always fire when you hit the button. One thing to note is that it will accomodate my 68.7 mm protected battery which is a win for me, and someone has said they were able to get a regular length 18650 (65 mm) battery and a kick in there.

Because of the magnetic button mechanism, the mod is a bit longer in any mode, but still shorter than my vamo.

Love mine, one of my top 2 favorite mods. Zero issues, had it since July and use it just about everyday no misfires. I just bought the Ego threaded cap w/adjustable pin ...although I haven't had anything not make a connection on the original cap yet but at least now I dont have to use dam adapters that I despise so much.

Awesome! I saw that replacement cap and couldn't tell if it had an adjustable center pin. Fantastic!

Thanks for the info DDark4eva!

I love my magneto.I keep an 18350 in it and it's the perfect size for my hand.My KTS is to small with an 18350.The only issue I had with the magneto was with the locking ring.It come down to far exposing some of the threads and would just spin,so I took it back to the B&M where I bought it.They took the switch apart and fixed it and I haven't had a problem with it since then.

I had a bit of an issue with the button. Sounds slightly similar to your deal. I have a tendency to fiddle with things absentmindedly. In doing so I unscrewed the magnet portion of the switch almost completely off. It resulted in a crunchy long throw. Maybe this is your issue?

Well no, I didn't do that, I had that brass ring screwed down tight, and the switch lubed with Noalox pretty well, and it would still stick hard when I pushed that button, and even when it didn't stick it would misfire a lot.

Happily, since I put the rifle grease on it the sticking has gone away and it misfires a lot less, so if you have an M1 Garand main battle rifle, and the grease that goes with it I'd strongly recommend using that grease on the button. It works. Note that you don't need to have the rifle, just get the grease, you can order it in tiny little pots that fit in the stock of the rifle, are dirt cheap, and are a good supply for a long time.

Hey, it worked. I'm vaping on my Magneto and it's a lot better than it was when I got it. I might even start liking this mech...

Sorry to hear about the issues your having Vas. The one I received has tight thread tolerances all around, the locking ring spins almost all the way down with one twirl of my finger, the button is buttery smooth, and not one misfire to date! It has become my EDC using the eVic less and less. (Poor eVic) Although, the other day I had it and my eVic in one hand and an iced cappuccino held between my body with the arm holding my mods, bent over to grab my shoe and (guess what happened next) yep, spilled nice juicey, yummy, super sticky iced capp all over both of them...

After a little "Everclear" cleaning, both are back to perfect operation! Actually loving it more now that I have experienced cleaning all of the sticky out with ease! The eVic was a little more work, but it is back in perfect working order!

Maybe I should have played the Lottery that day... :)

Well, bought mine yesterday, given it a full day break in period, no modifications to it. Protank 1 and 2 have run good on it, iClear30 no issues, Smoktech RDA what I'm mostly using on it, as well as an RSST, looking to put a vape safe fuse in it. My first mech, though I've tried another person's Enzonic, and tried a Natural about the only comparisons I can make. $50, I've spent more on regulated mods compared to this, have recoiled my RDA's with 28ga, not going to go sub-ohm, 1.1-1.3ish lowest I am thinking of using with it. Will also be purchasing some AW IMR's for it, but the Samsung 18650's are running fine with my Smok RDA at 1.5ohms, no real issues. Probably be my dedicated dripper mod and for rebuilds on my other regulated device attachments. All in all, I'm very pleased with it.

Used this just a few minutes ago on the button. Smoothed it out quite a bit. I have some "break free" gun lube at the house i might try next as this M1 oil doesnt last for a long time.
