Ecigs have helped me quit smoking in the past two months and I've managed to save lot of money doing this. However I'm finding it increasingly difficult to avoid real tobacco when I'm out and drinking with friends over the weekend for instance. Was just wondering what others have experienced regarding this and what is your general advice to avoid falling back in regular consumptions. Thanks

I found that it depends on what device your using for vaping. I couldn't manage to stay off the stinkies until I went to a mech mod or a rebuidable tank (ie. Russian/Kayfun). But each person is different. I know I have found what works for me. I haven't even wanted a drag of one since my mods, and I have been in every scenario that was the hardest for me to quit in the past. I wish you the best of luck with you journey.

Congrats on making the healthier choice :thumb:

Oh, sure I have experienced the desire for tobacco, especially when drinking. Here is what I did, and it worked like a charm:

- get a nice, strong tasting tobacco liquid (e.g. Cuban Supreme or Tuscan Reserve, both with Flavor Art flavoring)
- get a sweet tasting liquid, such as vanilla, caramel (something that is /was also used to flavor tobacco)
- make sure you have enough nicotine in those liquids - important. Remember chain-smoking when drinking?
- make a nice, tasty mix of those liquids (tobacco and sweet) in the tank of your PV - you will get the flavor of small, sweet-flavored cigars (yummy)
- take those liquids with you

As the evening progresses, you may wish to put more of the tobacco liquid and less of the sweet liquid in your tank. Alcohol deadens the sense of taste. You will have a very nice, strong tasting vape. At first, like those nice, sweet-flavored small cigars. As you add more tobacco and less sweet-tasting liquid, then it will taste like a small cigar. Or like a cigar. Nice strong tobacco flavor to go with your favorite booze. Just like what you were used to when you still smoked.

The taste will be very satisfying indeed. But warning ;) - the rest of the liquid in the tank, the next morning, will take your socks off  ;)

Enjoy!

By the way, longing for some tobacco while drinking is nothing unusual. Not at all. After all, for years / decades, the flavor of tobacco went so well with beer / wine / other nice drinks. - And with this little trick, you can have all you want - only without the smoke as such. :)

And hey, I got a big case of "small sweet-flavored cigar nostalgia'" after 2 years as a 100% vaper, last November. While drinking a glass of red wine and reading an article about Cuba. Which country manufactures - you guessed it - cigars. So what? I mixed my lovely flavor in my tank, vaped it - and was fully, wholly, completely and 100% satisfied.

Try it, dear. And please report on the outcome :)

Once you get to the point where you like vaping better than smoking, it's no longer a concern.
You can even have a cigarette while drinking and know you'll go back to vaping.

So what does it take to like vaping better than smoking.
Only you can answer that.

But generally speaking I think it takes a device that works for you without hassle.
And at least one liquid (if not a few) that you really like a a lot.

Haven't had a smoke since the third day after starting to vape. I really dislike the smell of them now and try to avoid them. There really aren't any businesses around here where you can smoke inside so it has not been a problem. The other day I was walking out of a business and pass the area where the smokers do their thing and the smell got to me. Whipped out my little EVOD Twist with a ProTank2 Mini (my out and about unit) and took a good hit. Problem solved!!

I will say just smoke... in morning when you will be forcing your poor body get up and make it function you will curse cigarettes for the rest of your life .
Heavy tobacco juice with 2*my normal nicotine lvl (12/24mg) did the job for me, and now i just can't stand any tobacco liquid so i carry my berry/fruity stuff in high nic and have no problems.

Good luck

My biggest fear was that drinking would cause me to fall off the wagon, even though I seldom consume alcohol. The first few times were hard and only a rare display of will power got me through. Took a week vacation in the Dominican, drank like a fish, tempted to smoke a few times but made it through. Now I know that none of my old triggers will bring me back to the dark side.

Just thought I'd add my experience. You've got lots of good advice here already. For a long time I had triggers that made a cigarette hard for me to turn down. For me anyway it just took time. I've been vapeing for a year and a half now, and nothing makes me want a cigarette, ever. Never thought I would feel that way, just in time it happened. Just stick with it and hopefully you'll feel the same in any circumstance. Good luck!
