That's what the voice in my head says while I puzzle over my dilemma - the problem is, I'm not sure what's wrong :(

The scenario - an Aspire nautilus on top of a Seven 22.

Frequently when I change juice, I get drip in the chamber, which then goes into my mouth and tastes terrible, of course.

I break the Nautilis down into five easy pieces, and wash each piece. I tighten everything back together firmly but carefully (I think, but most likely not), being aware that the chamber is Pyrex so I shouldn't overdo it. The coil piece I wash the bottom half of, as I can see that there is residue on it. I do not put water in the center of the coil.

I then dry each piece off and take a Q-tip to any parts that I can get to. Back together, fill it with a dropper only on the size not down the center chamber, and that's it, juice in my mouth half of the time. I then curse, repeat all steps noted above, and wind up cursing again usually.

Can anyone identify what I might be doing wrong?

Thanks and happy Fourth!

I am really not sure what you are doing wrong. Maybe leave the top part on and rinse it as a whole with the pyrex tank. I have only used one flavor, so I am just guessing here. But with my other tanks, I leave the top part assembled and rinse it out thoroughly, then put in new liquid. The other tanks, I can rinse out the coil, too.

Probably what is happening is the tips on your bottles are allowing a little juice to get in the center tube when your filling the tank. Hate that your wasting all that juice though. Have you tried filling with a blunt needle and syringe? Thats how Ive gotten use to filling all of my stuff. Its just so much cleaner and easier. If you use an 18 gauge needle it usually fits tight in all the bottle holes then just turn your bottle upside down and such the juice out of it. I usually hold the needle and bottle together with my thumb and finger to keep from dropping one or the other. I hope this helps with your issue. Another trick when this happens is to remove the base and use a twisted tissue and swab the juice out of the tube. Some tanks you can remove your drip tip and go through the top to get it out. Once you get it filled and its not flooded does it ever flood while in use? Couple things that can cause it while using is your air flow is to tight or simply a bad coil. I only tear down my aerotank and clean it once a week. and very very rarely does it ever flood. Good luck I hope this helps.

    Joe,

How do I go about getting a needle and syringe without going to North Philadelphia? (heh) - seriously, are these legal to purchase, or do I have to approach people under the El?

Down here in Florida, you can purchase any type of guage syringe at a local pharmacy, I use Publix. They are about a buck. Well worth the price to be able to drain a tank if needed to try a new flavor or to clean your tank out. I hate wasting liquid heh.

Thanks for the word Gandy - Joe, twisted tissue ...! Rolled it up and tossed it down the hatch. Came up with a small amount of liquid on the end. Did it again with a fresh corner and clean this time. Vaping like a fiend again! Many thanks to all.

I often do the twisted-paper towel swab, and I also got some "pipe cleaners" -- though nowadays they're sold in the arts and crafts dept at walmart and called "fuzzy sticks" -- go figger. But they're champs at swabbing down into it, and also for cleaning the condensation from the driptip or mouthpiece.

Two things I ran into on my Nautilus first, the coils are not consistent and the resistance will go up until they melt apart. Check your resistance with an ohm meter.

Second, there are clone coils on the market. The clones have less threads where they screw into the chimney and leak at that point (among many other problems). With authentic coils I've not had any flooding problems but you still have to deal with dry hits.

They really do, and a lot of times, if there's any question in my mind that some of the juice might have gotten into the center column during a refill, I run the pipe cleaner right thru the whole thing, just to make sure that column is clean and dry before I ever even put it all back together -- because ejuice is just that nasty in the mouth! :D If it slides thru too loosely, you can even double them, squeezing the bend tightly so it doesn't "catch" in the column, and that works even better to make sure it's clean/dry all round.

If I think juice has got into the center hole I'll put the tank together get a paper towel and blow through the drip tip.any excess juice comes out into the paper towels and I'm good to go. Works with any tank. Also if your getting a gurgle or juice in your mouth do the same. It will cure the issue everytime! Works like a charm no matter which tank your using. Hope this helps and best wishes
