figured I would post this here too......

@xianos, like tiff said make sure the tank is screwed down tight, if it already is take apart the switch and give it an iso bath, while your at it you can sand down the screw head flat so it makes better contact w/ the neg side of the batt,

sand the top and bottom of the spring flat and sand the surfaces where the spring sits, as well as the top of the screw post.

also while your in there, do the same thing to the spring under the atty

most issues w/ not firing are in the coil, most issues w/ intermittent firing are gonna be in the switch.

Hey guys!

Does anyone know a way to contact Zen himself? He's got two AYS's that were supposed to be sent to finland but he probably forgot, I've been trying to contact him via PM and email and no answer. If someone sees him around, could you please remind him about them. He knows the address where they ought to be sent. Cheers.

The other question i have is about the springs and screws in the Zen switch. Does anyone know the size of the screws and maybe a place or a link in ebay where i could find a matching brass or copper screw? I'd also like to know where i could find a fitting copper or brass spring for the switch.

Thanks guys!

I know that the standard springs are available on electronicstix but i was wondering if anyone knew of a brass or copper spring that would fit? iHybrid's switch screws are the same as the ones zen uses so i doubt they're custom made? It's a shame that neither manufacturer sells them.

The screws might not be listed on the site, but I'm sure if you've lost one Mike could fix you up.

As far as the Zenesis springs, the only ones he recommends are the ones he sells.

ETA: I've never had any trouble with the spring that came with mine, so never looked to replace it.

That is the newer or "stainless steel" switch as it is known. The BAMs that were released first are completely anodized on the outside, and to an extent, on the inside.

You should not need to remove any anodizing with this switch. I had some issues with mine when I got it, and lightly sanding the head of the screw that makes contact with the battery did the trick. Also, if you have the thick wick that came installed, then a 3 wrap coil is the way to go.

this is what i did to my SW, you can do this as a last resort, as it is the switch needs to be fully screwed in, tightly so that the edge comes in contact w/ the outer unanodised ring, I did this so that I would get a better ground and not have to worry about screwing the switch in so tightly.... heres a pic.....

I also put a new spring in the switch last night (copper i beleive), and polished up the brass screw which i sanded flat a while ago, just to clean it up a bit.... also I think that Jason is selling the springs now, I got an extra from him as well, good to have around, but the quality of the spring i got from jason i noticed was better than the quality of the original spring that was in the SW

it just makes a better connection flat, as the bottom of the battery is flat as well. I also replaced all the screws in the SW w/ copper ones (i beleive) that my buddy got us for our sidewinders from an electrical supply company, hes actually looking into having the bottom bridge replaced w/ a brass or copper one.
this thing is a beast  hardest hitting genesis pv I have ever tried, and I've tried pretty much all of them, the only thing that comes close is my GG/ZAG w/ all upgraded brass connections, but still doesnt hit like the SW does. I hope my rambling helps someone
