do this and it will hit like a freight train, (disclaimer: dont do this lol) i get 0v drop in it now, althought I never measured voltage drop in it before and it pretty much always hit like a freight train.... honestly even before I stripped the anodising off the threads it was still the hardest hitting Genesis PV I have ever tried. I'm not sure why that is, it just is lol, sometimes if i vape it before I've had a chance to wake up it will make me cough up some lung butter  mike just knows how to build a good PV, and now w/ the bridge and tank upgrades, its perfect, 0v drop and no leaks at all... just make sure when you recieve the new tank you put a size #16 o ring where the old one used to be (thanks andy), its the same size as the o rings that are on all zen top caps.

@xianos, like tiff said make sure the tank is screwed down tight, if it already is take apart the switch and give it an iso bath, while your at it you can sand down the screw head flat so it makes better contact w/ the neg side of the batt,
photo1-1.jpg

sand the top and bottom of the spring flat and sand the surfaces where the spring sits, as well as the top of the screw post.

also while your in there, do the same thing to the spring under the atty

most issues w/ not firing are in the coil, most issues w/ intermittent firing are gonna be in the switch.

I'm new to the Zen~ products. I just ordered a Sidewinder and I'm curious what tank size will fit. I'm seeing on ElectronicStix two sizes, mini and standard. Available in two materials, cobalt glass and fused quartz. However I don't see any info defining which of these will fit the Sidewinder. Is the tank dimensions on the sidewinder unique or does it actually match one of the other models? Anyone know for certain?

Got my sidewinder right on schedule ..... thanks guys.

I must say I was a little nervous about this one. I own 5 other genesis mods but this is my first Zen ....
Kinda seemed like he got a bad rap a while back but I can assure anyone if you on the fence the SW is a great device.

It fit the bill for me perfect .... matched the vape of my other fave genesis device but in a stellar small package with screw cap and locking button. This is the first genesis that even attempts to be pocketable.

Any idea when you expect more in stock ????

I would love to pick up a second one ASAP
(if you have any super secret stock or scratch -n- dent lying around PM me :D)

So what's a guy gotta do to get a replacement tank these days? Seems I got a hold of a leaky Sidewinder. I love everything about it, well, except the leaky tank, lol. Any help/info/guidance would be much appreciated. If its still a waiting game, just tell me to shut up and color, lol. Thanks!

That sucks Nate, I'd bee so bummed if my SW was not operational ... Its quickly become my go-to

Can you elaborate on just where its leaking from ?? The "tank" is just a SS tube (threaded at top) so I don't see how that would be the culprit unless its not round?

Has it leaked since you got it ?
New/Used ?
Did you take it apart and try to fix it ?
Was it good when you got it but leaks after you've taken it apart ?

Maybe I can help you out, I don't think it would be any of the metal parts unless you see a visible defect ....
More than likely an o-ring or maybe the delrin insert ??? Or just a re-assembly snafu ...

It's obviously not leaking through the metal tank itself. My leak is actually around the threaded top cap and the button locking ring. I thought maybe I was just overwicking and the condensation buildup was getting excessive, but when I took the cap off, the top of the atty didn't seem too wet. I'm still not entirely sure how, but from what I've read the first version of the tanks were causing some kind of problem with not sealing around the orings at the top of the atty portion or something like that.

AmnNate,
Send me a quick message with your order number.

Unfortunately, I picked this SW up in a trade on the classies here on ECF. I spoke to the guy I got it from after asking about the tanks via email to ElectronicStix support. As it turns out, I'm at least the fourth owner of this particular mod. Somewhere along the line the first upgrade kit was installed consisting of the un-anodized bridge, new screws, new spring under the atty portion, along with the spacer around the new spring. However, the tank was never upgraded and I traced the leak to my tank being the original version that was reported leaking from quite a few folks. I couldn't find out where the mod was originally purchased, but I have a hunch it was one of the ones sold at Vapercon.

Long story short, I begged the ElectronicStix service guy to just sell me a tank straight up to get my SW running like it should and today I got an email with a link to the product page to buy the tank outright. So, of course I forked up the cash and picked up a few other things since I was there and I hope to get my Sidewinder up and smoking like a forest fire as soon as the new tank arrives. I certainly hope it will fix my leaking problem at least. For the time being, I'm running with an oring fitted beneath the steel tank. It lifts the tank up just enough that I guess it seals the top oring and hasn't leaked again since. However, I don't like that there is less material holding the tank securely to the atty at the bottom. Sorry for the long post, just wanted to tell the whole story and hope that it may help some other poor vaper that may be fed up with their SW leaking. Special thanks to Chops from ElectronicStix for helping me out with the link and selling me a new tank. Great customer service and helped solve my problem pretty quickly!
