Great, I hope you get it up and running perfectly with no leaks. I'd heard of the issue from the first run but never understood just what was leaking. That is what made me wait it out several months before picking one up (that and availability).

Congrats on picking up the tank.

The guys at ElectroNicStix are awesome :)

Post in here if it fixes your problems. I'm interested.

I'll definitely let you know how it turns out once it arrives. Next on my wish list for the SW is for some enterprising designer to machine an extension tube to go between the switch and batt tube to allow the use of an 18500! Obviously the lock ring wouldn't work anymore, but I don't use mine anyways. Also, I think the height of the batt tube would still be reasonable, almost even with the top cap of the atty I think. Seems like it would be relatively easy to do, I just don't have the shop to build it myself. If anybody comes up with anything, please let me know. After I fix my leaking problem the single issue left would be the very short battery life of 18350s. Take this out and I might have a new dream device!

Well I've been working on that extension tube idea. The button would come just above the air hole and go below when depressed. I never lock mine either. Gonna make a lock ring with no "tabs" on it soon, it will smooth things out.

Problem with the tube is you can't make one threaded because the battery has to go through the extension and there is no wall thickness left on the tube for threads .... :) If you thread a tube into the current threads the tube is too small for a battery to pass through.

Thinking of making one and brazing it on sometime though. Would do a number on my powder coat finish though.

Thanks for the reply Tybin. I saw in the earlier posts where the quartz tank was coming... That was dated back in November. I was just hoping. So is Eventually a very long time? No problem... I can wait. I just like to see my juice levels.

How would that be possible when the top of the tank has the threads for the top cap ??

Don't get me wrong I would love to see my juice but I cant figure how that would work.

I've been wondering the same thing. I could see a plastic tank being made with threads, but unless he's got a good way to connect a glass tube to a metal threaded band, I just don't see it. For the record, I too would like to see my juice level.

On a side note, I'm still awaiting my replacement tank, but I did find the source of my voltage drop! It turns out, one of the washers on the battery side screw that attaches to the bridge on the bottom was shorting against the anodized sidewall of the tube. I could tell because there was a shiny spot of overheated anodizing there. So I threw an oring from a drip tip underneath the bottom washer and it provided the space so the washer wouldn't touch. It hits like a monster now and my battery life has improved also. I hadn't noticed my battery heating up or any other problems, so it must have been a very minor short, but it was definitely causing some voltage loss and eating my battery while I wasn't even using it. Just thought I'd share in case someone else runs into this unique problem. I can't wait to get my new tank and this may take the title as my new favorite PV. Lastly, on my next build, I'll be attempting to use SS wire rope as my wick as discussed here. I've had great success with it in my GTUS so far. You all might want to check it out.
