zephyrus v2 RBA problem

So I bought a zephyrus v2 that comes with the rba. I've been using it for a few months and I really like it. Problem is I want to change out the coil and re-wick it but I can't unscrew the damn top piece off the rba deck. I know I didn't tighten it that much last time I rebuilt it so I don't know wth is going on. Any tips on how to get this thing off short of using vice grips? I really don't want to scratch the heck out of it or risk damaging the threads. Thanks.

use one of those rubber things meant for getting stuck lids off glass jars!

Tried it. That trick, and a rubber band, works to get some of my tight tanks apart but there's not enough surface area on the RBA to get a good enough grip. Thanks though.

use one of those rubber jar things over the pliers so they may not mark or damage it unless you need to use too much force
