I've been searching through the forum, but can't find any advice on this (though I'm sure it's out there and I've just failed to find it).

I tried to do the ZFM mod on my 901, and it will work for a few seconds, but the plug keeps getting sucked into the cartridge. I tried cutting a few different plug things to see if it wasn't tight enough or something, but the same thing keeps happening.

I THINK this might be because there's a little... thing.. I don't know how to describe it, but it's metal and hangs down in the bottom of the atomizer.. anyway, I THINK that might be shoving the plug down.. so I tried shortening the straw and putting the plug in further, but that way I could barely put in a drop of eliquid and wasn't getting any smoke..

If this mod doesn't work out it's not the end of the world and I'll just try the tea bag mod, but if anyone has any suggestions specific to the 901 I would really appreciate it! I would love to never have to deal with changing the cartridge filter.

I haven't tried the ZFM mod on my 901 carts yet, but I have been quite happy with the PTB mod. With the PTB on the 901, I have had the best results by not trimming the excess as some do, but rather shoving the extra into the cart to make as full and flat a surface as possible. Did you have to use a syringe to refill your ZFM carts?

I haven't looked into the PTB mod - I'll check it out! And yes, I think the only way to easily refil the ZFM carts is to either use a syringe or a pointy tipped dropper.

I have four carts I've been using and re-filling all week, and they're all fine. The material can be rinsed out in hot water, re-rolled, and re-packed. I've done the "rinse" to two of them now, as I cut too much off them (before realizing I should just shove the extra 1/8" in) and they still work fine.

As far as if there is a point of failure, nylon is a plastic polymer that may melt, but I don't think it should burn or degrade at the temps reached in the atty. I've never tried to vape one completely dry before.
