Zombie plan of the week

Status
Not open for further replies.
Well we have mentioned this before, and if the Zombie Apocalypse ever happens, this needs to be top priority. Someone needs to find and eliminate Mac. His plan is to harvest the undead and the dead to try and make a race of super Zombies that he alone controls. This is not acceptable. Fighting and surviving once the dead start to walk and feed will be hard enough without having to fight off a super race of mind controlled Mac Zombies. Mac, I love ya like a brother, but when that day comes, your going to be public enemy #1.

1. Montezuma's Castle - JANUARY
2. Quantico
3. Private Island
4. Home Front
5a. Cruise Ship
5b. University of Florida
6. Oparus underground shelter
7. Local Bar, make that a local STOCKED bar
8. Befriend Chuck Norris
9. Eliminate Mac before he creates super zombies

And for those old enough to remember when the Crue came out, an early video of Public Enemy #1:
YouTube - Motley Crue public enemy #1 ( video ) original issue

Alright... voting is closed on the February ZPOTM... Just started working on the February segment.

It was a landslide... February's ZPOTM will be... drumroll... Befriending Chuck Norris.

Stay Tuned... Episode 2 of Frequency Z will be out before the end of the month!

Sounds the same as the tank plan with the same drawback. What do you do for fuel and parts? If you run out of fuel or break down, you become canned food for the zeds.

Sorry I haven't been active lately, I'm fighting a pinched nerve in my neck and it feels like a demented monkey with an ice pick playing mumble peg on my neck.

this is a question that might become a plan with a little help...what are some of the ways of controlling the zombies to create a zombie workforce? any pros and cons to trying?

Here's a good place to start: http://web.mit.edu/newsoffice/2000/monkeys-1206.html
Then we'd just have to figure out how to reverse the signal into a 'meat arm' controller. I like the idea and it's been used in some zombie fiction with the controller performing quite the variety of tasks with the corpses...

Dang man! I thought I was onto something there.

I think you are onto something, but more suited for the zombie tool section. Having a recon vehicle like that would be awesome, but as mentioned, having a broke down vehicle with no other plan, and you are gonna end up as zombie food. As an addition to a working z-day plan, its great.

As far as training zombies, in theory, another great idea. The problem, and this is only an opinion, is that when the dead are reanimated, they are only reanimated with the very basic of instincts-walking and eating. I would think that if they were capable of being trained, they would already have enough sense not to eat human flesh. For this reason, I think that they are un-trainable.

Maybe they can be tied to a plow and a fresh human leg hung in front of them and use them like oxen?

Hope you feel better soon Vap- or at least get some really good painkillers. Maybe that rum that you spoke of?

I agree that they're not directly trainable Mutt. It would take some sort of implant for creating a zombie workforce- similar to Vap's link, but then you have the joy of implanting the implant- not trivial to do safely. I'm not even sure if you can knock a zombie out. It seems that they're either conscious and after you or have an exploded head.

Hmm fresh leg ahead..full fresher brain steering from behind...not liking the zombie plow idea so much.

I like the recon vehicle- with an enclosure, or electrified lower struts so the zombies can't climb. If you have enough of them you don't have to worry quite so much about break downs.

Probably best to hook them up to a wheel of pain a la Conan vs 'training'. I thought CES was going for a remote control collar instead of something like they used in Fido. I'm not sure I'd want a group of zombies around my food source under the best of conditions though. Contamination factor would be high! Maybe a zombie powered tread mill/water wheel type thing? Just something where you could distance yourself from the horde and reap the benefits... !!! Treadmills on hill climb elevation surrounding the perimeter wall. The zombies would tirelessly try to climb to the top and generate electricity for the survivors inside the wall. All while preventing the horde from climbing or stacking up a pile in front of the walls. I think I like that idea better than a rock 'em-sock 'em zombie game. Well... maybe.

Nice catch CES...the student has become the teacher....

It's scary that I came up with that in about a 20 second time span and then it occupied the engineer side of my brain for hours. Logistics for gearing the wheels to the generators, digging access tunnels and pits for repairs (still working that part out to minimize infection threat), capacitance discharge electrified fence and recharge rates on a per 10' section basis, optimum/maximum tread path length and degree of inclination... I kinda wish there would be an outbreak just so I could get some practical experiments in! Maybe I could sell the idea to Toyota since they're big on 'green energy' commercials lately :D
