Hello and welcome back for another review. Today I will be taking a look at the Lost Vape Centaurus P200 Box Mod that was sent to me by Sourcemore. I’ve not been able to get a response lately from my Lost Vape rep for an unknown reason but Sourcemore was kind enough to allow me to review this Lost Vape Centaurus P200. It is much appreciated. The P200 makes use of dual 18650 batteries with an output range of 5-200 watts. It is powered by the Quest 2.0 chip which has been used in many Lost Vape devices. This one is a little different as it uses a dial with step-less adjustment of output without a display screen. It is targeted at 510 RBA tanks with its solid connection frame. It also has interchangeable panels for personalizing appearance.

INITIAL THOUGHTS:

The packaging for the P200 has the Lost Vape Quest logo and name printed in a smaller font than what I would expect but appreciate the reserved branding. There is also a very nice color picture of the actual device contained inside. Near the bottom is the Centaurus name along with the P200 Box Mod printed below it with smaller font. The back of the box has the usual contents list and company information. There is also a bar code with the color name “Blue Thunder” and an authenticity code.

Once opened, inside the mod is found wrapped in a soft cover along with a USB-C charging cable, user manual, and warranty card.

The P200 makes use of dual 18650 batteries to supply the 5-200 watts of output. Both side panels are removable which allows the user to customize the appearance. I personally haven’t seen them yet but would think that spare panels might be available. The battery tray has a cloth strap to assist in removing the batteries. However, if an external charger isn’t available then the P200 offers a 5V/2.35A charging rate if it’s necessary to charge them in the mod. The battery polarity is marked inside the tray but with it being the same color then it’s a little hard to see. It would have been nice if the polarity markings had been done in white.

The 510 top plate is centered and held in place by three screws. The 510 center pin is spring loaded and plated for better contact. The 510 plate is large enough to fit most tanks on the market without any overhang. I’m sure as soon as I say that then someone will say “what about my 50mm rda?” The top is made strong with rda users in mind.

Both of the side panels have the Centaurus logo on them. One side has the Lost Vape name printed on it while the opposite side has the Centaurus name on it. The panels are held in place by two strong magnets and I experienced no movement in the side panels while using the mod. The tolerance seems to be very good on the fit up.

The P200 does not have a display screen despite making use of the Quest 2.0 chip. Instead there is the fire button which is used to turn on/off the mod like most devices with 5 presses of the fire button. There is also an LED sitting behind the fire button that illuminates. The color of the LED lets the user know what the battery level is. The colors used are shown in the picture below.

The fire button is located near the top of the mod with a nice metal ring around it that matches the color of the mod. Below that is the wattage adjustment knob. It can be adjusted from 1-5 with step-less adjustment in between. I personally found it a little awkward to adjust but like with most mods that I use, I got it set where I liked it and left it there with no further adjustment necessary. There is an indented arrow on the center of the knob to show the user where they are and is deep enough that I was able to use a fingernail to turn the adjuster.

FINAL THOUGHTS:

The Centaurus P200 box mod is a powerhouse but is also a very simplistic device. I’ve become accustomed to having a display screen so this one was a little foreign to me. I have used mechanical mods before but normally use regulated mods with display screens. It is good that the P200 has an LED light that at least lets the user know approximately how much battery level is remaining. For me it’s a set it and forget it type of situation. Once I got it set where I liked it then I just left it there. If you like to switch tanks a lot then this might not be the best device for you. It’s not that it’s hard to set the output but it is a little inconvenient and unless you pay close attention then you might have a little trouble getting it back to where you had it set previously. I honestly was surprised to see a device like this from Lost Vape. It does have an output range of 6-8.4V and the dual batteries seem to last a long time. I think I am just spoiled by having adjustment buttons for wattage and a display screen to see exactly where I have the output set. Like any other dual battery mod it is a little big but rather lightweight due to the plastic construction. I personally don’t see myself using this one long term despite being a Lost Vape fan.
