Ah, yeah, forgot that, but it was just for the day of and that night.
Yes, my first pair of bi-focals were progressive. Adjusted just fine, but hated them. It was long before I retired, and I needed to look at blueprints and such a lot of the time, got tired of needing to keep moving my head to see the prints. Following pair were lined, and I could once again just move my eyes. So a large area for close work, and a large upper area for distance. With the tri-focals you get a large area for middle, like dashboards and such.
I did have that option, or get the new lenses both in either close or distance, which would then require glasses for the other end, so still needing glasses. And what do they do when/if your prescription changes? I went with no correction and kept my tri-focals.
