Heather's Heavenly Vapes - THE BIG THREAD (Part 6)

Good morning,

Hope y'all had a great holiday season and winter so far (as much as winter can be enjoyed). I've been staying busy. My truck remains in good running order. Bought a new car to replace the Jeep. The Jeep is running and looking great but it has 160,000 miles on it and I want a car that will last the rest of our lives (at least our driving lives). There are basically three carmakers that can do that. Honda, Toyota, and Mazda. So I bought a 2024 Mazda CX-5 with 30,000 miles on it. One previous owner (a lady). Women (and most men to be fair) don't drive like maniacs so I'm guessing those 30,000 feminine miles were very nice, soft miles. :)

Mazda was once a great car back in the 80s and 90s. Then they went to crap in the 2000s but have made a resurgence these past 7-10 years. Much of it because they have partnered with Toyota. They even share a plant in Alabama where they make Toyotas and Mazdas right next to each other. Mazda quality is right there with Honda and Toyota now but without the "Toyota Tax" (their upcharge for their high quality image). I'll post pictures soon.

Hope y'all are doing well.
My brothers grand cherokee was perfect up till one day the tranny went.. He also went with a cx-5 and has been happy with it. My 2015 grand cherokee I bought at 131k and it's now over 155. I love that car so much, but only drive it maybe once a week if that since I'm always in the work truck.. My wife's cherokee is pretty solid, but for the once a year time it bugs out and stops working. Loose something related to engine mounts that are failing cause it to go haywire about once a year. My next vehicle will be a 70s- 80s car with no electronics whatsoever.

Evening.. Hope everyone is doing well. Nice ride Bronze. Winter has sucked. We still have a foot of snow on the ground from the storm. It's been too cold to melt any of it. But the forecast shows temps in the 30s next week. That'll help but we need to stay that way for awhile. I didn't work this past week but am going back Wednesday. I was in the hospital early Monday and had to stay overnight. Nothing serious just getting the plumbing flushed. (Hydros Aquablation). I've been calling it an Old Age Treatment.:) My son had a stroke a couple weeks ago. He's back in his apartment but not able to drive. He'll be doing therapy. He's 48 and they think it was a blood clot. He's recovering well but has a ways to go.. Needless to say this year is not off to a good start.

Random DIY mixing and More

It wasn’t. Everything in their house is rigged. They had installed the refrigerator line originally with a needle valve on the pipe. The needle valve was leaking and the packing nut was stripped. Also the copper line going to the fridge was kinked in two places. I went to the hardware store and bought a sharkbite shutoff valve and got rid of the needle valve. Then there was no water coming through the 1/4 tubing up to the refrigerator. It was plugged right where it goes into the fridge so cut that out and made a new connection. Four hours later I’m back home.
Sorry that was such a pain.

Hope the fix is easy.
