Failing Coil

The thing that matters is the wick. Wires themselves last a highly variable amount of time. Thick wires can last a year. Really thin ones a week or two. Mesh is about the same. With rebuildables you often dont replace the wire, just the wick, and it’s so incredibly cheap you can do it daily if you want to.

I'm asking because I wasn’t sure if I should fill my next tank and let it sit for several days before I’m ready to use it. I don’t want my wick to start degrading if it sits for a long time before using it. Sounds like I need to wait a few minutes after filling my pod until Im ready to use it. I might try the wick replacement if it’s really easy. I have a disability that limits my ability to use my right hand, so it must not be too difficult, but it does sound like something I will consider. I will Google mesh because I don’t know the difference between mesh and wick. I'm using 25mg flavorless salt nic, so it sounds like that might help me some. Great info, thanks for your help.

Hello everyone! “Happy” Labor Day Weekend! I put happy in quotes because it’s actually kind of sad to me. The unofficial end to summer. I love the fall but don’t do well during the dark months.

Anyways, I’m breaking down and want to buy a pod system just to check it out. Plus I haven’t bought anything vape related for awhile and I have MAJOR Shinyitis withdrawals lol!

I’m looking at a

YIHI SXMINI PUREMAX 2 35W POD SYSTEM

But my only concern is the 3ml pod but everything else about it like the tip shape, slim battery and other chip features.

Does anyone have any other suggestions that include the small round tip and size that might have a bigger refillable pod? Or if it want it this small then I’m pretty much looking at just 2ml pods?

I’m buying extra pods but I know nothing about pods. Can they be sealed to carry around or no - I just need to carry juice with me?

I’m a heavy vaper and need something AT LEAST 35 watts.

Any suggestions are welcome!!

If you want a small pod then I think you’re probably stuck with the 2-3ml capacity. I have tried several but haven’t tried the one you’re looking at. I am currently using the Xros Pro as a pocket carry at work. I use the 3ml .4 ohm pods. It doesn’t go up to 35 watts but I find that the .4 pods run fine in the 20-25 watt range.

The Lurker Thread

Good morning Dale

I had to take Thursday off to drop my car at the dealership :) Can’t remember if I’d said. Middle of August we took it for its yearly inspection. The check engine light came on two days prior, turns out it wouldn’t pass and that gm had put out a special coverage in ‘23 for the evaporative emissions purge pump. It is all fixed and inspected now thank goodness.

How’s your daughter in law doing?

Sorry both you ladies took a spill. Hope you’re both ok!

Summer is officially over for us. Our traditional visit to the State Fair was yesterday. Perfect day for it but yeeesh, I need to get back on track. I am so out of shape and my muscles were cursing at me by the time we left  Kiddo goes back to school on Tuesday. His very last first day of high school. :( I’m feeling that big time too. Such a bittersweet time in life. Hormones are a mess. I’m a mess LMAO!

This too shall pass. Maybe I should make THAT my first tattoo

Hope you all are having a nice start to the day!

Going to work a bit on the Sunbox squonker today, I've rejected a lot of ideas, but I'm starting to like the last one.
Making frames without a micro mill is a lot of work for very little progress.
There will be three supports that will be glued together into one unit.

For the future I need to invest in a micro mill machine, they are not expensive but not cheap either, around $400, plus there will be extra equipment & milling tools on top of that.

Aggies won 42-24.
I don't follow any American sports, don't understand them.

My gran's name was Aggie, and she got it from me. Her actual name was Benzie. When I was a baby she tried to teach me my letters. She would lean over and say A, B, C every time she saw me. I tried to copy her but it came out as Aggie. That became her name for the rest of her life.

Failing Coil

No matter what brand of drop-in coil you're using (ie. GeekVape, Innokin, Eleaf, etc.) gradually developing a nasty, bad taste when using the same coil for a while...means you need to install a new coil. The old one is getting full of black gunk. The more sweetener and flavoring there is in the eliquid you're using, causes it to happen earlier...rather than later.
Some flavors are better than others, but no flavoring or no nic can change the game. “Longer lasting coils” is generally BS though. They all last about the same amount of time. They can do a month or more, but they get filled upo after about 5 days. There were som cleanable ceremic and glass wicks for a while. They had other problems though.
Coil cartridge or rebuildable. It’s all about what you are willing to put up with. Some do.

Morning shinies ;)

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What is the difference between them?
More efficient build and wick imo. My only 2 cons for the dr solo are the the top cap doesn't come off therefore harder to clean efficiently and lower volume; would much rather have a wider glass width wise. I do appreciate the shorter chimney/glass and don't mind glass overhang (as long as the base itself has no overhang). Flavor is a tick above better than the mr and wicking is so easy, no thinning required at all. The way the deck is set up you can nearly vape it dry before filling. I still enjoy the mrs but the sheer convenience of the solo build/wick knocks the mr down a notch (with the exception of cleaning). Honestly if all I need is a dry burn and rewick on the solo it takes half the time; of course the trade off is I spend a bit more time filling more often. Wordy explanation but I'm sleepy and probably repeating myself too much.lol
