(con't AGAIN)
Start at a 24mg nicotine content juice if you smoked about a pack a day from the blue can. If, like I was, you were down to half a pack, I'd go with an 18mg juice. My second beginning vaper mistake was starting at 12mg, and finding it just wasn't cutting it. Getting the right nicotine strength, plus the right equipment to start with can get you to the point, pretty damn fast, that you just don't want to smoke cigarettes anymore. They don't taste as good, in my opinion, and I really liked the flavor of American Spirits. I have half a can left sitting on the table over there that I haven't even thought about touching in a week.

If you have any questions, or just want to talk, feel free to drop me a line anytime.

I started with the Katana kit from VapeDojo.com. The battery is small for stealthy vaping if you need it, it's REALLY simple to use. I just picked up a spare battery and some juice the day I got it to make sure I'd be set up for a bit. My suggestion for getting at least two clearomizers is because I didn't think of it myself, and totally regretted it. Looks like the Dojo is out of stock right now, but shop around. There's a great list of vendors here on the Forums to choose from. Instead of a starter kit, which usually has 650mAh short batteries, you can go to the next step and get something like the Ego Twist, a Vision Spinner - they're variable voltage, which gets a little complicated, but basically means you can send more power to the clearo, burn the juice a little hotter, which can get you better flavor and throat hit. How to do VV right takes a little research, but there are a LOT of threads and helpful people on ECF.
Bananas, welcome to ECF! You're on the right track to cutting way back, or even quitting smoking. Yes, even with it costing more to start up - I know, I rolled my own from my favorite blue can, I know exactly where you're coming from. Everyone else talks about breaking even at some point in the near future after not buying $8-15 a pack cigs anymore.. Hell, my can lasted me most of a month, so trying to get away with only spending $35 a month on vaping? It'll be a while. So from one American Spirit smoker to another, here's my suggestion for how to start: Get yourself an eGo starter kit.Shop around, see what's available, but what you really want is two batteries, at least two clearomizers, a charger, and some juices.

(ECF only lets me post 1000 character messages, so this'll be broken up into chunks. Grr)
Hi sorry i didnt see your message until today, I was amazed at the response to the topic, it was somthing i wanted people to think about as you say our right to vape could be taken away at anytime, the more people who join the beter.
I would ask the topic to become a sticky but no idea who or were to ask as it would be great for new vapers to read, UNDERSTAND AND JOIN ;-) thanks again for your message ;-)
Good to meet you:toast:! Hope to stop hopping around too much soon to shoot the breeze a little more, even though I'm drooling pretty bad from grill envy:p!
