Hello and welcome back. I’m pleased to be back with you today to take a look at the new Innokin Ares Finale that was sent to me by Innokin in order to provide you with a fair and honest review. The Finale is a rebuildable tank atomizer that has a 4.5ml liquid capacity and can be used for both MTL and RDL vaping styles. It has a rather ingenious airflow control design which is being described as a dual airflow adjustment which I will cover in more detail later. I have to admit that I personally wasn’t a big fan of the last Ares RTA but know that many liked it. I’ll give my thoughts on this latest version toward the end of this review.

INITIAL THOUGHTS:

As usual, the packaging for the Ares Finale is nice and has a feeling of quality. There is a nice color picture on the front of the device inside along with the Innokin and Ares Finale names in a white font. It’s a nice touch that the 4.5ml capacity is listed on the front. The back side of the box has the normal contents list along with company information for Innokin. The sides of the box have the Platform Series logo and lets you know that it was designed in cooperation with P. Busardo and Vapingreek. Both have had a long time relationship with Innokin and have helped to design many products.

You might notice the blue tab sticking out the side of the box in the picture above. This isn’t your standard top/bottom box design but instead the contents slide out through the side of the box. Initially when the inner box is slid out, there is a picture of P. Busardo and Vapingreek etched into a blue background. Once that is lifted then the Finale can be seen in a blue insert along with a spare glass section. The Ares Finale name is printed on that insert also. The Finale comes with a lot of accessories as you can see in the second picture below. The contents were listed earlier in this review so don’t see a need to list them again. I will however mention that it is nice that there are two different coiling tools included in the kit. There are also two drip tips included. The MTL tip is long and skinny. It is the one pre-installed on the tank. There is also an RDL tip included in the accessories. To me it is fitting that the MTL tip is pre-installed since in my opinion it is really more of an MTL tank than an RDL tank.

As always, the first thing you really should do is break down the tank for a thorough cleaning. I usually use a glass cup or small bowl and clean the tank with a drop of soap and very hot tap water in order to get rid of any residual machining oil that may have been left behind. You might notice the key in the picture below with the Ares Finale name etched on it. That is included with the tank kit so you can unscrew the chimney to fully disassemble the tank.

I received one each of the Onyx and Silver versions for my review. I am normally a silver tank person but really like the aesthetics of the black version. Both use a 510 drip tip. There are notches cut into the top cap and the outer ring is knurled to assist with getting a proper grip when removing or installing the ¼ turn top cap. I really like on the black version how the black is broken up by the stainless rings. The Ares Finale name is engraved on the chamber barrel. The outside of the deck is also knurled like the top cap which gives it a cohesive appearance as well as assisting in gripping the base for removal.

Once the top cap is removed, there are two fill holes found underneath surrounded by a white gasket. The holes aren’t the largest but I had no issues filling the tank with the bottles that I commonly use. However, with a glass dropper type bottle I could see it being a little messy as there’s always some liquid residue on the outside of the glass dropper.

The bottom of the tank has same branding as we saw on the packaging on the Ares Finale. Honestly, I can see putting the name of the tank on the bottom but the rest is unnecessary. I’m sure by now we’ve seen the other branding enough that we know who designed the tank.

The Ares Finale has a liquid capacity of 4.5ml. I never really used the previous versions of the Ares except for the version 2 and was one of very few that really didn’t care for it. It is my understanding that the different versions of the Ares are very similar. The Ares 2 had a round dial under the coil but was a little hard to turn. The Finale has improved upon this by adding an underneath the coil airflow adjustment with a lever that sticks out for easier adjustment. The deck on the Finale has been redesigned with side by side posts where you slide the coil legs through holes in the posts and tighten the coil in place using the slotted head screws. The deck on this one is really very easy to build using the included coils. Of course, on this type of deck you want to make sure to trim the coil legs as close as possible to the posts to keep them from touching the chamber once the tank is assembled. Rather than having wick holes, there are just half circle notches cut out where you tuck the wick ends into. It’s still a good idea thin the tails some to keep from choking off the liquid flow once the chamber is screwed over the deck. I made sure to make the wick long enough to reach the bottom of the deck.

The Ares Finale has a really neat airflow control. The airflow can be altered not only at the deck but also on the bottom of the deck. There is a single large hole followed by six honeycomb holes, then five, four, three, two, and then one single hole for a very tight MTL. The combination of the deck airflow control, the multiple options on the airflow ring, and the “Vortex Bell” create a very flavorful vape.

FINAL THOUGHTS:

I have to admit that I was fairly cynical about how the flavor production was going to be on the Ares Finale. As I always try to do, I gave it a fair shot and used the included coils as I think that the reason that the manufacturers include coils is to optimize the performance on the user’s initial impression. Both of the included coils read very close to the 1.0 ohm rating on mods that I used for testing the tanks. It was considerate of Innokin to include some extra wire along with the two coiling tools.

Since I was provided with two tanks for testing, I decided to try a different coil placement in each one. In one tank I placed the top of the coil even with the top of the posts. The second tank I lowered the coil about centered it with the posts. I put the same liquid in both for a comparison to start. It was a chocolate donut mix. To me it took a while to break in the coil and wick in both but once they were broken in then the flavor difference was pretty noticeable to me. The tank with the higher coil placement had much better flavor production to me. So much so that I opened the other tank and raised the coil. I’ve been fortunate enough to have a little over two weeks to test the tanks so ran some different mixes in the two tanks. My favorites were a custard cream tobacco in one and a NET tobacco and cookie mix in the second. I have to say that I was very pleasantly surprised at how much I ended up enjoying these tanks. In my opinion they are really designed for MTL more than RDL. I ended up running both with the single large hole and the deck airflow open along with the long MTL tip for a really nice loose MTL type of vape.

Hi all, I know the title sounds stupid but bear with me.

My friend has asked me to try and build a vape that can hold 4 cartridges, specifically those generic cartridges that have 1-2 ohm resistance. I've been told about many ways to try and build a circuit but it's like guesswork trying to figure out if it will work. Safety is the obvious issue here, I want to be able to use the fire button to turn the device on and off like most vapes on the market.

I've heard running 4 510 connectors in parallel will run at sub-ohm resistances, and that it's recommended to have some sort of voltage regulation or PWM controller to fire a mosfet.

How would you guys tackle such a situation?

Of the 5 flavors I received, the Cola was the only one I felt was a tad bit off. To me, it tasted more like a root beer than a cola. However, I am a fan of root beer, so I enjoyed this pod anyway. The Energy Drink pod was pretty accurate to what I'd consider an energy to taste like, and that's pretty much sweetness, or sugar. It's a conglomeration of fruits is the best way I can describe it. The rest of the flavors tasted like candy versions of watermelon, sour apple, and pink lemonade - they all tasted great. One thing to consider is that they are pretty heavy with mint cooling. On the initial draw, it's almost entirely mint, but on the exhale is where you pick up the other flavorings. If you're a fan of mint, these will certainly suit your needs.

With no puff indicator or anything of the sort, there's really no way for me to gauge if these are actually lasting 5000 puffs. From my experiences with other disposables that advertise around 5000 puffs, the RC5000 has certainly kept up.

One big positive note that I'd like to add is that I live in MN. We've had a week or two this winter where our temperatures have dropped into the single digits, and even 10 or 15 below. Of all the vapes that I test in my car on my hour and a half commute to and from work, the RC5000 is the only one of them that was left in the car that has been able to be picked up and vaped w/out having to be plugged in to warm up the battery. This is certainly a big deal for anyone living in colder climates.




You may have noticed that the pre-filled pod in the package photo (up a few photos) has a bit of juice leakage in it. I wasn't able to get this Cola pod to stop from its very slow seepage that kept making its way to the bottom of the assembled device, but it didn't render the pod useless. I was still able to vape the pod, but avoided putting it in my pocket and kept it sitting on a paper towel. Fortunately, this was the only pod of the 5 I received that had any leakage issues. If you do encounter a leakage like this and you don't want to return it, you can still safely vape it. There should be no concern about being electrocuted or anything like that. This is the only con I encountered during my testing.

The cookie base = FA Vanilla Cookie and FA Zeppola. Combined they make a wonderful soft baked cookie. FA Vanilla Cookie adds pleasant vanilla and butter notes. Zeppola helps to fill out the cookie profile and aids in creating more of a "soft baked" cookie. WF Crumble Topping adds to the overall cookie profile, but, more importantly, it also adds it's own very special "crumble" notes to the mix.

FA Custard Extra 1 and SSA Clotted Cream add body and mouthfeel, plus a beautiful, but not heavy, creaminess. FA Custard Extra 1 is a fairly mild custard, with a near zero egg note. As I've noted previously (another thread), a custard paired with clotted cream are heavenly. The clotted cream allows one to "temper" a custard, allowing one to push/pull custard notes as desired.

INW Raspberry (Malina) and FA Raspberry (Berryl) make the perfect "baked raspberry" profile for any mix.

Do Not....... let the low raspberry percentages fool you!!! This mix is raspberry forward. FA and INW raspberries are very highly concentrated flavors. That is especially true of INW Raspberry (Malina)!!!

In this mix, the raspberry is nearly as it should "taste" in the real life bakery itself. My wife made raspberry tart cookies a few months back, this mix is based on those.

This can be made minus the raspberries for a rather flavorful bakery mix. I vaped quite a bit that way before adding the raspberries, so I could get the base as desired.

Any fruit, or fruit combo, will work well with the base mix.

I made one version with 1.3% FA Walnut, was tasty, it added a nice smooth, yet light, nuttiness. FA Walnut is more of a raw English walnut. It does not have the sharper flavor of black walnuts. There is no bitterness; it's very slightly sweet. A mild tasting nut flavor.

Hello and welcome back for today's review of the Argus Pro 2 from Voopoo. This Argus version joins the ever growing Argus family of pod devices with some nice features including a internal 300mAh battery, power locking switch and has a built in lanyard holder for those of you that like using lanyards. The Argus Pro 2 has a maximum power output of 80 watts and has 3 power modes to choose from and uses the PnP X line of coils. Shortfills from the Polish manufacturer Lqdr may already look familiar to some of you, as the guys at juicyvapour sell them at very good prices and in a wide range in their store. Legendary juice is a premium and limited edition in lemon, strawberry and dragon fruit flavours.
When you open the bottle, you can smell a fragrant and tart fruit blend, which you can guess will have acidity and sweetness. The flavour brings the usual intensity and flavour par excellence of lqdr fruit. The dragon fruit is juicy and refreshing, with a subtle tartness, a little reminiscent of gooseberries. It takes the lead nicely in the steaming, with the other fruits adding support. The lime's role is acidity, taken down a notch to maintain the dragon fruit flavour as the default setting. And finally there's the queen of red fruits, strawberries. It doesn't show up much in flavour, which isn't its job, but it does add an extra something to the scent while steaming, a subtle tartness to the steam that makes it even more pleasant to use. The overall effect is an acidic and sweet fruit cocktail that brings the usual level of flavour. Perhaps it even goes above and beyond, as it has just received a "premium" label from the manufacturer's pen, which gives it the right to use the not at all exaggerated term "legendary fruit".
Unfortunately, you won't find this product on juicyvapour's list, but the manufacturer has several lines in their range, more than one of which you'll have read about in my taste tests.

Deep fried pasta sticks, pan fried, dipped in brown sugar, fragrant and fresh.
One of my favourite brands is Croatian fairy tale, a range of 14 flavours, showcasing more and more delicious dessert flavours.
It smells of vanilla and cinnamon baked pastry, which is the perfect resemblance to sweetness. Vanilla, cinnamon, baked pastry and sweetening. These flavours take turns like this, like when the kindergarteners queue up in the dining room to sit down at the table. The vanilla and cinnamon melt into one to flavour the dough, mixing into the dough rather than just sprinkling at the end of baking. The dough is a real doughnut, you can taste the baked, almost slightly toasted taste of the sugar, sweet and soft, just as it should be. I have a feeling about churros like Christmas gingerbread. Knead all the goodness and spices together in a dough, then pop it in the oven and it's ready for a fragrant and delicious nibble. A perfect and simple treat for any sweet tooth. I admit, I almost consumed all 120ml of the soup before the test, blinking and looking at the bottle in bewilderment as to where the contents had gone, which I had only just opened.
To sum up the product: a disappointing, good value, delicious and fragrant soup. The churros product of the "fairy tale" range proved that a simple doughnut can be great, among similar products with all sorts of overcomplicated flavours.
