Officially taking that step over to Rdtas/RDAs. Wish me good good luck in my travels lol.

So I have officially purchased my first RDTA and my First RDA today. Got them from a fellow member on this forum. He gave me a good deal for sure. I got a black ijoy limitless classic and a black geekvape Tsunami. The limitless is going on my geekvape aegis x mod. Which is my main mod right now with a Zeus sub ohm tank. And the Tsunami is going to go on my ram squonk mod that picked up at my local vape shop for 10 bucks. I am looking forward to giving squonking a try as I have never done it yet. Would love to hear from some season rebuild able vapers on your opinion of my new upgrades or some pointers. I pretty sure I will be fine as I have built tiny ham radios and other things for that hobby. So I have pretty comfortable with working with wire lol. But yeah please let me know what you think. And thank you for all the help in advance.

Uwell Tenet Koko - Review by Javichu

Hiya folks.

Hope you all had a good weekend, time for another review of a pod device.
This device was sent to me by my friends at Sourcemore for the purpose of this review, the pod kit in question is the Uwell Tenet Koko.

As per my usual MO let us get started with some pics which should give you a general idea of what this device is and if it will be suited for your vaping needs.

Unboxing and first impressions:

Gotta say the box you get it looks pretty cool:

Lift the tab and there you got the pod and a little box on the side with everything you need to start huffing and puffing.
Gotta give Uwell the greatest of high fives, didn't skimp and included a second coil in this kit, that is always a good sign and it saves you in the case that one of the coils is a dud.
Doesn't happen often but sometimes it does, imagine getting this as a starter kit and either you accidentally burn the coil or maybe the coil was a dud,do not despair my friend you got a spare.

Small but rugged, while holding it you get good solid vibes due to the main body of the mod is made of Aluminum Alloy.
I got the red & black and it looks pretty awesome, black on the lower part of the pod then fades away to being totally red on top, awesome paint job and then small touches like rivet like finishing on it just gives it a nice look.

Also have a small slit in the pod right below where the cartridge is so you can see the level of e-liquid,seems Uwell thought of everything.

Vaping time:

I had some nic salts leftover from some previous pod reviews so i decided to start with that.
Decided to use the 1.2ohm coil first and yeah this might be small but it does pack a punch, used that coil for about a day and a half until i switched to the 0.8ohm coil.
The 0.8ohm i enjoyed a bit more since it was a bit more like my style of vaping, this pod has airflow control which i kept fully open for the duration of the time i was using it.
Not a MTL user, like never i mean apart from reviews i am strictly a DL (restricted) so i had to dual use this pod with my usual vaping device but a couple of hits with the Tenet Koko sure kept the nic needs in check.

As opposed to the Caliburn Tenet (none Koko) this one doesn't have a fire button, just pure auto draw...when i found out this part had me a bit worried but do not despair the auto draw worked like a charm every time.

Difference between a ''just good'' product and a GREAT product is the attention to detail,or at least that is my personal opinion.

Small things like the small slit that shows the current level of e-liquid,its located right where the cartridge is so just a quick peek and you know if its time to fill er' up or not.
Other things like the haptic vibration,if the battery is below 30% you will get a slight vibration, that right there is a good feature to have because it will remind us its time to charge the pod.

Apart from that you also got a LED light at the bottom right near the charging port that will use 3 different colors depending on the level of the battery:

-Green 100% to 60%
-Blue 60% to 30%
-Red if the the battery is 30% or under.
If 30% or under that the LED will flash 10 times and you will get a vibration from the pod device.

Filling the pod?
Easy peasy, just grab the mouthpiece and rock it to one side and then back the other and it should be off, once off the fill port is right there so just jam the tip of your e-liquid bottle and squeeze.

Shape wise? well that is one thing i gotta comment on,you either love it or hate it.
In my case it just isn't for me,holding the pod is awkward, tried other brands of pod with similar shape and i can never seem to get the proper grip on it.
This is just my personal taste, this is not to blame on Uwell, maybe someone with smaller hands will find this pod comfortable to use,or maybe they just prefer the elongated taller and slimmer version...in that case the Uwell Tenet (no koko) should be what you are looking for.

Pros:

-Packagin,i mean the box where the is stored looks pretty cool.
-Design wise a bold choice from Uwell but it paid off, looks damn awesome
-Attention to detail, from the small slit in the pod so you can see your level of e-liquid to the rivet like finishing to the paint job, kudos on that
-Second coil in the box (huge pro)
-Performance wise these coils deliver the goods

Cons:

Can't really come up with any cons.
On a more personal note just the size/shape of the pod is what keeps me from using it as my everyday vaping device.
This is not a critique on Uwell,a lot of users like the small square shape and when they hold it in their hand it feels comfortable, for me that is not the case but then again i am weird so that is all on me

Would i recommend this device:

If you looking for a pod device that looks cool, performs like a charm and delivers a nice flavorful MTL vape this is the device you want.
If you prefer a taller not so square like pod just choose the Caliburn Tenet (no Koko),same performance but different shape...also the Caliburn Tenet has a fire button in case that is something you want.
But if auto draw is your thing you can't go wrong with the Koko,i huffed and puffed and not a single time did this device not deliver the goods.

Thanks to my friends at Sourcemore for sending me this device for review purposes.

ELEAF iJUST P40 POD MOD KIT review by hittman

I’m happy to be back with you for another review for JWEI (Eleaf). This time I was sent the Eleaf iJust P40 kit in order to provide you with a fair and honest review. The P40 is a simple, versatile, and portable kit. The kit consists of the iJust P40 mod that has an internal 1500mah with a charging rate of 5V/2A. I may have to plug it into my USB tester and check that charging rate later. You can probably tell from the name that is has a maximum output of 40 watts but is also adjustable from 10-40 watts in five watt increments. It’s a simplified output system with this type of adjustment and may not be a good fit for those that need to adjust output in .5 or 1 watt increments. Instead it adjusts in 5 watt increments. The P40 has what they are calling an intuitive battery level indicator which in reality is a three color battery level indicator that I’ve seen on many pod type devices.

Also included in the kit is the D20 Pod Cartridge. The D20 looks similar but is different from the GTL D20 pod tank that I reviewed with the iStick i40 kit. The main difference is that the GTL version had a 510 base that the pod connected to with magnets where the D20 is just the pod portion. It holds 3ml of liquid in the version I received but there is also a 2ml version available I’m assuming for the UK market. It is compatible with all GTL coils and is targeted at RDL and DL vapers.

INITIAL THOUGHTS:

I haven’t been doing reviews for Eleaf for very long but I continue to be pleased with their products. There is something attractive to me about a simplistic device after having reviewed and bought many other more complicated devices. The P40 comes in a basic package that I find appropriate for a device like this. Instead of the usual slide out box or two piece box with a wrap, the P40 comes with a frosted plastic cover on the front where you can only make out the color and the basic shape of the device. The name iJust P40 is printed on the front in large green lettering and there is the large warning on the bottom that has become common place with a lot of the samples I have been receiving. The back side of the box gives a contents list, specifications, company information, and another large warning on the bottom. I find it interesting that Eleaf included the filling hole diameter of 3.2mm in the specification list. I don’t know that I’ve ever seen another sample where this information is given.

1677359456429.png

To access the device you simply lift the plastic cover up from the convenient cut out on the bottom. The back side stays attached so the cover doesn’t come off completely. Initially the P40 with the D20 pod is sitting in a foam insert. There is not a coil pre-installed in the pod. Lift the foam insert and underneath is the user manual, warranty card, two coils, and a USB-C charging cable. The two coils included are the GTL .4 and .8 ohm coils. The GTL series coils are the same ones that came with the iStick i40 and can be used on a few other Eleaf products.

1677359504787.png

I received both the black and yellow versions but the yellow seems to show up much better for picture taking for the most part. One side of the mod has the iJust P40 name printed on it while the opposite side has the Eleaf name printed in a different orientation for design aesthetics. The body is made of plastic but the way that it is finished gives it the appearance of being made of a softer material. It is very smooth to the touch but not soft. Near the top on either side is the airflow inlet. The airflow is adjustable by moving the protruding tab on the back from side to side. The sliding control is a bit stiff at first and you should have no issue with it moving accidentally if carried in a pocket.

1677359538212.png

1677359571239.png

The P40 is a pod mod so of course it has a pretty standard pod mod opening on top. There is the metal ring that the magnets from the pod attach to which is secured by four small torx head screws. Below that are the two spring loaded contacts that make connection with the coil in the pod. There isn’t an airflow sensor in this one since it does not do auto draw. I think this would have been a good feature to add since the P40 only weighs in at 65 grams.

The bottom of the P40 is where we find the USB-C charging port that allows you to charge the 1500mah battery at a rate of 5V/2A. It seems like an odd place to me for them to locate the charging port but as lightweight as this one is, it might not stand up to charge anyway. Also located on the bottom there are three battery vent holes. Always a good safety feature to have in case a battery were to vent. It’s a small detail but I like that the USB charging port is recessed so when you sit it on a table or something the port isn’t making direct contact and picking up dirt and debris.

1677359608417.png

Now on to the front of the P40. It is adjustable using the + and – buttons located near the bottom of the mod. It is adjustable in 5 watt increments from 10-40 watts. It doesn’t have a standard screen. Instead as you adjust the wattage then that number is illuminated on the front of the mod. There is not a standard display screen with puff counter, resistance, etc. They were going for a very simplistic design with this one and they have accomplished that. The button operation is also simple with just pressing the fire button 5X to turn the device on or off. Above where the 40 watt indicator is located there is a single indicator light which tells you that it is being fired as well as telling you the battery charge level. The three battery levels are as follows.

  • Green = 60-100%
  • Blue = 20-59%
  • Red = <20%
1677359665995.png

The pod tank included is the D20 tank which has a 3ml liquid capacity for the standard kit which is what I received. The D20 is compatible with the iJust D20 and the GTL D20. All three use the GTL series coils. The top cap has a slide to fill operation. There is an arrow on the top cap indicating which direction to slide the cap to expose the 3.2mm fill port opening. If you look on the bottom of the top cap in the first picture you can see that there is a ball bearing on the underneath side and when you close the cap then you can feel that ball snap into place. The top cap has a decent amount of resistance without making it too hard to slide.

In the second picture below you can see that there are four magnets on the base of the D20 tank. These make contact with the metal ring in the pod opening on the mod to hold it in place. Honestly, I wish that the magnets were a little stronger. With a small device like the P40, I find myself resting a finger on the back of the tank and have popped up the back side of the tank multiple times until I trained myself not to rest a finger on the tank. The coils are a simple push in style. The drip tip is a 510 style but there is a shoulder built into the top cap so some tips that are wider on the bottom will not look right when used on this tank.

1677359736026.png

1677359778301.png

1677359805778.png

The coils included in the kit are the newer mesh style. One is a .8 ohm mesh which is rated for 12-18 watts for MTL and the other is a .4 ohm mesh which is rated for 20-30 watts for RDL use. These are the GTL series coils and are compatible with the iJust D20 and the GTL D20 tank.

FINAL THOUGHTS:

Eleaf set out to make a simplistic device that is user friendly and performs well. In my opinion they have accomplished just that. The 1500mah battery seemed to charge very quickly and when I attached my USB current tester it showed 1.72 amps while charging which is pretty close to the 5V/2A rating on the P40.

At a weight of 65g it is indeed very lightweight and portable. The sliding top cap clicks into place so I can’t quite figure out how it happened but one day before leaving work I put both of the P40 review samples in my coat pocket. When I got to my car and reached into my pocket to retrieve them, I got a wet hand. One of the sliding tops had slid open and dumped a couple of ml of liquid into my pocket. So, I guess the morale of the story here is to be careful when pocket carrying this. My best guess is that it somehow got opened prior to sticking it in my pocket since there wasn’t anything to catch on in my pocket.

Due to the small size of the P40, I had a tendency to rest my pointer finger against the back side of the pod tank and it would often lift up some. If the magnets were a little stronger then I feel like this wouldn’t happen.

I didn’t mind at all that the P40 adjusts in 5 watt increments. Both coils were very flavorful. I used the .8 ohm coil with a NET tobacco mix and very much enjoyed the flavor production at 15 watts. I was able to turn it up to 20 watts for a little warmer vapor but felt like it took away from the flavor production some so defaulted back to 15 watts for better flavor production. The .4 ohm coil was very good also and for this one I used an RY4 mix. The flavors came through very good with the wattage set at 25 watts. I ran both coils with the airflow wide open. The .8 ohm coil restricted the airflow due to its construction but with the airflow open it was a very nice loose MTL. The .4 ohm coil allowed much more airflow and with the airflow open it produced a nice RDL vape. I liked that the sliding adjustable airflow control was on the back while the actual airflow inlets were on the sides and had no issues restricting the airflow with my hand.

The P40 doesn’t have a puff counter so I can’t really tell you how many puffs I got with a charge but refilled both pod tanks several times and felt like I got very good battery life using both coils. For a 1500mah battery it seemed to last a long time. I ran each until the battery level indicator was red then would recharge and start over. I had zero leaking during my time using them.

I’d like to thank Eleaf and Adela for sending the Eleaf iJust P40 kits for this review. As always a big thank you to the readers. Below is a link to the Eleaf website. They have been around since my early days of vaping and one of my very first mods was an iStick. I get a little nostalgic when I use their kits.

Sub-Ohm tank users,what tanks/brand you using?

Hey there fellow vapers.

Thought i would open a thread to talk about Sub-Ohm tanks and see what everyone else is using at the moment.

I've been vaping and off the cigs for 3 years and change,i started with the usual ''starter kid'' then moved on to rebuildables.

But about 5 or 6 months ago i just got tired of the whole wicking thing, not a flavor chasing connoisseur so for me Sub-Ohm tanks are the best solution to my laziness hehe.
Minimum maintenance,no fuss and mess and it just suits me better, coil gets old i pop a new one,let it sit and voila! ready to go at it again.

Started with the Zeus Sub Ohm Tank, then moved on to the iTank but i didn't like the filling system,i just prefer the usual ol' school unscrew the top, fill the tank and then screw the cap back in.
I did love the coils from Freemax but unfortunately those i can't get here in Spain and ordering them from China would be just way too expensive.

For the last few months i have been using the Hellbeast 2 as my main tank, works like a charm and even better when i found out it's compatible with the GTi coils from Vaporesso.
Been using the 0.4 Ohm (50-60w) none stop since then, sweet spot is 2/3rds of the airflow closed and about 33 to 36 watts, right there is where i made my home.

Recently reviewed the Aspire U-Force L tank, gotta say the ol' PNPs and the new TW are top notch but the tank? meh...airflow ring just way too loose and the top cap isn't really that ''tight'',easily comes off when i take it out from my man bag to take a vape.

Also reviewed the Aspire Atlantis GT and yeah the coils were FANTASTIC but....side filling system is just a pain, not liking that part.

Main reason why i gave up on RTAs is just to make my life easier, simpler and with less hassle so for now the Hellbeast 2 (with GTi coils) is still going to be my main tank for daily use until something better comes along.

So for all you sub-ohm users out there, what are you using and why?

Aspire Atlantis GT - Review by Javichu

Hi there folks, hope y'all having a good weekend.

Time for another review, today i will be reviewing the Atlantis GT (designed by Taifun) that was sent to me by Aspire for the purposes of this review.

As part of my MO i will get us started with some pics that with a quick glance will let you know the type of device i will be reviewing today.

Unboxing and first impressions:

Slide the box from its sleeve and all is neatly tucked away, everything you need to start using the tank is right there:

1x Aspire Atlantis GT Sub Ohm Tank.
Atlantis SE coil 0.3Ω (30-40W) (Pre-installed)
Atlantis SE coil 0.18Ω (45-60W)
1x Spare intake base.
1x Spare Glass Tube.
1x O-Rings Pack.
1x User Manual.

Kudos and the highest of fives to Aspire for including a second coil, never know sometimes a coil is a dud and if they just give you one you up the creek without a paddle.

Taking the tank out of the box it reminds me of another tank but because i am a spanish fly that vapes i won't mention the name *wink wink*
Small tank diameter wise but weighs a hefty 74g,really well built just judging by its weight and looking at it.

Vaping time:

Ok so let us get started.
This tank comes with two intake bases that will further hone that ''sweet spot'' you looking for in your vape, included in the package you have 2 of them,3rd will be available separately later on.
The 2 intakes bases included are the φ1.2 and φ1.5mm,i tried both but i stuck with the φ1.5mm,it better suited my vaping needs.

Important that if you try both air intake base that you look at them thoroughly, preinstalled air intake base HAS the o-rings but the one in the baggie doesn't.
So you need to look closely at the preinstalled air intake base, remember where the o-rings go then put them on the spare air intake base.
This isn't mentioned in the instruction manual and its important information to have.

For the TDP version of this tank just a quick FYI,there is a small rubber band in the tank which you will have to remove if you want to go from 2ml capacity to 4ml,here is a pic of said rubber band:

Its marked with the red arrow, just grab a small flat screwdriver or any other sharp tool and pry it out.

Ok so the tank was given a thorough wash, dried out and ready to be used, used the preinstalled coil properly primed, put it all together and gave it 15 minutes so it would soak up the sweet nectar of the gods.

This tank has a side filling system, just rotate the top ring and it will ascend revealing the hole where to introduce the tip of your bottle of e-liquid,close it rotating in the opposite direction and all done.
Sometimes there was a drop or two of e-liquid when closing it but just pass your thumb over it and easy peasy no need to grab a paper towel to wipe it off, residue is minuscule.

Preinstalled coil is the Atlantis SE coil 0.3Ω (30-40W),with these type of coils i like to start low, huff and puff 2 or 3 times, wait then increment the wattage a bit and this over and over until i reach the desired and must sought off ''sweet spot''

With this coil i reached Nirvana at 28 watts with half of the airflow close, talking about airflow i loved the clicks you hear each time you spin the airflow ring.

This coil i used and abused until it wasn't usable no more, used it as my daily because it was soooo good.

One the Atlantis SE coil 0.3Ω (30-40W) was dead it was time to move to the Atlantis SE coil 0.18Ω (45-60W),even thou this coil also delivered the same excellent vaping experience but it was a bit too hot for me.

For this review i used my usual 70/30 at 6mg nic,Shiva aroma but this time with a hint of Vanilla added.
Gotta say both coils brought out all the flavors and then some, really impressed with these coils but again my favorite one was the 0.30ohms,that one just seemed to be designed expressly for my vaping needs.

Pros:

-Designed by Taifun,enough said.
-Metal outer sleeve means you won't break your glass ever again plus it looks cool.
-More customization than your regular Sub-Ohm tank, not just airflow but the air intake bases further lets you hone that vaping sweet spot we all crave
-Aesthetically wise it looks pretty cool, small'ish it kinda looks like a single coil RTA to be honest.

Cons:

Can't really name any cons with this tank on performance or build quality.
Feels high end but doesn't cost as much as a high end tank.
On a more personal note and this is just me,2 things to point out:

-Drip tip is a pain to take out, gotta wiggle and wiggle it out, because of the shape and its slippery nature it does take some effort in taking in out.
I am just one of those OCD people who likes to remove the drip tip 2 or 3 times a day and with a paper towel and wipe out the orifice where the drip tip goes, that is just my thing.

-Second ''personal'' con,the side filling system?
Not a fan to be honest but again this is just a personal preference,i just prefer the regular twist the top off,jab the tip of the bottle, refill and screw the top back in.
This is not really a con just a mere observation of the way i like things.

Would i recommend this tank:

Build quality? check
Looks good? check
Coils deliver? heck yeah,double check

So yeah if you looking for a good Sub-Ohm tank made to last and with really good and flavorful coils look no further, this one is made for you.

Thanks to my friends at Aspire for sending me this product so i could review it and thanks to everyone who took the time to read this review.
