► Eleaf FlasQ Pod Mod Kit; First Impressions:
Eleaf has always stood out for the search for captivating designs, this time the "challenge" for Eleaf was to create a Pod Mod device with an intelligent memory function equipped with a display, and which in addition to boasting a strong personality in design, could satisfy the widest possible audience of vapers. And here comes Eleaf FlasQ, available in a new and unique shape, similar to a flask, with a solid body entirely made of metal, therefore with an exquisite form factor to the eye but also quite ergonomic to handle. The other goal was to give FlasQ "universal" characteristics to satisfy both MTL "users" but also RDL ones. To do this Eleaf has leaned on an adjustable airflow system and its brilliant platform of GTL Coils, recently updated with the introduction of the special GTL Black Coils line. In the image below you can see FlasQ Pod Mod Kit alongside the new Eleaf iStick Power Mono, these two devices are fully compatible with each other as regards the use of GTL Coils.

► Eleaf FlasQ Pod Mod Kit; Screen and control keys:
On the "rear" panel, the only visible decorations are written in italics "Designed By Eleaf", + the display in block letters of the disposal logo and the C E trademark. On the main panel, the writing in italics "Eleaf" appears at the top. you can see; the slightly protruding circular fire button, the "+" and "-" adjustment buttons and a small monochrome display containing the essential data and information to keep you updated on the operation of the Mod.

* The interaction of the chipset with the various key combinations allows the following operations:
• Power On / Off: Press the Fire button 5 times.
• Wattage Recommendation: When a coil is detected, the chipset recommends the best wattage for the coil according to its used resistance.
• Memory function: You can freely adjust the power from 1 to 20W with 0.1W steps at a time, or between 20 and 40W with 0.5W steps at a time and according to your preferences, however after vaping at least twice, the chipset will remember the last wattage setting selected and used for the same resistor.
• Button lock / unlock: Press and hold the "+" and "-" buttons simultaneously.
• Stealth On / Off: Press the Fire and "-" keys simultaneously.
• 180 ° screen rotation: In the power off state, press the "+" and "-" buttons simultaneously.



► Eleaf FlasQ Pod Mod Kit; Type-C Charging Socket & Bottom Base:
On the bottom is a Type-C 5V / 1.5A charging port that allows you to fully recharge the 1370mAh battery in about half an hour. So the charging operations must be done with the mod lying down, however I would have liked FlasQ to stand vertically. Unfortunately the rounded shape of the bottom of FlasQ does not allow it to be positioned vertically, and this is perhaps the only aspect that I do not like about this beautiful device.



► Eleaf FlasQ Pod Mod Kit; Pod compartment:
The large upper opening to insert the cartridge contains two magnets and the contact pins which are gold plated, in addition there are two black round shaped rubber pads that protect the two slot of the screws from infiltrating dirt, and this is a particular hallmark construction accuracy by Eleaf!



► Eleaf FlasQ Pod Mod Kit; GTL POD:
Eleaf's new GTL cartridge is quite innovative, and is based on some rather important features, such as using a rapid "push-pop" coil "disengagement" system, this solution allows you to extract the coil quickly and simply by pressing the drip-tip. Furthermore, the external air intakes of the GTL coils will be completely inserted inside the cartridge, thus protecting the user from leaks and condensation which is the true Achilles heel of these devices. Then the air intakes of the coils will be hidden inside the cartridge, and will be powered by the system called "Dual U-Shaped Air Flow Channels", in practice a finely adjustable TOP AFC adjustment system to obtain precise MTL or RDL type extractions.



In the image below you can see the cartridge from the side, at the top there is the metal AFC adjustment system which consists of a rotating ring equipped with rotation stops, and an airflow of 10x2mm that can be completely partialized, completely closed, or fully open. The fixed type drip-tip is not replaceable because it controls the aforementioned "push-pop" system. The cartridge has a large capacity of 5ml of e-liquid. However, the cartridge was manufactured using very dark PCTG material which is not exactly ideal for clearly displaying the internal e-liquid level, and here I have to point out another small negative point.



The filling system is simple and really convenient, it consists of a rubber pad positioned high up on the pod and a large refill hole that places almost no limit on the size of the tips of the bottles on the market.



In the image below you can see the two pod magnets which are mirror images of those present in the mod. You can also observe how the coil is completely inserted inside the cartridge and with no external air intake, this feature together with the already described "Dual U-Shaped Air Flow Channels" makes it impossible the leaking or condensation. Nice Eleaf!



► Eleaf FlasQ Pod Mod Kit; GTL Coils:
Included in the FlasQ kit there are two different types of GTL-coils of the metal color series and they are; a 0.4Ω Mesh for RDL and a 0.8Ω Mesh for MTL. Also you can buy separately the GTL Black edition Coils which have been developed for both MTL and RDL and which all perform very well, with great flavor for a more than satisfying vaping experience. Another pride of Eleaf is to have made all GTL coils compatible with various types of cartridges and tanks, some examples of compatibility are; Eleaf iJust 3 GTL, Eleaf iSOLO AIR, Eleaf iSOLO R, Eleaf iStick T80 GTL, Eleaf iStick Power 2, Eleaf GTL Pod Tank, Eleaf GTL MINI Pod, Eleaf GTL Pod, Eleaf iStick Power Mono.



► Eleaf FlasQ Pod Mod Kit; Vaping test Final conclusions:
To test FlasQ Pod Mod I used an eliquid PG / VG 50:50 with concentrated aroma "Hypnos" diluted to 10% and with an additional boost of 3mg / ml.

• 0.4Ω GTL Mesh Coil with 20-30W range:
When using this resistor, the intelligent function of the chipset automatically suggests and sets a power of 26W, of course you can choose a different value and that is between 20 and 30W, this value will be remembered and set automatically after having made at least 2 puffs . RDL-type extraction recalls a position of the AFC open at least 50%, in this way you get a good flavor, big dense clouds and a decisive Hit (blow in the throat), the Mesh is responsive and works flawlessly and without "spit". Even at 20W which is the minimum recommended power, you get good performance and good battery life.

• 0.8Ω GTL Mesh Coil with 12-18W range:
When you use this coil for the first time, the Smart function selects by default a 13W power, the intelligent memory function allows you to set any other value between 12 and 18W remembering it even when you turn off the Mod and turn it back on. The responsiveness of the Mesh allows satisfactory use starting from 12W, personally I like to set at least 16W and adjust the AFC open for about 1/3, in this way I get a concentrated flavor with the best possible perception of the nicotine present in my e- liquid. What really struck me about this resistance is the impressive amount of vapor it can emit with such low selected powers, all this to the advantage of battery life and vaping autonomy which are both decidedly prolonged.

The FlasQ Pod Mod substantially has two fundamentally opposite characteristics, one is that of having a rather ergonomic original factor form, and the other characteristic is that of weighing 150g which are not few considering its compact size. The Zinc alloy construction of FlasQ makes it really a massive object, you certainly can't forget that you have it in your pocket, lose it on the street or leave it at the bar. For opposite reasons it often happens to me when I am distracted to lose too light disposable type devices. Some of my friends noticed the FlasQ Pod Mod and complimented me on its appearance, being surprised when they started handling it after discovering that it felt really solid and qualitative to the touch. At the end of this test I can say that FlasQ Pod Mod has only the defect of not standing up, but there are many other positive features that push me to use it very willingly. The cartridge (apart from the too dark color) is really well designed and with a comfortable refill from the top you can even insert 5ml of e-liquid! The combined action of the internal airflow system with the "push-pop" prevents any loss or condensation. The chipset is not particularly feature-rich and the display lacks the puff counter, however this chip is really smart with its memory functions and automatic setting of the best power. Furthermore, the reading of the coils is stable and precise. The 1370mAh battery recharges in a short time (about 30 minutes) and has a duration that will accompany you throughout the day (if you are not too compulsive). So can I advise you to buy this device? There are a couple of aspects that can be improved, but also many innovative features, so for my personal taste and following my positive Vape test I want to promote FlasQ Pod Mod. So the answer is yes, I recommend it, because it is a truly device universal and based on the GTL coils you decide to use you can choose your RDL or MTL vaping mode with satisfaction and without inconveniences.

Hello and welcome back for yet another review from yours truly. The Vaporesso PT80S was sent to me by Sourcemore in order to provide you with a fair and honest review. Also to hopefully help you decide if it might be something that you would like to try for yourself. The PT80S is a pod mod that came out a while back but I never got a chance to test it out since I lost contact with Vaporesso for a while. Sourcemore was nice enough to agree to send it so I am happy to be able to present a review on it for you. The PT80S uses an 18650 battery to provide 5-80 watts of output and can be charged via the 5V/2A USB-C charging port. I may have to get out my USB tester and see if that holds true. The mod is made of some sort of plastic and is very lightweight even with a battery and tank installed. Although it’s plastic, it has a nice feel to the hand and reminds me of my old Revenger silk version as far as the hand feel. Included with the kit is the X Tank which has a 4.5ml liquid capacity and uses the tried and true GTX series of coils that incorporate the SSS leak-resistant technology with a liquid self-circulation system. Sounds pretty good on paper but let’s see how it performs.

INITIAL THOUGHTS:

I received the Aegean Blue version for my review. I actually requested the blue and was very happy that Sourcemore was able to oblige. The package for the PT80S is a little different from other Vaporesso samples I’ve received lately. Instead of being black and green, this one is white with a color picture of the device and the product name surrounded by colorful swirls. The back side of the outer sleeve contains a list of specifications, packing list, company information, and the product name and color listed above the bar code. In case you didn’t know it, Smoore Technology is the parent company of Vaporesso.

After sliding the outer sleeve off, the PT80S is visible sitting in a plastic tray. A lot of samples have a tray that lifts out but this one is glued in place. On the right side is a tab sticking out that allows you to lift the flap up to find the two coils, user manual, warranty card, and USB-C charging cable. The two coils included in the kit are the GTX .3 ohm mesh coil rated at 32-45 watts and the GTX .15 ohm mesh coil rated at 60-75 watts. Of course with the .15 ohm coil the battery will not last for a long period of time while pushing the mod near to the limit of its output.

The left side has the Vaporesso name stamped into the side of the body while the right side has no branding. As I mentioned earlier the mod has what I would call a silky feeling to it rather than a cheap plastic feeling. It still amazes me after using it over a week as to how lightweight it is. The back of the mod gives the appearance of a carbon fiber or some sort of texturing like we are used to seeing on mods with padded backs but this is not. It feels like it’s a molded part of the body with texturing. I really like the hand feel of it.

The pod opening on the top of the mod has the standard two gold plated spring loaded contacts we are used to seeing and the surrounding metal plate is secured by two torx head screws. One thing that is different is there are two pins sticking up from that plate on the right side of the picture below. I think this is a really cool feature. Those two pins fit inside the opening in the bottom of the pod to lock the pod into place and keep it from spinning in the opening on the mod. When you install the pod, you can just rotate the pod until you hit the right spot for it to drop into place and the pins keep it from rotating.

The PT80s uses a single 18650 battery that is loaded in the side by removing the C frame cover. The battery polarity is clearly marked and there are two magnets on the body and two on the cover that hold the cover securely with no rattle. The battery is loaded with the positive post on the bottom which is spring loaded to hold tension on the battery.

The front of the PT80S has a large round fire button on top followed by a .91” OLED display, plus and minus adjustment buttons, and the USB-C charging port. The display on this one is pretty simplistic and a little old school compared to some of the mods out these days. The display shows the following information.

• Battery indicator
• Coil resistance
• Puff counter
• Set wattage

Menu/ button operation of the PT80S is similar to what I’ve seen on other Vaporesso mods. The operation is as follows.

• Press the fire button five times to turn the device on/off
• Press the fire button three times to lock/unlock
• Press the fire button and the – button to clear the puff counter
• Press the fire button and the + button to flip the screen
• Press the + and – buttons to enter the menu where you can select from VW, VV, Smart VW, Default, or Exit

The X Tank Pod that is included in the kit has a 4.5ml liquid capacity which is a decent size for a setup like this but can be gone through fairly quickly running the .15 ohm coil using the rated wattage range. I have to say that the X Tank Pod has a somewhat striking similarity with how the airflow control/ fill port ring is designed. When I first saw it, I immediately recognized the design. To fill the tank, you turn the airflow control ring all the way closed to expose the rubber plug on the side that is lifted to fill the tank. Once filled, replace the plug and turn the ring to adjust the airflow. Whether using the .3 or the .15 ohm coil, I preferred the airflow control completely open. The coils compatible with the X Pod Tank are the GTX series coils that have been around a long time now. To install a coil you simply push the coils in and align the flat of the coil with the cut outs in the base of the tank. The drip tip for this tank is not replaceable but is comfortable to use in my opinion.

FINAL THOUGHTS:

I have to say that the PT80S surprised me from the moment I opened it. I very much like the blue color of the sample I received but what really got me was how lightweight the mod is even after installing the battery and filling the tank. The battery is loaded via the C frame style battery compartment which I am a fan of that style.

The GTX coils are tried and true in my book. They produce very good flavor and as usual with these coils, I experienced no leaking thanks to the SSS 2.0 leak resistant technology that Vaporesso has perfected. Another nice thing about the GTX coils is that there are so many different resistances available that they can meet almost any user’s needs. One thing to remember with these coils is that the size of the opening in these coils decreases as the resistance goes up which directly affects the amount of airflow available despite using the same tank or pod.

Out of the two coils included in the kit, I preferred the .3 ohm coil at about 35 watts with the airflow control wide open. I got very good flavor and vapor production with this coil. Normally I usually prefer the .2 coil out of the available GTX coils and run it 40-45 watts.

The .15 ohm coil also included in the kit produced good flavor and plentiful vapor. I started out running the coil at about 48 watts and worked my way up to 60 watts which is the bottom end of the wattage range for this coil. For me, 60 watts was too warm and if I chain vaped then the non-replaceable drip tip got a little uncomfortably hot. I found my happy spot with the wattage set at 55 watts and the airflow once again wide open. I couldn’t quite put my finger on it but it kind of seemed like there was something off with the airflow. Maybe a little turbulent or something. Like I said, I couldn’t really decide what it was but seemed a little off. I know that companies tend to copy or use similar designs and have seen it many times but the X Tank Pod seemed very similar to a pod tank that I have reviewed from a different company. Although it was fairly comfortable to use, I do kind of wish that the drip tip was replaceable.

And here we are at the end again. So, would I recommend the Vaporesso PT80S for you? If you’re looking for a very lightweight pod mod that has a wide variety of good quality coils available then yes I would. I enjoyed testing it and have a good stockpile of GTX coils could easily see this joining my rotation of devices.
