Hi, today let's take a look at one of Innokin's latest offerings on the subject of Box Mod Kit, it is
Kroma 217 with Z-Force Tank.
In this Test I will examine each of the characteristics that distinguish the Kit. I hope that at the end of this reading you may have understood this product, and therefore decide whether to invest in it or not. As always, my reviews are free and based on my personal experience.

To start I would say that a deserving applause goes to Innokin, he deserves it all, because he is sensitive to the environment and uses 100% recyclable materials for its packaging.
At the front, the box presents the image of the Kit together with the list of main features and a black adhesive plate reminds us of the use of the "Duo Prime" technology in the ZF coils.
On the back are listed; the warnings, packing list, scratch & check, Qr-Code and address of
Shenzhen Innokin Technology Co., Ltd.
On the sides of the box are shown; a partial image of the Kit, an adhesive label showing the warnings for the country of destination. On the opposite side are visible and autographed the signatures of
P. Busardo and D. Agrafiotis who collaborated with Innokin in the development of this kit.

► Innokin Kroma 217 Kit; First Impressions:
Innokin's Kroma family is expanding and the new Mod retains the attractive looks and the same sturdy construction materials as the previous Kroma R-18650 (which is also one of my favorite single battery Mods). Kroma 217 can take advantage of a 21700/20700 or 18650 battery (with adapter included). The tank chosen by Innokin for this Kit is the Z Force of 24mm and 5ml of capacity which is suitable for lung use with the Z Force (ZF) resistors.
Kroma 217 will not be the lightest Mod with 21700 battery on the market, but it is certainly one of the most beautiful and ergonomic, just as if it belonged to a high-end line! Innokin (whom I thank) sent me the River Wood and Stealth Black versions for this test, which differ mainly in the type of padded decorative insert (but not too soft) that is present in the handle and which extends widely on the side panels. The frame of both is painted black and is embellished by the gunmetal color of the upper base and the lower base. The frame shows rounded and ergonomic grooves and towards the front we find the inscription Kroma 217 engraved on one side, on the other side we find engraved "innokin".
What can I say ... In addition to the inviting appearance, this Mod really offers a comfortable ergonomic transport, vote 10 and praise, it is difficult to part!
► Innokin Kroma 217 Kit; Screen and control keys:
The front of the Kroma 217 is almost entirely covered with a large "smoked-color" screen that functions like a giant Fire button, comfortable and precise to operate. The screen houses a bright colored display, with clear and easily legible fonts. Further down are the "+ / -" adjustment buttons and the USB-C charging port. Everything is well placed and accessible.
► Innokin Kroma 217 Kit; 510 thread and bottom base:
The top and bottom of the Mod are gunmetal, painted and brushed, these parts contrast "brilliantly" with the matte black frame. The steel cup has a spring loaded gold / plated pin and when a tank is installed its thread is sliding well. On Kroma 217 the tanks with a diameter of 25mm fit perfectly and without overflowing on the outside.
In the lower part, the opening direction of the cover to access the battery compartment is clearly indicated with an arrow. Externally on the flap, there are 4 slots for the safety vent, the logo for disposal and the C E mark. The footprint of Kroma 217 is shaped to keep the mod stable in an upright position ... Difficult to overturn.
► Innokin Kroma 217 Kit; Battery compartment:
Inside the battery compartment, the positive pole is marked on the bottom.Once the chosen cell (18650/20700/21700) has been inserted, closing is done simply by sliding the flap in the opposite direction to that of opening (indicated by the arrow ) until you hear a reassuring clack! The closing / opening mechanism appears robust and precise.
► Innokin Z-Force Tank; Refil:
Z-Force is a tank that uses a refill system with a locking / unlocking button of the sliding top cap. The cap is marked with an arrow, just press the button and slide the cap outwards. Innokin uses a silicone membrane that acts as a one-way valve. Then when the tip of the bottle is extracted, the membrane closes and seals the Tank from e-liquid leaks.
► Innokin Z-Force Tank; AFC:
The air flow of the Z-Force tank is regulated by a rotating ring equipped with rotation stops and 4 slots for the passage of air that do not have the traditional shape that we all know. Rotating the ring starts to open the bottom two slots for RDL vaping first, then you can keep spinning the ring and increase the airflow for great DL vaping with all 4 slots open.
Z-Force Tank is fully demountable for thorough cleaning.
On Z force Tank to insert a new coil, unscrew the AFC base and insert the resistance from below with a slight pressure. The Z coils have an insertion direction marked by two flat sides that mirror those on the tank. When the AFC base is screwed back on the coil is blocked.
► Innokin Z-Force Tank; E-liquid Control:
Z-Force Tank allows you to replace the coils with the Tank full of liquid. The system uses a gate that lowers when the coil is extracted from the tank, therefore without any loss of e-liquid. When the new coil is installed, the gate opens allowing the liquid to flow towards the cotton of the coil.
► Innokin Z-Coils "Duo Prime" and Vaping Test:
The ZF coils for the Z-Force tank use a new "Duo Prime" technology which provides in addition to the internal mesh also an additional external mesh to the cotton. In this way the cotton is completely "wrapped", thus increasing the contact surface with the heating elements. This solution guarantees a potentially increased production of flavor and vapor. However, the cotton must keep up with the double net and feed with liquid fluently, otherwise it runs the risk of burning it prematurely.
The 0.2Ω ZF coil is the most suitable resistance for my vape style, it seems to absorb the liquid well and keep up with a compulsive vape without problems. The higher DL performance requires some power and at 65W I find it perfect paired with the wide open AFC.
The 0.3Ω resistor greatly improves battery life as it requires less power. Its range of use is 30-45W, but to obtain the best DL performance it would be necessary to use it at 45w, but at this power the problems described above could arise, resulting in a shorter duration of the resistance. In fact, the 0.3Ω Coil if used at high power seems more difficult to keep up with the double net which requires a high absorption of liquid by the cotton. In this case the best choice is to use the resistor for what has been developed, therefore with an adequate wattage for RDL and in "Coil +" mode. In the end I found the right compromise using the 0.3Ω coil at 30 / 35W with AFC almost completely closed and with a refresh each time the Tank is filled, all this to get the RDL vape that I like.
During the test I was able to verify that the vaporizer is well designed, the AFC system and the liquid control system both work well. In suction, the noise is never annoying and I have not had any problems with e-liquid leaks. The consumption of E-liquid is perfectly in line with the high performance of the 0.2Ω ZF coil.
► Innokin Kroma 217 Kit; Operation Guide:
The Innokin Chipset has been simplified; it maintains all the safety protection necessary for the user and with its integrated functions it manages the ZF coils well. It adequately supports any cells (18650/20700/21700) that you will use, the display is very bright, well readable and provides precise indications.
• Press the Fire button 3 times to turn the device on / off
• Press the Fire key and the "+" key at the same time to reset the Puff counter
• Press the Fire key and the "-" key simultaneously to lock / unlock the wattage setting
• Press the "+" key or the "-" key to adjust the power from 6 to 80W (18650) or from 6 to 100W (20700/21700) with steps of 0.5W at a time
• Press the "+" and "-" keys simultaneously to access the menu.
• Coil + Mode:
This is the first function that we find in the menu, by activating Coil + in VW or VV mode we choose to take advantage of a further regulation (HZ) that Innokin offers us. This new Coil + technology was developed by Innokin to use pulses of alternating current (AC) and to produce a different waveform, essentially this function maintains the vaporization temperature of the liquid on optimized values and extends the life of the coil thanks to better liquid saturation of the cotton.
• Refresh Mode:
You can perform this function automatically or manually at any time. Selecting "run 1 x auto" and clicking on the Fire button, the coil refresh will last 4 seconds. If, on the other hand, you believe that the coil needs a longer refresh, select "extended old" and hold down the fire button, the refresh will last 8 seconds. In both cases the aim is to produce a vibration capable of removing dirt on the old coils. The low intensity "activations" (40% less power) allow the liquid to penetrate deeper into the cotton saturating it more. All this to make the absorbent material "ready" when it press fire button for again require an adequate power to the coil in use.
• Power function includes the possibility of using the device in VW or VV mode from 1 to 7.5V and with 3 different delivery steps (SOFT, NORMAL, HIGHT).
• By entering
Setting it is possible to intervene on various parameters; adjust the Time-out of the display from 5 to 180s, adjust the Cut-off for the single puff from 3 to 18s, check the ID and the firmware version installed or restore the device to factory data.
