NEW 2025 TPA/TFA Flavors Reviewed by SessionDrummer

KtfiKbv.jpeg

Alright, another FIRST here people. Despite having used TPA flavors since the beginning, I am finally reviewing and single flavor testing some of them. With the exception of maybe their Vanilla Custard II, and just a few others, I could not remember the last time TPA released new flavors, so let's get INTO them !!!!!

> As always (or most times), all flavors tested at the listed weights, and in a 70v/30p/3mg carrier base. All steeped at least 1.5 weeks, and tested on the beloved SteamCrave RDTA v.1, running dual 24ga. Kanthal vertical coils, and with Koh Gen Do cotton. Fresh, or dry burned coils and fresh cotton before every test. Tested at 65 watts.

**Berry Chewy Squares (TPA) 4.5% (10-24-25)** -- The moment I started to test this one, I immediately (and throughout the entire test) got a very distinct two profiles. A pink starburst, mashed up with a gummy bear. At first it seemed as if the starburst was the dominant profile with an "off-note", but, I deciphered it as a gummy bear. Now when I say a pink starburst, that was just an approximation, and it wasn't exactly that, but in the ball park. At first I wasn't sure if the two profiles worked together, but as the test proceeded, I felt they did. It was very hard to nail down an exact berry with this one, but it seemed based off of a strawberry, tempered with maybe some pineapple, and some light coconut.

It had a somewhat "creamy" aspect to it, but it wasn't full on creamy. At 4.5% it was very full, with maybe an 8.75/10 on the strength scale. Sweetness was a few ficks above mid-level, which was fine for a candy flavor. No off-notes once I decided the other profile was "gummy"-ish. I could see a lot of uses for this in (duh) candy mixes, and because the exact "berry/berries" were fairly non-descript, it would be VERY easy to push/pull in any direction you wanted. IMHO this one was a mashup of a pink starburst with a gummy bear with a light/er creamy-ish undertone. Leaving this one very high at a **9.3/10**.

**Berry Jam (TPA) 4.5% (10-24-25)** -- Jammy McJam Jam !!!!! Oh yes, I LOVE a good Jam flavor, and this is now ONE of them. This one immediately reminded me of [Flavor Labs Strawberry Jam](https://forum...................../t/flavor-labs-single-flavor-tests-testing-now/249286/19?u=sessiondrummer). Now not because they were identical, but both had VERY good, and similar Jammy qualities. After polishing off TWO testers of this one, I realized I hadn't written a word !!!! Yeah, it's that good. The "berry" seemed based in a deliciously ripe and juicy strawberry, BUT, it had something, darker tempered into the mix. I'm going to say a Raspberry, but it was VERY hard to tell, as TPA very craftly layered it in below the Strawberry in such a way that it bent the strawberry slightly darker which was a VERY interesting approach, and effect. VERY well done. The jammy-ness was almost the FIRST thing that hit me, and it was good. Almost like a true pectin laden actual jam. Very realistic, tasty, and, well, Jammy !!!!

At 4.5% it was very full and I'd have to rate it up at a 9/10 on the strength scale, and it might be able to be pushed up to 5.0%, but most will probably never need to. Sweetness was a few ticks above mid-level, which was perfect for a jammy flavor, and never cloyingly sweet. ZERO off-notes, complaints or issues. As I was finishing the third tester I was determined to at least come up with one "want", but I gave up. TPA did a great job with this one, and did so by taking a juicy, ripe, red strawberry jam, and temper it with something darker. Pretty tasty and unique. With all of THAT said, it's time to release the Kraken on this one, and hot drop it at a **10/10**. Get your jam on !!!

**Bubblegum (Pink) (TPA) 4.5% (10-24-25)** -- FIRST ONE on deck from the NEW TPA 2025 flavors release. I started this one out at 2.5% but it was clearly underpowered, so I upped it to 3.5%, then 4.5%, and it seemed to open up a bit, and I think this will be the finalized testing weight for these. Once I stabilized the mixing weight, this one proved to be very bubblegummy and indeed, with a great "pink" overtone. At 4.5% it was fairly strong, and at about a 6.5/10 on the strength scale. It was pretty accurate for a typical Hubba Bubba, or Bubble Yum type bubblegum. It never wandered into a Juicy Fruit or non-descript bubble gum but stayed perfectly "pink" throughout my tests.

At times I could almost pick out the dusting coating that you sometimes get on a fresh piece out of the wrapper. Pleasantly there were no off-notes, and nothing to distract from the bubble gum experience. As is/was/is sometimes the case, about my only complaint would be a bit more saturation, but even as it stood at 4.5% it was good, and more importantly, convincing. Sweetness was about 2-3 ticks above mid-level and that suited a bbgum flavor. With no complaints, or off-notes, and my only "want" being a tad more saturation, leaving this little pinky high at a **8.9/10**.

**Fuji Apple Flavor (TPA) 4.5% (10-24-25)** -- Crisp, tart, and juicy were my main take-aways on this one. A very convincing Fuji which tasted smack dab in between a red and green apple, almost like a rose apple LOL. It had some of the light almost honey-like undertones common in some Fujis. It did taste fairly tart, and it smelled even tart-er in the bottle. Sweetness was just at mid-level, and it was very strong at 4.5%. Not ceiling smashing, but possible 4.0% could be a better SFT, but was still good at this weight.

At times I got a slight, almost artificial sweetener like push on the finish, but it was very minor, and seemed to come and go. Beyond that, no real issues or complaints. A fresh, juicy, tarty Fuji, that was realistic with ever so slight honey like undertones. It felt good at a **9/10**.

**Gummy Fruity Gushy (TPA) 4.5% (10-24-25)** -- Well I wasn't sure what to make of this one at the start, and at the end, I was still there. It had a fairly decent gummy profile, but the fruity, gushy I wasn't so sure of. It did taste like a somewhat bland, neutral candy-ish flavor, mixed with some gummy-ness. The fruit/fruits never really took shape, and it was kind of a sweetened, gummy blur, as opposed to a more focused flavor. At 4.5% it was somewhat strong, and maybe a 6/10 on the strength scale, but still tasted somewhat muted.

Sweetness was just about mid-level, and I did not get any off-notes, but I did have some "wants". A somewhat more focused flavor, or better defined flavor would have improved it. It wasn't terrible, but I can't see it as a main driver in a mix, but maybe a candy baser/mixer at best. Leaving it somewhat lower at a **6/10**.

**Lemon Candy (TPA) 4.5% (10-24-25)** -- I went into this one FULLY expecting a LemonHead. Exciting times here people, as this was NOT a LemonHead at all !!!! Dramatics not withstanding, this one was actually really good. Trying to give an exact candy match was difficult, but it was closest to a Sweet Lemon Drop. Now you may not 100% know what that is, but it is a sweetened lemon candy, with SOME tartness, and a hint of sour, but focused more on a sweetened natual lemon candy. Whew, that was hard to explain.

At 4.5% it was good but not what I would call strong, and maybe a 6.75/10 on the strength scale. Tasting it was very interesting, as it was a fairly complex Lemon profile with some natural, more artificial, and some zest/citrus oil on the finish. Actually it was one of the more complex Lemons I've tested. As a whole it was def. centered more on a sweetened lemon rather than a sour/tart focused lemon. Clean, fresh, and finished with a nice Zest. No off-notes or complaints, but my big "want" would have been a more saturated flavor. It might be able to be pushed a little higher, but unsure. Because of the very nice complex lemon profile, I decided to leave it high even though, it wasn't the strongest flavor. Finalized it at a **9.2/10**.

**Lemon Slice (TPA) 4.5% (10-25-25)** -- Having JUST tested TPA's Lemon Candy, this one was rather confusing, as it shared some of the same profiles/nuances to the aforementioned. What is was missing from the Lemon Candy, was, well, the "candy". Beyond that, it was an interesting lemon profile, riding on a sweet carrier. Now the MOST interesting thing about this one, was that it never presented as a lemonade. Logic dictates it would have, Lemon, Sweetener, is Lemonade, right ?? No. The lemon while good, was nowhere near as complex to the Lemon Candy, and not as strong in the overall mix. This one was more 50% Lemon, 50% sweetener for comparison. At 4.5%, it was not one of the stronger flavors, and I would rate it at a 6/10 on the strength scale.

Sweetness was a few ticks above mid level, but it never seemed cloyingly sweet, which again, was interesting. I struggled to think where you would use this flavor, and with it's lighter stature, how it would play in mixes. It would be GREAT as a sweetener, with a touch of lemon for sure. For a solo test, it was actually interesting to test, and strangly satisfying, and I'm not sure why LOL. When I think of a Lemon Wedge, I think of an actual wedge (slicded), of Lemon, which this was not. This made scoring this strange little interesting one difficult. As an interestingly different "lemon" flavor I'd rate it high, but I will score it at it's name, and push it down to a **5.5/10**. Even with that said, this one would make a unique addition to your collection, and again, was a strangely surprisingly good solo flavor.

**Mango (Sweet) (TPA) 4.5% (10-25-25)** -- Bright, punchy, orange, AND yellow were my big take-aways on this one. This one started out with a bang, but had some baggage. The initial onrush was that of a juicy ripe mango, but midway through however it almost tasted like and under ripe mango mashed in. There was a very persistent off-note on the finish, and it was hard to quantify, but the flavor finished somewhat dry. This was odd because it started off very well. It was almost if it was a ripe and unripe mango in the same flavor. It tasted mostly artificial but with natural accents.

At 4.5% it was as strong as you would want, and sweetness was just at mid level. Beyond the mish-mosh of ripe and unripe, the only off-note was on the finish, and it MIGHT be able to be covered up in a mix. The best I can come up with would be a somewhat astringent dryness. Not terrible, not great, and probably better as a baser/mixer. Because the scope of these reviews are single flavored, I didn't want to slow the roll by attempting to conceal the finishing off-note, so rating it as tested at a **6.9/10**.

**Orange (Tangy) (TPA) 4.5% (10-25-25)** -- With this one, I had been expecting a natural orange, maybe with some "Tang" or tangy notes. Instead, this one proved to be more an orange creamsicle flavor. The orange was fairly artificial with some natural notes, with maybe a light tangerine lower in the mix. That was the main profile, but beneath it was an almost creamy carrier that it rode on top of. It never fully took on an orange creamsicle but that was my close approximation.

At 4.5% it was about a 7.5/10 on the strength scale, and sweetness was about 1 tick above mid level, and that seemed to suit the flavor. Because of the creamy carrier/undertones, the orange didn't have much bite, but there was a little crisp tartness on the finish. All in, this one was much more of a start to a pretty good orange creamsicle, or simply a orange cream. I would place the orange to cream percentages to about 55% orange, 45% creameries. No real off notes, but a big want would be more citrusy punch or bite from the orange. As it stood, not terrible, but it's "orange" uses will be limited. Leaving it modestly at a **6.5/10**.

**Peach Gummy Candy (TPA) 4.5% (10-26-25)** -- Gummy, gummy, kinda gummy was the name of the game for this one. The gummy profile seemed to stay as an undertone from beginning to the middle, and was most dominant on the finish. The peach profile was mostly yellow, candied, and somewhat subdued. At times I thought I was getting a light pear, and maybe a hint of green apple. The peach was the dominant fruit, and it worked. Even at 4.5% it wasn't overpowering and at about a 7/10 on the strength scale.

Sweetness was just below mid-level, and no off or squirrel-y notes. About my only want would have been more peach. As it stood, it was a pretty good Peach Gummy. It never jumped over into a Peach Rings, but stayed squarely in a Peach Gummy. With no off-notes, and the only want for more Peach, I decided to leave this one higher at an **8/10**.

**Pineapple (Fresh) (TPA) 4.5% (10-26-25)** -- Typically most pineapples I've tested fall into 4 categories: Fresh/Natural, Candied/Sugared, Baked/Browned, Juice. This one seemed to straddle 2, almost 3. It had a very good fresh, yellow pineapple taste, with a hint of juice, and some baked/browned notes. It was interesting, because it was fairly complex. The juicy natural notes were impressive and realistic, with some brighter juice notes in there. From the middle and through the finish, it had some nice (unexpected) slightly darker, maybe baked notes. While not truly baked, that was just an approximation, but it was almost like fresh pineapple with some golden syrup notes.

At 4.5% it was nicely strong, with some punchy, bright notes, and I'd rate it about an 8.5/10 on the strength scale. Sweetness levels were a little tricky to quantify, because the initial onrush and middle tasted fairly sweet, but the finish did not. Very interesting. It was almost like it COULD benefit from a dash more sweetness, and I finally decided on a just below mid-level sweet. No off notes, slight if any "funky-ness", and no real complaints. Typically I prefer a much punchier/brighter Pineapple, and my current to go is VTA's Sugarloaf, for comparison. I think my only "want" would have been for a little more sweetener, and some more of the brighter, punchier top end notes. Even sans that, it was a very good pineapple, which was mostly natural with some slight sugared, artificial notes, and was complex-if-ied with some bright, mid, and dark notes. Leaving this one fairly high at a **9/10**.

**Raspberry (Ripe) (TPA) 4.5% (10-25-26)** -- Before testing this one, I was wondering if it would be a slightly different version of their Sweet Raspberry, but it was NOT. For reference, I use both TPA Sweet Raspberry, and Inawera Malina regularly, and love both of them. Some people seem to be put off by some of the sharpness, and maybe some "florals" of the Malina, so that shows that not ANY Raspberry is the RIGHT Raspberry for everyone. The moment I started testing this one, I did a double take, checked the label saying, "Wait, is this a Raspberry Jam" ?? It's jammy-ness hit me right out of the gate, and stayed fairly present to the end. It had some aspects of INW Malina, and some of their Sweet Raspberry, but it was even more. Ripe might be a good description, but maybe sweetened, and jammed might have been better.

At 4.5% it was strong but not overbearing, and about a 9/10 on the strength scale. It had more sweetness than tartness, but just enough of the latter to keep it interesting. I am not floral sensitive, but I can still taste them, and I got none here. No off-notes or complaints that I could detect, and sweetness was 1 tick above mid-level. The Raspberries themselves (yes, more than one), seemed more centered on the mid, and dark varieties, BUT, with some punchy tart sparkle on the finish. All in, it was a keeper, and somewhat like a mashup of INW Malina, and TPA Sweet Raspberry, WITH, a healthy dose of jammy-ness. Because it straddled so many different types and nuances, I could see this one being popular. Handily a **9.7/10**.

**Strawberry (Fresh) (TPA) 4.5% (10-26-25)** -- Luckily, I'm not Strawberry blind, and have never had one I can't taste. This flavor presented as a fat, red Strawberry. No jammy elements this time, and it was far more sweet and smooth, as opposed to tart. It was somewhat juicy, and mostly on the finish, as the initial onrush seemed to be mostly a smooth red one. At 4.5% it was about 8/10 on the strength scale, and sweetness was about mid-level.

With TPA's already well known and widely used Strawberry, and Strawberry Ripe, I'm sure it was no easy feat to squeeze this one into the lineup. No off-notes, or take-offs that I could detect. With so many SB's out there, it can be hard to differentiate one from the pack. Because it didn't have much tart, it could easily be "helped" out with another SB if needed. It's staying power and pairings with creams, etc., is outside the scope of this review. All in, it was a fat, red, very smooth strawberry. Nicely placing it at a **8.5/10**.

**Strawberry (Splash) (TPA) 4.5% (10-28-25)** -- This one goes out to my brother @Torturedzen. Alright guys, this one was a SMASH (not splash) hit, right out of the gate. From the MFG ............."Juicy and vibrant, this flavor leans into sweet strawberry notes with the refreshing notes of a summertime drink." To my tastes, this one had a LOT more saturation, presence, and "snap" than the previously tested Strawberry (Fresh). I had a distinct opinion on the 3 main profiles on this one from the start, and that didn't change at the end. I got clear juicy red, and white strawberries, mixed on top of (maybe) a light lemonade flavor. NOW, before you guys start thinking this was a simple SB Lemonade, it wasn't. It tasted like TPA gently layered in the Lemonade far below the Strawberries (red, and white) just to ACCENT them, not to PARTNER with them. "..... of a summertime drink.". 3 testers later, my assessment didn't change.

At 4.5% it was spot on strong and not lacking at all, and I'd rate at a 9.5/10 on the strength scale. Sweetness was just above mid-level, and it was very enjoyable. With the pairing of both red and white strawberries, it really filled up the "spectrum" leaving even just the SB profile as complex, and adding in the very light but present lemonade just kicked the whole flavor up another two notches. The sweetness was kept in check by a some nicely placed tart notes. All in, this one was a winner in my book. Red and white strawberries, perfectly paired with a light/er lemonade carrier. BBA (Big Bottle Approved). Releasing the Kraken on this one folks. **10/10**, no hesitation. More than just a simple sweet strawberry.

**Sweetener (Stevia) (TPA) 2.5% (11-1-25)** -- Only for YOU guys do I test straight sweetener. I specifically tested this one at 2.5% and wanted to see EXACTLY how it tasted at somewhat higher than normal usage rates. As many of you probably know Stevia's CAN indeed have a bitter, and/or "twangy" finish, so THAT is what I was looking for. TPA hasn't updated their Compound List for this Sweetener (Stevia) yet, but I'll keep an eye on it and let you all know. Stevia can be a great alternative to Sucralose, and EM, with a cleaner, less "gunkier" experience. Most times however it comes down to the Reb (A, D, or M) that they use.

With all that out of the way, at 2.5% this one tasted VERY clean, with NO bitterness, and NO aftertaste at the finish. That is/was actually impressive. I cannot tell if it is pure Stevia, or a mix, but it was clean tasting, lingered slightly after the finish, and tasted very good. There was a VERY slight earthy-ness on the finish, but remember, I'm rolling this solo'd at 2.5%, so I'm going to call it clean as a whistle. At 2.5% it surprisingly didn't "bloom" or wasn't cloyingly sweet, but again, this is at 2.5%, solo'd without any other interaction, but I'll be picking up a bigger bottle and testing it with custards, bakeries, and of course fruits. Clean, no bitterness, no aftertaste and only a whisper of earthy undertones on the finish. Leaving this, the LAST tester in this series very high, at a **9.8/10**.

**Tangerine (TPA) 4.5% (11-1-25)** -- After a little delay, finally got into this one. As a disclaimer, I am not a huge fruit guy, but I LOVED this flavor. Super spot on accurate Tangerine with every nuance you could ask for from the fruit body, AND, a very accurate citrus oil/zest on the finish. That's it in a nutshell, and if you need to tangerine, this one will get it done. The fruit body notes tasted very natural, and while not overly sharp or punchy, had an almost slight blood orange undertone, which helped "fatten" up this one into more of a full spectrum tangerine. At times I got a very light, almost grapefruit nuance to it, and although that might sound strange, absolutely worked.

At 4.5% it was great, and felt like an 8.75/10 on the strength scale. Sweetness was a tick or two below mid level, and I literally GAVE UP trying to find a single nit-pick, off-note, or even a "want" with this one. I'm already working on a "Tangerine-A-Cream", and it's tasting great. If you want a very natural Tangerine, this one should be already in your cart. Fairly complex, full bodied, and with slight Blood Orange, and very light Grapefruit notes, and a stellar citrus oil/zest finish. Smooth, and accurate, with just enough citrus tart to keep you coming back. From the "not fruit" guy, this one was a winner. Releasing the Kraken again, and **10/10**'ing this one, all day long.

**Watermelon Juice (TPA) 4.5% (11-1-25)** -- With this being the LAST flavor in this 16 flavor series, (Sweetener will be next), I was torn between two profiles on this one. The first was a kind of, pretty close WM Juice, and the second was more of a Candied WM sweetened by a Golden Syrup. While it wandered between both during my tests, the latter seemed to be more prevalent. I emphasize Candied WM over a WM Candy, as the Watermelon was in the front, not the candy profile. I felt the sweetener came across as a bit darker than a simple white sugar sweetener, which is why I defined it as more of a [Golden Syrup](https://www.thespruceeats.com/what-is-golden-syrup-5191046), which opened up some darker notes. At 4.5% it was pretty strong, and far more saturated than the previously tested WM Sour Candy, and I'd give this one a 9/10 on the strength scale.

No overt off-notes to be found in this one. The watermelon notes leaned heavily artificial with slight natural notes, and as stated above, had an interesting dark/er undertone. All in, not a bad flavor, BUT, not entirely sold on the "juice" aspect. Candied watermelon, mostly artificial with hints of natural, with a somewhat darker sugared undertone, with it being more of a candied watermelon as opposed to a juice. Leaving it at a **8.5/10**.

**Watermelon Sour Candy (Stevia) (TPA) 4.5% (10-26-25)** -- Not wanting to do two Strawberries back to back, I broke them up with this one. Having used a lot of Stevia, but only for fruits, I was interested to see how that fared here, in a sour candy flavor. Overall, fairly well. It was, well, a watermelon sour candy LOL. It wasn't the strongest flavor, and at 4.5% it tasted lower on the strength scale, around a 5.5/10. Unsure if increasing it would help or not. The watermelon was as expected candied, and artificial, and somewhat sour. Sweetness on the initial onrush felt higher, but on the finish, it seemed to drop off, and at the finish it actually tasted a few clicks below mid-level sweet. It did feel/taste a bit muted, and possibly due to the sour.

I did get an off-note on the finish while it was breaking in, but after it did that dissipated. It also had a slight harshness to it, but only slightly. My biggest want would have been, more watermelon !!! Not terrible, but not outstanding. Good all around flavor for sour candy mixes. Leaving it somewhat lower, at a **7/10**.

New Member Introduction & Smok Question

Hi everyone! I found ya'll while trying to figure out if I could still get coils for my old vape anymore, and figured I'd join up! I'm a 40-something secretary. I've done light vape and traditional hookah before (all non nicotine), but haven't used either in a while. I recently found my old Smok H-PRIV 50W TC, cleaned it up since, charged it, and checked to see if it still worked. It seems to work, but I'm getting a "check atomizer" message, I'm assuming because it desperately needs a new coil. Which is understandable, I was just hoping to test if it worked before incursion in ancient could. Since I can't do that, though, I would like to purchase new coils to test and see if it's still viable. Would anyone know what coils I need or where to find some, pretty please? Pictures included of what I have.

► Hellvape Dead Rabbit 4 RTA; Introduction:
Hellvape continues to relentlessly improve its Dead Rabbit series. The new Dead Rabbit 4 RTA uses thicker and more robust construction materials. The build deck features 48 holes to maximize cloud production. Furthermore, the coil build space has been increased to 13mm, making it even easier to build. The Dead Rabbit 4 RTA maintains a top-to-bottom airflow path to ensure a 100% leak-proof system. The refill system is as simple as it gets, featuring a securely locked slide that prevents accidental opening. My two samples for this review came with an additional bubble tank and the classic straight tube. The straight tube appears to be polycarbonate rather than glass as stated in the specifications. It should be noted that the versions I own are "samples" and are subject to future modifications. The user manual also mentions a possible PRO version, which would also feature a metal armor to protect the tube glass. We'll see how it develops.
Enjoy the read.

Hellvape Dead Rabbit 4 Rta 8.jpg

Naturally, when choosing to use a high-powered dual-coil RTA like this, it's important to pair it with dual-battery mods that can push it to high power and provide the user with a good reserve of energy. In this case, a great pairing with the DR4 would be the Centaurus BT200 mod I recently reviewed. However, I won't push the power too far, so I find the Dead Rabbit 4 RTA pairs very well with simple and easy-to-use 21700 mods. In the image below, you can see the Dead Rabbit 4 RTA with a straight glass tube (3.5ml) installed on an Innokin Kroma 217.

► Hellvape Dead Rabbit 4 RTA; Exploded view:
The tank is completely removable for thorough cleaning. The threads and various joints are well-crafted, as usual, and handling this tank reveals a high-quality structural sturdiness, in keeping with Hellvape's finest traditions.

New member looking for some mech mods

Hey all, new member but long time lurker. Ive been vaping for about a decade now and couldnt afford all the mech mods i really wanted back in the day until now but unfortunately alot of the mods i want are no longer available online. That being said, i was really hoping someone here might have some rig mods for sale or know where I could find some. Bench Retest Results: EVE 50E (CCC logo) - 15A 5000mAh 21700

These tests below only note my personal opinion for the ESTIMATED ratings for the batteries I tested at the time I tested them. Any battery that is not a genuine Samsung, Sony, Murata, LG, Panasonic, Molicel, EVE, Ampace, Reliance, Sinowatt, Lishen, BAK, or Sanyo can change at any time! This can be one of the hazards of using “rewrapped” or batteries from other manufacturers so carefully research any battery you are considering using before purchasing.

Misusing or mishandling lithium-ion batteries can pose a SERIOUS RISK of property damage, personal injury, or even death. Never use them outside of a fully protected battery pack and you use them at your own risk. Never exceed the battery’s true continuous discharge rating (CDR), never let it get colder than 0°C or hotter than 60°C to help lower the risks and extend cell life, and keep the plastic wrap and top insulating ring in perfect condition. Never use a battery that is physically damaged in any way.

Testing batteries at their limits is dangerous and should never be attempted by anyone who has not thoroughly studied the dangers involved, understands the risks, has the proper equipment, and takes all appropriate safety precautions.

If the battery has only one current rating number, or if it only says "max", then I have to assume the battery is rated at that current level for any type of discharge, including continuous.

Test Results
This is a retest of the EVE 50E, which now has the CCC*** logo indicating certification to that new testing standard. This is a great performing energy cell I tested a year ago and I’m trying to retest more often than the 3yr cycles I’ve been on.

Some info…
  • It performed a touch better than the 50E’s I tested a year ago and that’s always great to see, even if we wouldn’t notice the difference in actual use.
  • The 50E equals the LG M50LT, Tenpower 50XG, and Molicel P50B at up to 10A.
  • It equals the Reliance RS50 and EVE50PL at 5A but those two cells are a little bit better at 10A.
  • The Samsung 50S2 is a slightly better performer than the 50E at 5A and 20A and the Vapcell F58/F60/F63 outperform the 50E by a few percent.
  • I don’t think you’d notice an actual performance difference between these cells at up to 10A but test them if even a tiny difference is important for your application.
  • The DC IR was typical for this type of cell and very consistent, 25.2mOhms and 25.5mOhms for the two cells I tested.
  • The datasheet only has a 15A “max” continuous current rating and no cell surface temperature limit listed. This forces me to use the 60°C operating temperature limit for the cell and my estimated 10A continuous current rating is based on that.
  • The datasheet charge ratings are 1A standard and 2.5A max. To help extend cell life I recommend staying near or below 1A.
  • The cells I tested delivered 5033mAh and 5035mAh, extraordinary consistency and just above the 5000mAh nominal capacity rating. This is good but I like to see cells deliver at least 100mAh more than the rating so we can be sure that none of the others in the batch will be below it.
***China Compulsory Certification, additional testing now required for all cells made or sold in China after August 1, 2024. The logo and certain information must be put on all cells once they are certified. This typically won’t be done by a manufacturer until the cell is ready to go into full production.

Review of both the VOOPOO Drag X3 and Drag S3

***DRAG X3***

Here today we have both the new Drag X3 in Champagne Golden and the Drag S3 in White, both graciously provided to me by VOOPOO for this review. I got them the beginning of October and have been running the X3 as my "out of the house" vape and it's pretty damn solid for the most part.

***Product Introduction***

With capacitive unlock sensor and a 1.65 inch smart touchscreen, VOOPOO Drag X3 brings both security and instant interaction to you. 3. Capacitive Unlock sensor
4. Compatible with PnP X Platform

***Review***

Like I said earlier, I got this the beginning of October with the S3 and while I ran the S3 for a week or so, wasn't really a fan. This X3 however, is a completely different beast. It's got the touchscreen which is kind of finicky to get working right if you're like me and have a klutz element to you. But once you do, it's flawless. It's flavor with the .15ohm coil is top notch surprisingly and the clouds are pretty solid too. The fact you can use an 18650 ***or*** 21700 is phenomenal too. I used both for this review and I found myself much preferring the 21700 as it just seems to work better with the larger battery. Another thing that is awesome, is the battery compartment. It has a button on the outside (non screen side) of the vape that unlocks the battery compartment . You push down and it slides the whole front of the vape down and you put the battery inside it and slide it back up until it clicks. Truly a neat concept considering how some vapes are just magnetic which can wear out over time. I honestly have very few gripes about this pod kit, which is shocking considering the fact I usually detest pod kits as they seem to be a dime a dozen. This kit however, is truly a different beast and I definitely see myself using it out in the field very frequently. My gripes are that the touch screen can be very finicky at times and doesn't always unlock/lock when you want/need it to. I found it unlocking while in my pocket occasionally, which ain't a bad thing but, when it unlocked, it would also wind up changing the wattage which was kind of pissing me off. That said still a solid vape.

***Verdict***

If you're looking for an innovative (***FINALLY***) pod kit, look no further cause VOOPOO has ya covered. I give this kit a solid 8.5/10. I say that because it is very finicky when it unlocks in your pocket. Still will daily this kit though.

***DRAG S3***

Here we have the new S3, released simultaneously alongside it's external battery brother. It's an okay kit performance wise, but not anything to write home about really aside from the fact it runs, in my testing, 32% longer than a similar sized internal battery pod kit. That and the aesthetics are very nice. It is more of an MTL kit as it's only 60W max and not 80W like its big brother, the X3.

***Product Introduction***

VOOPOO Drag S3 Description:
Drag S3 Kit is built with 3000mAh high-density battery, delivering 25% longer runtime in a compact body. Featuring capacitive unlocking and a 0.96 inch screen, it balances security and practicality. VOOPOO Drag S3 is compatible with PnP X platform and new integrated pods, which make it delivers refined taste from MTL to DTL vaping experience. Besides, 6 safety protections are designed to ensure your vaping safety.

***Specifications***

Drag S3 Parameters:

Brand: VOOPOO

Airflow: Top airflow

Resistance: 0.6 Ω / 0.8 Ω

Standard Coil: PnP X 0.6 Ω / PnP X 0.8 Ω

Material: Zinc Alloy / Leather

Display: 0.96 inch TFT screen

Output Wattage: 5-60W adjustable

Output Voltage: 3.2V-4.35V

Resistance Range: 0.1-3.0Ω

Battery Capacity: 3000mAh

Charging: Type-C 5V/2A

Button: Capacitive touch activation

Cartridge Included: PnP X Cartridge MTL

Filling Type: Side filling

Colors: White, Pink, Spray Black, Metal Gray, Blue, Green, Brown

***Features***

VOOPOO Drag S3 Pod Mod Kit Details:

1. 3000mAh large battery
2. Capacitive unlock sensor
3. Compatible with PnP X Coils
4. 0.96 inch TFT screen

***Review***

I got this S3 the same day as the X3, and ran it fir about a week, maybe less. It's solid built like the X3, but is a normal screen, which is a win for the S3 as it's more "old school". It also lasts, in my testing, 32% longer than a similar internal battery pod kit. Which is also a win as they (VOOPOO) claim an increase of 25%. It's flavor is actually pretty good, but it being geared toward MTL was a let down for me. Although not a killer, it still underperforms in other areas like charging and clouds. It does take slightly longer to charge compared to my Vinci E120. The clouds are of course, personal preference as it's more of an MTL kit and not DTL. All that aside, the aesthetics are much more intricate than that of the X3, which is shocking considering it's also smaller.

***Verdict***

Overall, if you're looking for a great middle ground device (RDL) then this is for y'all. It's probably more on the MTL end of RDL, but still worth checking out if you want to get going toward DTL, but aren't ready to dive head first into the deep end of the DTL pool. I give the S3 a 6.5/10. Mostly because of personal preference, but also because it takes a bit to charge and it just is a bit fumbly with getting to the menus.

► Aspire Zelos X80 Kit; How the Zelos X80 Mod is Made:
The new Zelos X80 Mod with an external 18650 battery joins the Zelos M80 Mod with an integrated battery. Both devices share the same chipset settings and are derived from the 2021 Zelos 3 Mod, which has seen various evolutions over the years. In the Kit version I personally tested, both mods are equipped with a vaporizer from the glorious Nautilus series: the Zelos M80 with the Nautilus 3SR and the Zelos X80 with the current Nautilus GT2. The Nautilus in its various versions is recognized as the most popular and respected atomizer with replaceable heads in the world. The Zelos 3 Mod in 2021 was equipped with the first Nautilus 3; today we find the Zelos X80 paired with the new Nautilus GT2. The Zelos X80 Mod, with its external 18650 battery, can be described as a compact mod, with a familiar design that, in my opinion, is timeless and irreplaceable. This is because it combines the soft lines of the comfortable grip with the attractive, yet rounded edges of the front panel. What's immediately noticeable is the great structural solidity, and the available color options are quite understated. Ultimately, the dimensions are more than acceptable, comparable to those of the Zelos M80 with its integrated 2,600mAh battery. The Zelos X80 Mod has a curb weight that's almost equivalent and slightly heavier than the Zelos M80. The Zelos X80's weight is evenly distributed, and the mod feels well-balanced in the hand and offers a pleasant feeling of robustness and ergonomics.

Aspire Zelos X80 Nautilus gt 2 8.jpg

The fusion of zinc alloy and satin-finish aluminum creates a classic yet elegant look, without being overly overbearing. The "Zelos X80" and "Aspire" lettering are small and unobtrusive. The recess between the square front and the round back creates a comfortable area for your fingertips, which can rest in the two lateral grooves. The lateral grooves house dynamic LEDs. The LED indicators with six selectable and switchable light effects enhance control and create the right atmosphere for any occasion. The front features the Fire button at the top, which is square and slightly protruding, comfortable and large enough to be reached by your fingers. The Up/Down adjustment buttons are located at the bottom above the USB-C charging port; both the Up/Down buttons and the USB port are well-positioned for easy use. Featuring a 0.96-inch TFT display, the Zelos X80 offers a bright and crisp screen with 8 adjustable brightness levels for an optimized viewing experience.
