Hey guys. Today let's look at the VOOPOO Drag S Pro Mod. Several days ago, VOOPOO just launched their Drag X Pro Kit and Drag S Pro Kit. Now the Drag S Pro Mod is also available separately. Here we go!

The Drag S Pro Mod comes with some great updates. The first is a manual switch which turns the mod on and off quickly – you can also use the traditional 5 button presses but for speed the switch is a great feature. Secondly, the other major upgrade is the use of the new GENE.FAN 3.0 chipset which can boost the output voltage up to 8.5V when required. The output is specified at 5-80W using a built-in 3000mAh battery.

There are 3 user modes – Smart mode (where the device sets the output according to the coil installed), RBA mode (gives you full variable wattage control), and TC mode. To activate the TC mode you will need to download a firmware update from VOOPOO vape official site. Activation is either manual from the fire button or you can also use auto-draw fire when used with the included tank. At last, the mod houses the airflow control system which gives a wide range of adjustments.

Today I have the newest MTL/RDL kit from Innokin for review, the Coolfire Z80/Zenith II kit. Both the coolfire and Zenith line are very well known under the vapers. especially MTL. I have never owned the original Zenith, but I did own the Zlide and Zenith Pro to which I can compare this new tank.

Review:

Let's start with the mod, the newest Coolfire. I really like the way this mod looks, simple and classy. Especially happy with the black version I received, it's gorgeous. It feels properly made and is quite light, can also confirm it is quite scratch resistant after having it in my pocket with keys, no scratches visible on the frame. The leather grip gives it a nice hold and the leather also feels nice, it is a thin fabric, but still nice a 'spongey'.

Branding on the mod is not very noticeable as it's carved in and kept in the same black color. On the right side of the frame 'INNOKIN' and on the left side 'COOLFIRE Z80' are carved in. On the bottom of the leather the Fourier logo is added referring to the Frequency technology that this mod has.









The top of the mod allows for 27mm tank without overhang, which is proper.

All buttons react well and sit in place properly. Just find ot a pity the fire-button is made from plastic, metal would have had a nicer feel. It's a small detail, but the golden line around the fire-button in my opinion looks very nice.



Best part for me of this mod is the fact that its an 18650 external battery mod. Battery-cap unscrews smoothly, and it is easy to get a proper grip because of the lip. Battery-cap is on the thin side, but it does not bother me.





Operating the mod is the standard Innokin way:

• 3 clicks to turn on/off the device.
• Hold up and down to get into the menu
• Hold fire and down to lock/unlock the device
• Hold fire and up to get into the information menu where you can also clear puff-counter
• Hold up or down to unlock wattage/voltage adjustment.

All very easy to operate and since there is not that many functions there is no need to really get into the user manual. Just like on the Innokin Sensis there is the Frequency and Refresh option. Both functions are quite revolutionary and really add another layer of vaping control. Difference is that on the Z80 the max Hz is 100, not 500 like on the Sensis. I like that the device shows the recommended HZ setting on the screen (1-50 for DTL and 50-100 for MTL). You need to experiment with it a bit, as it also depends a lot on the flavor profile of your juice. But once you get the hang of it, it really can improve the flavor and smoothness of your vape. However, I do find vaping on regular wattage/voltage better sometimes as the vape tends to be warmer.

Refresh is a nice function that really helps as I taste the difference after doing a refresh run. It simply runs for a couple of seconds on a lower wattage than the wattage set on the device. This supposedly clears clogged up residue from liquid and in this way 'refreshes' the coil.

Some additional functions in settings such as operational screen, it allows for changing the layout to pro or minimal. Pro is not really pro, it is kind of regular, minimal however is just as minimalistic as it gets. Also, you can set the screen time out between 5 and 180 seconds, and fire cut-off between 3 and 18 seconds. What is left in settings is displaying the device ID and resetting to factory settings.



Device can be put in Wattage and Voltage. Wattage scrolls in 0.5 increments and voltage in 0.1. It does round robin at the lowest 1V to the highest 7.5V vice versa. Wattage does the same from 6 to 80W. Not much has changed compared to their earlier single battery mod apart from the new Fourier frequency technology and refresh function. Still need to hold down up or down to be able to adjust wattage or voltage and still the 0.5w increments, both things I've named as minor cons in other reviews.

Now the new Zenith II tank. From a quick glance it looks very similar to the first Zenith, but there is quite some differences hidden in the functionalities.

Cannot complain about the looks of this tank, it looks simple and is not overbranded. Only Innokin and Zenith II are carved into the airflow ring. Overall, the tank feels very solid and properly made.





Best part of this tank is the top-fill method, just give it a twist as shown on the top of the tank and it reveals a large enough fill port with a membrane. It can be hard to fill with larger bottle tips as the drip-tip is slightly in the way, but its not a huge problem.





It holds an impressive 5.5ml, which for a MTL/RDL tank is very welcomed. New thing on the Zenith II is that you are able to easily replace the glass by screwing off the top cap. On the first Zenith this was not possible. It does however not have juiceflow control as on the previous Zenith, Innokin had to choose between JFC and ability to replace glass. I think replacement of glass is a better choice and therefor am not too worried about not having JFC.

Just like any Z-coil tank, its an easy replacement of coil. Simply unscrew the base and you get access to the bottom of the coil which you can pull out and replace with a new one. With around half a tank of juice you can replace a coil without making a mess. Coils fit in only a specific direction because of the straight guiders.

There are several airflow options on this tank. Three individual hole openings (which seem of the same size) and one entire sleeve opening. The way the airflow is designed makes it a good MTL and RDL vape. I however find that even with just one tiny hole halfway open that it could have been tighter. It is not as tight of a draw as I like, and for sure looser than the Zlide. When entirely closing off the airflow it gets close to what I like, but still a bit too loose. Don't get me wrong, it is not a very loose draw, it is getting quite close to tight, I am just very much into extreme tight airflow for MTL. RDL airflow options are proper, you can get from very restricted to restricted.



Z-coils for me are still the best all-round MTL coils, and I have tried plenty. They are not the best coils if its about flavor, but if its about keeping up with a stabile flavor throughout weeks and longevity then they are just great. Still after so many years of using Z-coils and many new ones being releases, for me the 1.6ohm is the best. The mesh ones they do have a bit better flavor, but the 1.6ohm coils are just going and going, sometimes for 5-6 weeks.





If its about the RDL coil, they deliver very nice flavor and overall RDL experience with the RDL coil and Zenith II is very pleasing. One thing I do find happening with some of the RDL coils is that they lose their performance quickly, like after a week or so.

Overall performance of this tank is very good. The airflow and vape are very smooth and overall vape experience is very pleasing. Only had some gurgling action once, but after a while I figured I forgot to close the fill port. No issues with leaking whatsoever.


Conclusion:

A very nice MTL/RDL kit. Especially like the mod a lot! It just feels really nice to carry with me and performs as expected. It being 18650 replaceable is a very big plus.

The tank performs very well, but I still believe the Zlide (2ml) is the best Z-coil tank made so far. The Zenith II is better than the Zenith Pro in my opinion. But I do find the airflow slightly to loose for my type of MTL vape.

Con wise it is very minor, such as the 0.1w increments capabilities. I just was expecting maybe a bit more from the Fourier technology, you do feel it works, but the vape also becomes cooler. I mostly just vape in regular wattage to keep a nice warm vape.

Still all together, it’s a very nice starter-kit for those looking to quit smoking cigarettes as its easy in use and is trouble free.

Hi ECF members, In this review I take a look at the Obelisk 200 18650 Kit With Obelisk Tank from Geekvape. The Geekvape Obelisk 200 18650 Kit was supplied for the purpose of this review by Allison from Geekvape.

Introduction

Geekvape have been on the block for a long time but over the last 4 years have been known for their multiple Aegis devices and Zeus atomizers with most other products released under the Digiflavor brand.

Bearing that in mind it's nice to see a complete new range of devices that are not IP67 and don't bare the Aegis name, don't get me wrong quite rightfully the Aegis devices with their IP67 rating are popular it's just nice that they are now manufacturing an alternative range as I am sure most don't want every device they own to look like a tank going into battle!

The Obelisks keep the familiar display and user interface but aesthetically it's an all new look and here the 200w version that I am looking at is claimed to be the smallest dual 18650 device, although I have heard that claim multiple times I must say the Obelisk 200 is very small being both smaller and lighter than the 120FC version so just maybe it could be? Unlike the 120FC version with this being a dual 18650 device we don't have the PD Fast Charging or Power Bank feature. The Obelisk 200 has all the usual modes, Power, TC-SS, TC-TCR, VPC (power curve) and Bypass, let's crack on!

Aesthetics and Ergonomics

The Obelisk 200 Kit I was sent came in sample Black cardboard box packaging with outer cardboard sleeve with contents, specs etc on the reverse. I received the Black version which came with matching Black Obelisk Tank, the options are Silver, Blue, Gunmetal or Black.

Either side we have a large rectangular panel which is made from 4 layers with the final top layer giving a mirrored look, it sounds similar to the IML process apart from unlike the IML process these panels are fingerprint magnets, on the vertical towards the front at the top on each mirrored panel we have "geek vape" in a mirrored Silver finish!





Unlike on the Aegis the front panel is curved and instead of a light switch style fire button we have an horizontally positioned rectangular fire button which protrudes nicely and is both mushy and clicky. Below we have the screen followed by the horizontally positioned navigational rocker which again protrudes nicely and has the same mushy and clicky feel as I found with the fire button, finally below the rocker we have the Obelisk logo.

The spine is curved with spaced vertical corrugations and moving to the base we have a slide off battery panel with safety stamps, branding and grooves to help the sliding off process! Moving up top we have Stainless Steel with a brushed finish rather than a plate and the threading is directly machined into the Stainless Steel top, the brushed finish will help hide any scratches caused by attaching atomizers, the 510m is Gold plated and Spring loaded.

The device is comfortable in the hand and with it's CNC machined Aluminium main construction is much lighter than I expected, build quality is very good, no complaints at all apart from as mentioned those fingerprint magnet side panels!

Obelisk Tank Overview

The Obelisk Tank is a bottom airflow slots alternative to the top slots Zeus Sub-Ohm tank and takes the same Z coils. The tank has a 5.5ml capacity with it's bubble glass which is standard while the TPD version comes with a 2ml straight glass, both versions come with a spare glass! The base reveals branding, safety marks and a Gold plated protruding positive pin.





The Obelisk tank has a child lock feature with a spring loaded top-cap which needs lifting before sliding open.





Once open we have a self sealing membrane covered fill port and when filling with certain bottles the drip tip can become an obstacle so needs removing first! The drip tip supplied is a Goon fitting 810 so you can use one of your own if you prefer!

The Coils and Fitting Them

The Obelisk tank has 2 included coils which are both kanthal mesh, all other Z range coils are also compatible. Pre-installed we have the 0.2ohm Mesh single coil head which is rated between 70-80W. The other included coil is the 0.4ohm single mesh coil head which has a rating between 50-60W, the specs are etched onto the coil head shells.

The mesh is more of a Netting style giving plenty of surface area with large gaps between so wicking will be no issue, the coils also have 4 very large wicking ports.

The coil head simply gets press fitted into the chamber and pulled out to remove, if you have any problems pulling the coil head out you do receive a tool to help but I have had no issues. Looking on the chamber we can see 2 large wicking ports to allow e-liquid to surround the coil head. We also have 2 protruding tabs on the coil heads and little indents on the side of the chamber, these tabs need to be lined up for the coil to be properly fitted!

Fitting The Batteries

The Obelisk 200 accommodates dual 18650 batteries that get fitted via the bottom of the device. The trade off in it's small size is the battery panel removes rather than being hinged and slides along a rail securing tabs in place both to the rear and towards the front, we also have a magnet towards the front to make it even more secure!

Although when pressing down on the door we have some play towards the rear the dual tabs plus magnet system actually is very secure but having to line the tabs up before sliding into place can be fiddly and I am never a fan of small bottom doors that detach, but like I mentioned it does help save space!

You can use the vibrant orientation markings at the bottom of the tubes but would still like to see orientation marked in Bright White on the underside of the slide door rather than just embossed into the metal.

Display

The display is very bright and sharp as well as being very familiar if you have some of the Aegis devices that tend to use the same display and menu system. Everything is lined up vertically so up top we have the battery status bars followed by mode, then underneath the mode we have either wattage, temp or voltage depending which mode you are in.

In the lower section we first have resistance followed by amps, then voltage and finally the puff count which shows vape duration while firing!

Operating The Device

The Obelisk 200 is the usual 5 clicks of the fire button to turn on and 5 clicks to turn off, once on holding both + and - sides of the rocker at the same time locks the navigational rocker but the device will still fire. The brightness percentage of the display can also be adjusted by either pressing fire and left together to decrease or fire and right to increase!





3 clicks of the fire button highlights the mode which can then be changed by using the navigational rocker, the modes are Power, TC-SS, TC-TCR, VPC (power curve), and Bypass.

When the mode can be changed via the navigational rocker a press of the fire button will take you to any item on the screen which can be altered in turn so for example when the screen is on power but still highlighted then a press of the fire button will highlight Puffs and pressing - will reset them, when TC-SS is highlighted for example it works the same way and you have options to resample and lock resistance. Also when a mode is highlighted pressing both sides of the navigational rocker now instead of locking changes the colour of the accents on the display, each press changes them to a new colour, the options are Orange, Yellow, Blue, Light Green or Red!





When VPC (power curve) is highlighted each press of the fire button allows the next section of the curve to be altered using the navigational buttons and when finished holding fire for 2 seconds sets the curve!

On the normal working screens the wattage can be adjusted from 5w to 200w in 0.5w increments with single presses or 1w increments with an adjustment button held down, it scrolls quickly and round robins. Again in TC the temp round robins between Celsius and Fahrenheit with Celsius adjusting in 1 degree increments while Fahrenheit adjusts in 5 degree increments.

Charging

As usual I would encourage to charge externally but if you do need to charge in the device the Obelisk 200 has balanced charging and Type C USB with 2.5A max charge rate. The Obelisk 200 also supports pass through vaping and upgrades!

My Thoughts!

First I will start with the Obelisk tank which performs very similar to the Zeus sub-ohm tank with the only real difference being the bottom airflow slots rather than the leak resistance top to bottom airflow found on the Zeus. Both supplied coils I have used before and the 0.2ohm single mesh which gives a very open draw is good for flavour but liking more restriction I much preferred the 0.4ohm coil at 50w with airflow just a third open for a quite loose RDL draw, almost a semi restrictive draw, the flavour with this coil I also found to be above average and superior to the 0.2ohm coil which I found best with half airflow and at 70w but just not the way I like to vape, just too open and shutting the airflow down further doesn't suit the coil head, it also needs mentioning i found the tank to be quite loud! The main feature is the Child lock feature which some will like and some would prefer the bayonet standard fitting Geekvape usually employ! I just don't use sub-ohm tanks as I find they give far too much air for my liking and I prefer more modest wattage, the only niggle I found was the drip tip could get in the way when filling using some bottles which meant the dip tip needed removing first!

If you like how the Aegis operates and it's menu system then you will be pleased the Obelisk 200 is navigated the same way with performance to match. Love the fire button (nice and clicky), response and ramp up is as good as on most devices, of course you also have the VPC mode if you want a bit extra power up front before tapering to the wattage you require!

I really like the compact size and styling of the device and during testing i had no issues whatsoever, although i am not a big fan of detaching bottom battery panels it does fit securely so not a deal breaker! The device has a cleverly implemented curved extension either side where the atomiser will sit allowing for a 26mm without overhang rather than 24mm as this is a small device which is another pro. Although I would always encourage external charging we have balanced charging, Type C connection with 2.5A max charge rate, the device also supports pass through vaping and upgrades!

Misusing or mishandling lithium-ion batteries can pose a SERIOUS RISK of property damage, personal injury, or even death. They are not supposed to be used outside of a fully protected battery pack and you use them at your own risk. Never exceed the battery’s true continuous current rating and keep the plastic wrap and top insulating ring in perfect condition.

Testing batteries at their limits is dangerous and should never be attempted by anyone who has not thoroughly studied the dangers involved, understands the risks, has the proper equipment, and takes all appropriate safety precautions.

If the battery has only one current rating number, or if it only says "max", then I have to assume the battery is rated at that current level for any type of discharge, including continuous.




Test Results
This is a great performing ultra-high capacity cell that performs essentially identically to the red Sanyo NCR18650GA that I tested years ago. It’s one of the best 18650’s we have above 3000mAh but should be used at 5A-7A (15W-20W) or lower due to voltage sag.

The two cells I tested delivered 3461mAh and 3468mAh. This is fantastic consistency, typical for cells from the big manufacturers. Both cells significantly exceeded their 3300mAh rated capacity.

asMODus Xeneo 80W Kit; First impressions:
Xeneo is a kit with 510 thread, powered by a single 18650 battery for a maximum output of 80W. Xeneo uses a "mixed" MTL / RDL tank (steel and pctg) with a capacity of 3.5ml, in the kit there are two resistors; a Mesh for the RDL vape and a vertical-Coil for MTL.

For this test I received the kit in the "White" color version which is actually a chromatic combination of two colors; white / pearl and black / opaque. The mod is equipped with an "aesthetic adapter" in ABS for atomizers up to 25mm in diameter. The adapter is really well made, perfectly integrated into the Mod line and takes the same color of the screen, the buttons, the tank and the back of the frame.

asMODus Xeneo 80W Kit on the whole adopts a very sinuous and elegant design that turns out to be really ergonomic and pleasant to hold in the palm of the hand. Xeneo Kit in relation to its extremely compact dimensions seems rather heavy, this accentuates the impression of structural solidity that is obtained by using it.

AsMODus Xeneo 80W Kit is not a "very recent" product and the fact that little has been said about it on the web surprises me! I looked for news on the net, there are very few of them. This is strange, because Xeneo Kit with its beautiful design, seems to me really an entry level product worthy of attention!



AsMODus Xeneo 80W Mod; Front / back view:
The front is slightly concave in the center with a sort of "S" design, the screen follows this sinuous profile. The round-shaped Fire key is slightly protruding and has the asMODus logo imprinted on it. Below the screen are the "+ and -" adjustment buttons, protruding and made of plastic material (such as the Fire key).
In the rear part the "handle" is not covered by the usual imitation leather element but is naked and smooth elegantly integrated into the frame and emulates the cylindrical shape of the compartment / battery.

The dividing line between the black and white colors forms an "S", the white in the upper area embraces the back side while the black embraces the front side in the lower area. In the upper part the ABS adapter looks like a single piece while in reality it is removable. I noticed that with some tanks the conformation of this element can suffocate the air slots limiting the flow rate, however with a sponge spacer (spongebox) it is easy to solve this problem by finding the ideal position for a free passage of air.

Some of y'all may remember me, some not so fondly, but that's okay. I used to be a very frequent and outspoken contributor here.

I haven't posted in awhile. Mainly because I fell off the wagon big time after 5 years of vaping and felt like a hypocrite posting on these forums.

I've tried new vaping products in the interim and just haven't been able to stay away from the cancer sticks.

That changed for me yesterday after trying the Iqos device.

I tried one, bought one and haven't had an analog since.

For those wondering about these, especially those who are looking for that missing something with nicotine salts, WTA etc, give these a try.

They are basically a miniature dry herb vaporizer for tobacco.

You get that same instant rush from a cigarette, those same missing chemicals, and a very similar hand and mouth feel.

No harshness or coughing like from vaping either. And the taste is PHENOMENAL. I'm not a fan of tobacco flavors....have never smoked for the taste.... but this is the fullest, cleanest tobacco flavor I've ever experienced.

And the best part is, since nothing is burning like a cigarette, there's a big reduction in tar and harmful chemicals.

Hi all,
New member here.
I have a Cool Fire IV battery that is charged. When I press the button, the green light comes on and the display numbers start going up, but there’s no power. I was using it not long before this happened. I also replaced the coil tonight and used it successfully afterwards.
I’ve tried switching it off as per the instructions - press the button 3 x times then the manual switch to off on the bottom, but still nothing when I turn it back on.
Any suggestions gratefully received.
