Sublingual absorption of nicotine base to replace nic gum

I find 10-15 pcs/day of 2mg nic gum along with vaping ~10ml of VG sufficient to eliminate cravings. I don't like the harshness of mixing nic base with the VG so I'm thinking of mixing 100mg nic base with equal parts of VG resulting in 50mg/ml or 2.5mg/drop (assuming 20 drops/ml) for sublingual absorption. I've tried this a few times and it seems to work and it's much less expensive than the gum.

Any opinions?

Hi everybody!

I'm an old ex smoker (yikes) who had just found vaping. I just received my first rta, a squape e motion, sooo beautiful and I just felt happy as a kid on christmas! I'm still researching for a mod, can't wait!

Went to a vape shop and had a wonderful experience, they where so happy to help, gave me a taste of some cuban cigar disposable thingy and I was instantly 100% vaper 4 ever! The flavors, the smooth feeling of the vapor just WOW!

I love cuban cigars a but hate smoking them, my first batch of DIY N.E.T. is already steeping.

Vaping should be mandatory* for smokers. I've been reading like a maniac for days and I feel so relieved to know that very soon I'll be able to have all the flavor and none of the harmful combustion smoke.

Cheers to all vapers on earth!
Live long and vapor for all!

*I think mandatory is not the right word because it's authoritarian, but somebody may hit the nail and help me with my english.

Ordered 1.5 liters of nicotine and returned it because it was brown and I opened 1 of the bottles and it smelled bad. I returned the product at my expense (per their policy) and got confirmation that they received it. They said they wouldn’t refund the opened bottle even though they never said it couldn’t be opened. However, they have ignored the last 3 emails I’ve sent them asking where my refund is, at the very least for the 1 liter. I opened a dispute with my credit card and am awaiting the outcome. I emailed them several times trying to get this resolved as I wanted to give them a chance to remedy this before posting a negative review. It is totally unacceptable that they have received the return and are ignoring multiple emails inquiring as to the stats of the refund. This is the worst experience I’ve had with a vendor in my 3 years of vaping making hundreds of purchases from various online retailers. I will never order from this company again.

I got a new tank from a friend and it has pieces that I don't know the purpose of.

The Tank He Gave Me Is A SMOKE TFV12 Prince Tank:
And it came with what appears to be green O-Rings (2 of them) about half an inch in diameter does anyone know what these are for? Aside from the color, they look like the ones pictured below. (I know what the white thing is used for it's the O-Rings that I am not sure about).

(The manual didn't tell me and I went onto the company website where it said the full manual was but couldn't find it.)

Problems with atomizer connection

Hey, the name's Bellial, I have an Innokin Proton with a plex tank and use triple plexus coils.
A few days ago I started noticing that the base of the mod where the atomizer connects started to loosen (don't know how you call it in English) and today it got worse in a way that sometimes the mod presents the message "check atomizer". Attached link to video to better understanding. Is there a way that I can fix it or I should just go and put the vaper on the guarantee?
Thanks in advance.

Hello

Allow me to introduce myself ...... again. It may say "New member", but I am not a new member. The truth is I registered years ago, forgot my log in information and registered again.

Anyway, it's good to be back. This place is still the best place for information about vaping.

SMOK RPM 40 Pod Mod Kit

Hi ECF members, In this review i take a look at the RPM 40 Pod Mod Kit from Smok. The SMOK RPM 40 Pod Mod Kit was supplied for the purpose of this review by Tinna from Buybest.

https://www.buybest.com/product/SMOK-RPM...69214.html

Introduction

Smok haven't been quite as prolific of late but have recently brought out a few devices the RPM 40 Pod Mod being one of them. The cuboid shaped pod mod with screen and fully adjustable wattage is the way i believe the market will go in regards pod/AIO devices in 2020 with the market reaching saturation point when it comes to the smaller, simple pod devices.
The RPM has adjustable wattage which can be adjusted up to 40W, a display that can be customised and comes with 2 different pods/cartridges, one which accommodates replaceable RPM coils and the other accommodates Nord coils so the available coil options are multiple.
With a 1500mAh in-built battery, an RPM RBA available and coming in 8 colour options, let's give it a look!

___________________________________________________________________

In The Box

Contents:

Standard Edition:
• 1 x RPM40 Device (1500mAh)
• 1 x RPM Standard Pod (RPM Mesh 0.40ohm Coil Preinstalled) (4.3ml)
• 1 x RPM Nord Pod (Nord DC 0.60ohm Coil Preinstalled) (4.5ml)
• 1 x USB Cable
• 1 x User Manual

EU 2 ml Edition:
• 1 x RPM40 Device (1500mAh)
• 1 x RPM Standard Pod (RPM Mesh 0.4ohm Coil Preinstalled) (2ml)
• 1 x RPM Nord Pod (Nord DC 0.60ohm Coil Preinstalled) (2ml)
• 1 x USB Cable
• 1 x User Manual

___________________________________________________________________

Aesthetics and Ergonomics

The RPM 40 comes in a cardboard box with outer cardboard sleeve and when opened we find all items on one layer. I received the Prism Gold version, the colour options are Bright Black, Prism Chrome, Orange, White, Prism Rainbow, Purple Red, Green and Prism Gold, depending which version 3 sides have either colourful designs or Carbon Fiber panels.
The form factor reminds me of the Cube X from OBS but slimmer and of course instead of fitting a tank up top we have the Black protruding squared off mouthpiece of the pod/cartridge. If the other metallic colours are the same as the Gold i received the chassis is a fingerprint magnet but overall seems a durable finish and the build quality is very good.
On the face we have a Black panel which houses a square protruding fire button at the top and side by side rectangular navigational buttons towards the bottom, in-between we have a large coloured screen. Both sides and rear have carbon fiber panels on the version i received with some understated branding on the rear panel. Both sides towards the top we have slots cutout to allow air to the pod/cartridge and moving to the base we have the micro USB port.
The device is a nice portable size and weight and feels great in the hand when in use.

2 Different Pods/Cartridges

You receive 2 different cartridges and while they both appear to have the same dimensions each house a different family of coils which itself changes the pod/cartridge capacity. Both Pods/Cartridges are 2ml with the TPD version although i don't see how they can have exactly the same capacity as the RPM coils are bigger than the Nord which surely reduces capacity. With the standard version the Pod/Cartridge that accommodates the RPM family of coils has a capacity of 4.3ml and can be identified by being a clear pod/cartridge with a Red fill bung which says "RPM" on it. The pod/cartridge that houses the Nord coils have a 4.5ml capacity and can be identified by having a smoked finish and a Black fill bung which says "NORD" on it. Although the Nord pod/cartridge has a smoked appearance there is no issues with seeing the e-liquid inside, with both pods/cartridges the coils get press fitted with attached base section into the pods/cartridges.

___________________________________________________________________

The Pods/Cartridges

The pods are a cube shape with Black squared off mouthpiece and i have already explained the differences between the 2 pods/cartridges you receive.
On one side of the pod/cartridge we have a large bung that can be pulled out via the outer edge leaving the bung still attached to the pod/cartridge. The fill port is one of the biggest i have seen on a pod/cartridge just make sure you have the pod/cartridge on it's side then you can fill quickly and absolutely mess free.
Looking at the base of the pod/cartridge with installed coil you can see the round central positive and negative surround spit in 2 parts (allowing pod to be fitted 2 different ways) peek separates the positive and negative sections. The pods/cartridges have no adjustable airflow but if you look at both sides of the device we have 2 generous slots cutout to allow plenty of air to get to the pod/cartridges leaving airflow to be controlled by the bore of the coil heads.

___________________________________________________________________

The Coils

You get 2 coils included both of which are pre-installed in the included pods/cartridges. In the RPM pod we get the RPM 0.4ohm Mesh coil with a recommended wattage of 25W, in the Nord pod we get the Nord regular 0.6ohm dual coil recommended at 20W.
Being able to use both RPM and Nord coils gives plenty of available options:

___________________________________________________________________

RBA Available

If you spotted it bottom left on the picture of the available coil heads you would of noticed there is an RPM RBA head available which will spark an interest i'm sure. The RBA comes with wire and cotton to do a 0.6ohm build and when doing other builds you need to make sure the minimum resistance is 0.25ohm, it's a real shame this isn't included in the kit.

___________________________________________________________________

Fitting The Pod/Cartridge

Looking inside the pods bay we can see the positive and negative Gold plated, spring loaded contacts and the inside of the side cutouts which will allow air to the pods. We can also see front and back small indents that correspond to protruding notches on the pod/cartridge. These notches just make the pod even more secure when press fitted into place, the pod/cartridge fits very securely in fact it takes quite an effort to remove which normally should be a pro.
I said should be a pro but i wish the pod/cartridge could actually be removed just slightly more easily as one of the main cons for the device is that only the Black mouthpiece of the pod/cartridge protrudes from the top of the device so you can't see your juice level which means you need to remove the pod/cartridge to check, luckily i received the standard version so with having a large capacity this isn't as much of a problem as it could be.

___________________________________________________________________

The Display

The colour display is very bright and impressively sharp with all the information needed on show. Top left we have "SMOK" then top right we have the battery status bar. Underneath we have the wattage and below this a wavy line. Underneath the line positioned centrally we have the time of your vape which stays displayed until your next puff is taken.
Next we have resistance followed by voltage and then your puff count. Bottom left we have a painting pallet icon followed by 6 different coloured squares in an horizontal row. The main information is in white but added icons and the mentioned wavy line can be customised to be one of 6 colours.

___________________________________________________________________

Navigating The RPM 40

The RPM 40 may have a pod/cartridge that fits to the device but the device operates just like any other variable wattage regulated device. The device is the usual 5 clicks to turn on and 5 clicks to turn off and once on the wattage can be adjusted in 1W increments from 1W to 40W, it doesn't round robin.
We do have a number of combination key press features which include pressing fire and left together resets the puff counter and fire and right together moves to the next colour option if you want to change the colour of certain items on the screen, the colours to choose from are Red, Orange, Blue, Magenta, Green and White.
Pressing the fire button 3 times locks the whole device so it will not fire, alternatively you can lock just the navigational buttons by pressing them both at the same time. Finally as expected the device has the usual safety protections and if one kicks in a message is displayed on the screen.

___________________________________________________________________

Protections

High-Temperature Protection
8 Seconds Cutoff
Short Circuit Protection
Low Voltage Protection

___________________________________________________________________

Charging

The RPM 40 has 1A charging, well actually they admit it is actually 0.88A but most manufacturers round the figure up so 0.88A is about norm for the claim of 1A charging. You charge the device via the micro USB cable and both a battery status bar and the charge given as a percentage is displayed while the device is being charged, the RPM 40 also supports pass through so you can vape while charging. The USB port is on the base of the device which i don't like as i much prefer to be able to stand devices upright while charging. Charging took just under 2 hours on each occasion i charged and that included doing a bit of vaping during it's charge.

___________________________________________________________________

How It Vapes and My Thoughts!

The device is cracking, it really is much better than i was expecting. I have also been testing the Voopoo Vinci which of course is so very similar and although that device has certain things in favour of it going by what i have heard on forums i thought as a comparison it would be a hands down victory to the Vinci but it's a lot closer contest than that. Unlike the Vinci where i get (not 100% certain whether it's condensation or a bit of escaping e-liquid) moisture in the pods bay the RPM 40's bay stays dry, also there are so many coil options including an available RBA for the RPM 40 which goes in it's favour. How the two devices perform is very similar but i do like that i can see the juice level without having to remove the pod on the Vinci and of course you also have the option of draw activation as well as the physical fire button.
The Draw using the RPM 40 is a restricted direct lung with the bore on the coil heads determining just how restrictive, some of the coil heads might allow for MTL but considering the air the pods are getting it's going to be a loose MTL but really the mouthpiece just isn't suited to that style of vaping.
The device fires as quick as any modern regulated device and hit's set wattage instantly, i found it performed excellently and really have no complaints.
The Nord coil performed great giving solid flavour although i have used Nord coils in the past so knew what i was going to get but the pick was the RPM Mesh coil which gave really good flavour and lasted for 6 refills before any sought of drop off but even now the flavour is far too good to toss the coil just yet. I was fine with the 20W recommendation with the Nord coil but found the 25W for the RPM coil didn't give a cool vape but just felt a bit more warmth would be ideal, i bumped the wattage up to 30W and this was much better and the coil took the extra wattage comfortably in it's stride in fact while testing 70VG liquid even wicked perfectly ok with a bit of chain vaping at 35W. I used both 50/50 and 70%VG juices and both coils handled both well and as mentioned the RPM coil had no problems wicking well over it's recommended wattage.
I also like the shape, size and weight of the device it's ideal for a carry about, i feel charging was about par for a 1500mAh battery and supporting pass-through is a pro but i really don't like the position of the USB port. Other things i like is the display (including customisation), the amount of coil options available and also having an available RBA head but i really think the RPM 40 would gain much more interest if this was included.

LB Basic Salt

I'm new to DIY and have been using Liquid Barn's bases (premixed PG/VG/nic) in 12mg (regular) and 24mg (salt) to get started. I'm learning a lot as I go and have a growing collection of decent liquids I've made from online recipes and experimentation.

However, I'm having some problems with my salt base: it destroys my coils. I have a Beserker 1.5 MTL RTA, an Ammit MTL RDA, and a Nautilus 2. I build between .6 and 1.2 and fire 15-20w in the rebuildables and use the .7 and 1.8 BVC coils, fired within their recommended ranges, in the Nautilus. When I use liquids made from the LB salt base, it kills my coils after about 3ml. I haven't had this issue using commercial salts, nic shots, or my DIY 12mg liquids.

Any suggestions? Is there a better source for salt nic, with or without PG and VG?

The best MTL RTA of 2019? - HellVape MD RTA Review

With all the interest on HellVape and Heathens Dead Rabbit V2, the HellVape MD RTA has flown under the radar a bit when it comes to RTA's...probably because its a MTL based one. The HellVape MD RTA, however, has got a very interesting airflow system which sets this tank apart from all the other MTL RTA's that got released this year.

Classic and modern vaping and long gone flavors

Hi.

I have been wondering about this for some time, maybe years, but it is now that I'm trying to figure out what's going on. The problem is that I feel that all the good classic flavors in vaping are gone.

I started vaping around 2014.

Initially I used just eGo batteries and simple clearomizers with silica wicks, which I coupled with commercial juices like Tribeca or Nutacco (which is a nut-tobacco flavor from Atmos Lab very popular in the EU and very similar to Halo's Prime 15).

Back then, the flavor I was getting from such a simple gear was amazing. There was the distinct roasted nut in Nutacco and that subtle sweet thing in Tribeca that made it stand as THE juice.

After a while I moved into the then popular Kayfun+Nemesis combo and starting building my own coils. After a few months the Kayfun was replaced with RDAs, the Nemesis with regulated mods and the silica with organic cotton. I also started to mix my own juices.

I'm still vaping RDAs and mixing my juices. I tend to favor flavor-chasing RDAs like the Hadaly, the Citadel or the Profile and I'm using Clapton-like fancy wires or even SS mesh, which I vape at moderately high wattages (40-60W) with double battery mods, but I'm somewhat missing the flavor I was getting in the old days.

I hadn't step into a vaping store for years, but a couple of days ago I stumbled upon one and fancied some Tribeca. The smell I remember is there, but I can't get nowhere close to the flavor I was getting back in 2014. It is not that it is muted. It is just that it is different, like a bittersweet flavor far for the rich sweetness I remember from the old days.

Same thing happens with Nutacco, DRY4 and such kind of flavors. I hoped that just buying a commercial ready-for-vaping liquid might get that flavor back, but I still get the poor bittersweet flavor I get from my mixed DRY4 in the commercial Tribeca I just bought.

Over the years, my vaping has changed so much that the loss of flavors could be because of anything. Maybe it is the wire, the wattage, the coils or even the PG/VG/Nic I'm using. It could be even my taste buds or just that the juices themselves have changed, but the thing is that I'm perfectly happy with fruity or desserty recipes such as this TMAX's Snake Oil clone or this Milk'n'honey clone. It is just that Tribeca/DRY4/Nutacco flavor profile that is lost for me.

I would like to know if anyone is experiencing anything similar with the classic RY4-like flavors and the modern vaping gear. Are there likely explanations for the missing flavor?

Best regards.

TL;DR: Back in the day and using primitive gear like eGo batteries juices like Tribeca used to shine. With modern fancy gear, they seem to have lost their flavor. Why?

Hello, my fellow Vapers.

I'm so glad to have stumbled on this forum. :) My name is Sarra and I'm 46 (you can call me Sarra or Chroma whichever you like). I live in Southern Indiana with my long term boyfriend Gary.

I started vaping with a (seems like) foot long vape pen back in 2014. I was still smoking cigs as I wasn't ready to quit at the time. I graduated to a 220w Smok Alien in 2016, and have had many subohm mods/tanks since. Currently I have a Voopoo drag 2 and just got a brand new Smok Tpriv 2 days ago. I'm in love with the Freemax Fireluke Mesh coils and the freemax tank, but sadly it (nor my baby beast tank) didn't fit in the tpriv for some reason so I bought a tfv8 big baby beast tank which fits fine. I'm still scratching my head on that as all 3 tanks are 510's.

Im thrilled to say I 100% quit cigs Sept 28, 2018. I tell ya, after 1.5 packs a day since 1992, I thought it'd be hard. I had 3 bad days and the rest has been cake. (not just cake flavored juice. I mean easy). Know what's impossible for me to quit? Soda. I'll drink water for a day or 2 then it's right back to soda. Stopping soda is 5 million times harder than quitting cigs.

Anyway I'll no doubt be a very active participant here and I'm looking forward to getting to know everyone. ❤️ Some day I want to learn how to make my own subohm coils (terrifies me as of now) amd I'm going to start learning how to make my own Juices. If I can recreate the recipes for Banana .... Left Cheek, Vapor Lock (an Evansville Indiana exclusive) and Pinup Betty, I'll be so content.

Okay. I'll leave this topic now. I have a few things to post regarding the potential ban. And also want to search "diy coils" plus maybe find juice recipes. :)

Nice meeting all of you  VAPE ON.

Vaping Thanksgiving dinner

OK, I know it's crazy, but I'm trying to find a way to make vape juices for a complete multi-course Thanksgiving dinner. Got the idea from the Willy Wonka movie. Most of it's doable... yams with brown sugar and toasted marshmallow, even corn bread stuffing, but I can't seem to find a turkey flavor. Any ideas (besides having my head examined)?

Cold Weather Battery Tips

It’s getting chilly here in New York City so I thought I’d post a few tips for the coming Winter...

- Never leave your batteries, or a device with batteries in them, outside overnight. The batteries are typically rated down to -20°C/-4°F but they can damaged if they are suddenly used hard.

- If you need to use batteries that have dropped below 0°C/32°F then run at low power levels for a few draws. This will help to warm them up without stressing them too much.

- If you are coming indoors with a cold mod or batteries then put the mod/batteries in a zip lock bag while still outside and press out all the air before coming indoors. This will help prevent condensation on the mod and batteries until they can warm up to room temperature.

- If your mod or batteries do get covered with condensation then I recommend not using them until the condensation evaporates.

- Never charge a battery that is at 0°C/32°F or colder. This can damage the battery and lead to thermal runaway which can cause it to catch fire and burst. Let the battery site for an hour to warm up.

- Batteries perform much worse when cold. This can lead to early low/weak battery alerts with a regulated mod and weak hits with a mech. Keep an extra set of batteries in your pocket (in a battery case) to swap into your mod if you find that your batteries are getting cold in between uses.

- Vaping in very cold weather is okay as long as you keep your mod somewhere that doesn’t allow it to cool to the outside temperature in between uses....an inside pocket, insulated container in your vehicle, etc.

Use your best judgement though. Batteries hate heat and cold. They’re really just happiest when at room temperature.
