Contradiction in terms.
Out to FINISH the hedges. Only about 15 feet to go. If I did not get sidetracked yesterday
with the arborvitae and red twig dogwoods, the hedges would be done.

Yawn...still catching up on sleep and threads.
@CES....I almost made a long post about missing Fido, and then I decided to skip it. Too depressing.
We left the TV on for GF's zoo. Best we could do.
Fireworks were fantastic. The last two years they were great too...and a small crowd at a local casino. Word has gotten out...the crowd was HUGE...packed all the nearby streets too. The only way we could park was to use valet parking (which turned out to be a real smart way to do it anyway. Cost a tip, but well worth it.) Machines were crap though...we both lost. Tables were either full or too expensive (BlackJack). We got done about 11:30 (letting the crowds get out a bit) and then tried to exit. Waited a bit for our turn, and then went home.
All in all, after grilling dinner earlier, it was a nice 4th.

I'll be done, raked up and out-to-curb by 11h00.
Around 15h00, I'll take a quick drive over a couple a roads to see if we'll be treated to
a fourth annual "Sunday After July 4th" fireworks show. HUGE party the last 3 years
culminating in me calling the sheriff. These are not your usual "residential"-grade
fireworks. They are BIG and LOUD. Oh... and ILLEGAL. NOT lawful. AGAINST the
law. Just so we are clear on that.

Anyway, it's part of the "Southern Culture" discussion and it was a post by UntaimedRose that explained the reference. I thought it interesting. Probably a bit regional in tradition, and also historical. It has a link to other stuffis too. I thought that those of you down South will find it interesting.
Of course I'll leave the flag debate for that thread.

@tiburonfirst, is that a yellow fronted? I had a blue fronted and his favorite thing was to scream
. He would cry at sad movies and scream at scary ones. At the appropriate times, too. Gave him to a friend last year as I wasn't giving him the attention he deserved. He's very happy now.
