Thanks, BLT. I've rebuilt a few for a friend that uses a triton ~ exclusively. He says it doesn't hit the same as factory coils. I use 32 ga kanthal and use whatever diameter is mentioned in the tutorial. 2.2 ohm. Only thing I can figure is the problem is I set the coil at the same depth as you. Will try and raise it slightly. Thought I'd ask first.

I haven't noticed any difference in hits. I have some new tanks (with new coils) and have not noticed a difference. By the way, when you cut the negative lead when rebuilding, bend the lead toward the center post. Since I started doing that, and the first time was by accident, I have not had any problems making a clean cut. Before, the negative lead was hard to cut cleanly and I often ended up with shorts.
