now lets hope they figure out how to mass produce decks in which the air holes line up. I've got my own method that works just fine, but I worry about those that haven't yet got their hands on this and just tossing it aside due to this issue. that would be like throwing away gold before noticing it was gold. I gotta give the file method a try.
it works fine, but the tank files away rather quickly so make sure you don't file away too much before checking its position.

There is a method to get your airholes to align perfectely to your center of your coil build if you wish to attempt it. I've got 3 RTDA's two 3ml and a 6ml. On one of the 3's it came aligned perfectely and the other two lacked approximately 1/8 turn or less to align to I sanded off the base of the tank until they aligned up perfectely. The threads that secure the tank to the coil base are very fine so you do not have to take off very much metal at all. Just a matter of a few 1000th of an inch only. The method I used was to dis-assemble the tank top, then holding the tank base flat against emory cloth sand it down until the holes align perfect. Check alignment often to insure you do not remove too much. Didn't take long at all for the two I did. See the pictures that I recreated showing how I did this. Attempt this at your own risk as it could destroy your RDTA.

I'm also the user that tapped to two post airholes and inserted grub screws to block them and drilled out the to remaining coil holes out to 3.5mm for more air flow. https://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/f...a-by-steam-crave.687100/page-40#post-16618860

Personally, I don't find that an issue as the top tank is able to be adjusted without any leaks. Additionally, I tend to play around with builds and I find some builds work better having an indirect airflow and some using direct airflow to the coil

For my latest vertical build, moving the airflow closer or further allows me to adjust the intensity of the flavor which I find useful.

But...that's my personal preference...lol

I've been using this method on a lot of things, pretty easy to keep it square if one is careful. Just check it often to avoid taking too much off.

this is why I haven't done it yet. I don't own a second one, but I do plan on getting a second.

What I find fascinating about this airflow ring is that for all the atomizers out there with integrated controllers, often times when I close them off all the way, I can still get air to come through---not with this joker! LOL Man, close this off and it is CLOSED off. I pulled to hard to check and I think I only flooded my coil because there was no air getting through at all! I like that. Oh, and I got my first successful build and it was a horizontal 2.5mm ID/5 wrap w/24 gauge running just abut in line with the air holes, but a smidgen above. I had tried that same build with verticals an it was meh. That is not to say vertical coils are meh--as I surely don't think others are lying or not capable of understanding what "good" is--but I am merely saying that MY build and vape experience was better off of a horizontal coil. My flavor is not amazing yet (though it is pretty good), so I will continue to build and reassess. It's so dadgum easy to build on, why not run the gamut?!

now its ok ! 2 mm 28 g 8 raps 1.4 ohm ..placed in center vapes nice ..2 opposing air holes open . just something to play with until my 34 gage for a Clapton coil comes in . 2.5 mm Clapton would fit nice in there !

Ahem...what I said about the flavor on *this* build being "pretty good"...over the past 10 minutes or so it went from pretty good to, wait a minute:::looks at the atty, vapes, looks at the atty:::it's dang good! The only thing I changed was that I had it with two holes open--but I needed a tad bit more air--so now I got my airflow controller set to three holes open. How? Well, it's saggin'! LOL. It looks amateurish but vapes like a pro!

For those doing Clapton coil, are you doing single or double? Horizontal or vertical?

double 2mm vertical, 26/32 .35 55 watts........flavor for days, perfect flavor even. as good as my velocity dripper with 2 air holes directly on the coils. it tastes like i am drinking juice :)

Do you feel like you get more flavor with the 3mm clapton vs. a 2.5mm? The reverse was true on my subtank mini, but I'm wondering if it's different with the aromamizer's big airflow.
I think I get better flavor with the bigger coil only because I can turn the wattage up a little more and get more vapor out of it. I Vape it at 85 watts

Thats what my plan was for when it arrived But i was a bit pushed for time so whipped them in as is :) have you tried both ways?

i have lots of juice already made for my rda's at between 3-6mg i've had to vape half a tank off and add neat vg as the flavour is to strong and the nic made me feel sick as hell earlier lol not good! .... good for the pocket :D

The vertical method is really where the velocity deck shines.

i dont know if anyone has touched on this but sometimes when i re-install my deck to the tank after a fill up the airholes arent lined up but ive found that when you have it all together and upright if i use a flathead on the +pos pin i can adjust the placement of the holes to the coils.

That just means you're slightly unscrewing the deck, doesn't it?

Yeah after i did this and started vaping i realised that that was what was happening, that i had unscrewed the atty from the base a little but its only a slight adjustment and that atty and base has plenty of thread i dont think it matters, obviously doing this will push the atty up towards the chimney ceiling a little but it was vaping great. its just another option if people need to adjust a little.

vaping with all four holes half open is really good here.. 60w - 24g A1k dual 2.5id 0.25ohm.
i have airholes directly in front of the coils but i can see through the underneath of the coils.

One of the velocity posts looks like its able to move, has anyone tried this yet? if it does then you could put both posts next to each other and have a much bigger vertical coil in the middle, the only prob i see is that the post you would move would sit over one of the juice holes unless you just moved the post a quarter of a spin or something close to that.
