I see Trading standards have started raiding vape shops and confiscating stocks of liquid.
Under a law of 1989 regarding the packaging of food stuffs.
Any item that can be regarded as tempting or damaging to minors can be taken and destroyed.

It's the likes of juices packed to look like ice cream, sweets etc.
One shop lost half of it's e-liquid stock.

Example....

So how come they only just decided to act on that law! How odd and utterly pathetic - a warning to get packaging changed or stop stocking it would have sufficed.

Can't say I particularly like gimmicky packaging, but it's usually not the shops fault.

Can you be a bit more specific about where you saw this, which agency is doing the raiding, and what law it is under?

There are laws concerning tobacco marketing, but the FDA did not specify anything related to e-cigs in the deeming regs other than MRTP claims.

No need for you to worry my friend. This is taking place in the United Kingdom.

Raids have only taken place so far in Liverpool.6 shops were raided and stock taken away and destroyed.

As my colleague said it is the other side of the pond, but the juices in question are probably coming from the USA, dolled up to look enticing (the ANTZ think to minors), it doesn't really help

So far, I can see no mention in a search of such a purge ....could it be peculiar to Liverpool's TS dept. ...perhaps an individual complaining about the packaging? - Not saying it won't spread of course if that is the case.

Thankfully Trish the National press have not picked up on this YET.
But you can check the story on the Liverpool Echo homepage.IMO it won't end just in one city.

True, it's likely to spread now - they'll be like bloodhounds trying to outdo each other!
It does look as though someone has alerted the TS people - I see they're 'investigating the supply chain'!

I can see both sides of it, but as said before, a simple heads up to the stores stocking it, with a request they stop selling it or discard the packaging would have been enough. They make it sound like the prohibition! ;)

Still, for me, if it's as good as they say it is, it doesn't need quirky packaging ...we only end up paying for it anyway.

I've noticed quite a few things on FT aren't well priced, these days.
Shame, but no doubt it can will all be blamed on the referendum  ....whatever - eventually, I remain sure things will iron out and settle down.

I suppose even the UK price on that one isn't too bad.

By the way, do Grumpy sometimes take a while to appear ...it says completed, but 5 days hence, it's not here yet.

...and, talking of Liverpool yesterday, did you see that the Liver Building is up for sale for the first time ever. Expected to go for up to 40m.

Think i waited about 7 days for Grumpy, Trish.

I'd love to buy that building,it's massive and beautiful. One of the three graces.
And stands on one of the best looking waterfronts in the world.
I remember as a kid getting the ferry across and always stood leaning on the rails as it docked taking it all in:)

40M = Bargain.
Just need to win the Euro millions now.

Gerry Marsden's Ferry Across the Mersey was a big favourite of mine - and although I've never been there, it always gave me goosebumps!

It is a beautiful building - a true Grade 1 listed British heritage, and I don't know why it's for sale. It says they've instructed CBRE (whoever they are) to sell it. But I do hope it doesn't end up in foreign hands.

Perhaps a group of patriotic businessmen may 'save' it :)

It goes on to say "The news follows last month's announcement that Liverpool's Grade II listed Municipal Buildings will be sold off as part of £90m of savings by the city council over the next three years."

I've met him,and he did stay true to the words of the song...."and here i'll stay".

Yes, i hope those buildings go to safe hands.
Me too - very much so!

You'll Never Walk Alone was the first single I ever got - came with my record player one Christmas ..probably '63. ...(I can still remember the lovely smell of the record shop!) :)

For me it's nothing to do with football, but originated when taken to see Carousel when rather small.
