They did last thanksgiving. half price on all nic under...37mg? something like that.

I got 4 500ml + 2 240?ml for around 50 bucks. It was exactly whatever the free shipping amount was.

Then I spent 75 dollars at wizard labs for bottles and flavors.

I'm set for quite awhile for pretty cheap.

My data sheet from Wizard says optimal storage temp is 34-41 degrees f, and they don't mention freezers. They say up to 18 months, but I suspect this is on the conservative side. That's in amber or cobalt glass bottles, but they ship it in plastic bottles, probably to avoid breakage. How long it will really last is beyond me. Mine has been sitting in the freezer two days, and I haven't checked it yet. It's still in plastic, though I plan to decant into Wizards amber 120ml glass bottles in a day or so.

This is pure stash as my small space is badly cluttered and I don't really feel the need for a hobby. I'm guessing that the 500ml will do it for me - along with all the random flavored juices rattling around in the same freezer. If I need more, I'll probably start tapering off as I'm not interested in black market products made by who knows who.

I sure do appreciate all the input on this. Below are some calcs to show how much nic one might need per ml of juice vaped per day at varying strengths. I also attached a spreadsheet for anyone wanting to plug in custom values. The biggest thing I hoped to accomplish with this thread was to get a good bead on the shelf life of nic and maybe any insight into how much extra nic you might need for typical losses encountered in mixing. As the calcs below show, calculating how much you need based on how much you vape is relatively easy, but what I don't know yet is if there might be some large % of nic lost in the actual preparation from nic left on mixing apparatuses etc.. Again, thanks for all the feedback.

To the people who posted using vintage nicotine a few pages back:
Just because it vapes good or tastes ok doesn't mean it hasn't deteriorated.. I would love to know what the mg content is after that long in the freezer.. There are pretty simple nicotine tests out there that could tell you.

Madvapes was doing a kinda scientific long term test. Things were looking good. Then after a few months I think they got bored and stopped the test?

Haven't noticed much talk about PG and VG shelf life. After all the nic we are stockpiling does have PG or VG. I bought a gallon of PG and a half gallon of VG around 2009; I'd have to check receipts to be sure. I keep the PG and VG in the garage: where is the love, I know. My garage goes from about 20F to about 90F.

I am still using that vintage PG and VG and it seems fresh as new about 4 years later.

I think VG can go bad. I keep it in the freezer like nicotine.

This thread and my recent venture into DIY led me to order 10X50mlX60mg/ml bottles of nic. I was amazed at how good a simple 5% single flavor juice could taste, and the cost...well my head just exploded at the potential savings :vapor: I figure that I have a 2 to 2-1/2 year supply of nic on the way, for the cost of about one months juice consumption. If things get really bad, or look like they are going to, I'll probably order more nic, or consider tapering off.
Just because your paranoid doesn't mean they're not out to get ya'!

I've read of one member reporting that their nic is good after 4 years in the freezer. Can't remember who it was but the avatar is colorful.

My freezer is stocked with 60mg nic, I don't like dealing with 100mg, pets, clumsy, etc. The way I do it is this-
Buy big bottle of nic
Transfer to 60ml glass bottles (a good working size for me), leaving about 1/4" of air in the neck of the bottle. I use phenolic polyseal caps.
LABEL all the bottles with vendor, nic strength, date
Then I put the bottle in a zip-lock, put them in a small box and label the box.
Rotate stock.

When I need a bottle, I pull one out of the oldest batch.

I do encourage you to test the nic first. For smell, taste, etc. You should also have a test kit. http://www.eliquidtest.com/BuyNow.aspx

i do similarly.

i use these... https://www.specialtybottle.com/glassamberpacker60ccblacklid.aspx
i shrink wrap the caps with these... https://www.specialtybottle.com/shrinkbandsb60x25250bundle.aspx

my last batch was labeled with these...

the shrink wrap isn't tamper proof, but it's tamper evident. i'll know if any of the bottles were opened. helps me feel safer.

i also make sure to test the nic strength and confirm it before bottling. DIY magnetic stir plate and erlenmeyer flask makes short work of that. thinking of putting a piece of tape down one side of the flask and painting it white with one strip for viewing to make color recognition that much easier.

EDIT; the stir plate moving at a high speed kicks up a froth in the liquid that makes it very opaque. the color comes through much better this way. just with the flask, i have to surround it with white things (paper, etc.) to have a reliable background color to know when to stop and start calculating.

yeah, i didn't realize there was a discount until it was too late, i think. :(

I almost missed the boat too. Early week site was closed. I thunk it reopened 15th. Wrong. 13th. Said 10% now-3-15-14. I tried half dozen times early morning 15th; said expired. Tried at lunch and went through first try.

Probably have bigger sale before year end unless something crazy happens.

I use similar labels, just more color. Might post when I get to my laptop.

I order my nic in VG. My juices always have VG, but some may not have PG so I go with the ability to make all VG juice. VG minimizes molecular movement within the bottle, helps keep the nicotine from interacting with the air bubble at the top of the bottle. I break mine down into 65ml amber glass jars. I fill them to the top, even with the rim, then pull exactly 2ml back out. I cover the mouth of the bottle with Saran Wrap stretched nice and tight, then clamp the lid down tight over it. Label and freeze, easy peasey. 63 ml in the bottle lasts my wife and I a couple of months, so far there's been no issues except for finishing a bottle mid-mix and having to stop and wait for a fresh one to warm up to room temperature.

I test my nic when it comes in. When I rebottle it, I KNOW what's in it. Perhaps when this batch I'm working through now hits the year mark I'll test it to see if it's lost anything. If you're not testing your nic, START! You don't want to trust to total strangers that you didn't watch the integrity of one of the deadliest poisons known to man that you plan to consume. Know for sure, kits are cheap. Treatment for vaping 65mg juice because the 100mg source was actually 243mg isn't.
