Coolfire IV next to ipv mini.

CoolFireIPVMini_zpsprajgkgv.jpg

The IPV mini is heavier than the coolfire. If anyone decides to get one, don't worry about color as it will most certainly need a wrap as the paint chips and scratches very easily. Mine came with a naked silverish button, and that's holding up fine. (Fleabay has some great wraps, inexpensive, too.)

Coolfire -- There's just something nice about Innokin products and the overall quality is very nice. It took a couple of minutes to get used to having to hold the Up/down button a bit before changing the voltage/wattage, but once accustomed to it, realize it's a great feature as it certainly helps keep one from accidentally changing the settings.

Coolfire is heavier than the Heatvape Defender (which is a tad heavier than an iStick), and I'm guessing similar to or perhaps lighter than the original MVP and IMHO much more comfy.

I join the long list of people that like the buttons where they are on these mods. I always use my thumb to fire my devices.

(The Xvo is NOT an itty bitty under $100 --- dang. It looks very sweet.)

I have an iPV mini and like it very much. If you don't like "heavy" mods, you may not like it, but I prefer something with a bit of weight to it. My MVP20 watt is the perfect size and weight for my liking.
I have an iPV2X also and it's lighter than the mini, but larger.

I received my Evic VT in the mail yesterday and have been using it since. The screen is large, clear and bright enough to see in daylight; the button is nice and clicky; the weight is beautifully balanced with the ergonomic design and the modulation is as smooth as butter.

I've only had a chance to use it in wattage mode so far, but the vape it provides is gorgeous. The painted body isn't as slippery as an anodized istick, but it comes with a silicon sleeve that is grippy but non-sticky (doesn't pick up lint, so far).

Not much more expensive than an iStick 50W, but more robust and sophisticated. I am in awe.

Looking forward to hearing your follow-up after you've used it for a bit. What color did you get? :)

So, thanks for the congrats and opinions. If I were to get a mod w/outside batteries any recommendations on those? I heard never get a battery w/"fire" in its name, anything else? Amps?

As I'm a low watts vaper I'm quite happy with AW IMR's and a couple past popular Hybrid chemistry models from Panasonic or Orbtronics.

You will want an IMR or Hybrid battery. I suggest going to RTD vaper and start getting familiar with the models as well as using a trusted vendor, as RTD most certainly is.

Amp limit is a big deal these days for the higher wattage users, but it's above my pay grade to say any more.

Thank you, T. That was an excellent comparative review, and was exactly what we were looking for. And with that, it is highly likely that we'll now jump, once the purples become available again. We've definitely decided on the purple, and are willing to wait for them.

The blue, by the way, was our 2nd choice, and is absolutely beautiful!

And finally, THANKS for the info the Xvo! ;)

These are the "blues" and a slam dunk deal from a reliable source. Samsung 25R's are widely reccomended on ECF and Illum is a good vendor.

SONY VTC5 batteries have been somewhat the gold standard for vapers but they're hard to find, expensive when you find them and have a high likelihood of being counterfeited.

I highly recommend Samsung's 25R batteries. LG's HE2 or HE4 batteries are also good choices.

Very trusted supplier at great prices. $6 for a single 25R. They also have SONY's VTC4 & 5

LG 18650HE2 2500mAh high current hybrid 18650 IMR battery HE2 Flat Top

SONY VTC4 @ 2 for $15 & VTC5 @ $16 ea.

Sony VTC5 2600mAh 30A 18650 High Drain rechargeable battery 3.7V

Here's a little graphic found in the TFA DIY e-liquid thread... Good luck, pokemom!

My picture doesn't do the color justice and appears washed out compared to the mod in person --- the CoolFire IV colors are quite saturated, bright and intense. Silly camera, the roses photo better than the blues!

I actually experimented with the IPV mini, which also longs for the button placement to be on the top rounded corner (according to Philipo). Using it that way, the mod actually started to feel like it was slipping out of my hand. There's simply the wrong equilibrium, or less equilibrium (if in fact there are degrees of equilibrium

The wider curved 'batt side' and the narrower button side is why passed on some and went for the Heatvape Defender (and the Kbox mini/subox.) The larger Kbox does the same curved and squared off sides - which is why I passed on it. IPVmini/mini bomber, Kbox, Coolfire IV have basically the same shape.

I was thinking along the lines of an Egrip, but that's only 20 W. Is there any other fixed-battery "all in one" like that that is higher-powered? I would have said an iStick 50W, but not the way they've been behaving. Any suggestions?

catsitter, what is your buddy vaping now? Why do they need more than 20 watts as a new vaper? Truly I'm kurious.

THAT was FUNNY!

Ahhhgreed! PIF that brute!

I like A-dubs myself, and thanks to DPL, I also like the Orbs (Orbtronics).

I can't wait to see the amethyst.

I have a feeling, aik, that it's going to be a darker shade of what we know as Chinese Pink...

Kent! We were just mentioning the Mini Bomber tonite! I wondered why that one got "passed up" by the vaping community. After all, it's got a PB button placement....... ;)

And yes, they all have a similar shape, and one I happen to like a lot!

She's been using cig-a-likes and tried my various devices, and the IPV Mini at 25 W was the one she liked.
