Kent! We were just mentioning the Mini Bomber tonite! I wondered why that one got "passed up" by the vaping community. After all, it's got a PB button placement....... ;)

And yes, they all have a similar shape, and one I happen to like a lot!

Kinda 'stylish'. 87x21x42 30W

Mini Bomber 30W Mechanical Box Mod by Shenxi Grey - ecigsful

Named "mechanical box mod" in the VV/VW section (when there's a mech mod section as well :- )

I am!!! I like them for utility purposes but they are ugly. I love the original colors of my isticks, and dislike the colors of the sleeves, but they sure do make them easier to hold. They also protect the color but I'm not sure what good that does if no one is going to see them.

Is it just me, or are any of you getting just a BIT tired of the blob cases?

As soon as manufacturers discover that design is more than copying the style of a juice box and painting it black (80's racing stripes are not an improvement).

They are better than nothing. The other option is paying $10-$20 for a wrap, if that exists which is an issue for mods like the Bomber.

If I recall, the Bomber also came in an odd shade of "orange", i.e baby diaherra poop brown if you've changed diapers before. They were not thinking.

Yeah, what's wrong with duct tape?

Of course, with practice and a springy enough blob, you could drop your mod, catch it on the bounce, and keep on vaping...

The Evic-VT is going to need all the help it can get. Wrap manufacturers are going to make a fortune on that one.

They should call the black one the Knightrider edition.
But then we have Kanger with their Storm Trooper and Darth Vader mods.
Darth Vader would never be caught dead with red accents!!!

I got an IPV mini based on a recommendation from this thread, and I really like it. It is a little heavy, but it performs beautifully. I get about the same battery run time out of it at 25 W (Subtank) as I get from my Provari at 12.5W (Nautilus). You will definitely want a skin for it, both because of its slipperiness and to protect its poor paint job. My fire button, which was black, is now naked. Unfortunately I dropped it one too many times, and it's headed back to the shop...

In the meantime, a friend is looking for her first mod. She's been using cig-a-likes, and wants more cloud, but similar ease of use. She tried my Spinner with a Nautilus and wasn't impressed, so I gave her the IPV mini set-up to try and she loved it. But she is not going to want to hassle with replaceable batteries, doesn't want a "fussy" atomizer, etc. She only vapes unflavored, so that makes it easier. I was thinking along the lines of an Egrip, but that's only 20 W. Is there any other fixed-battery "all in one" like that that is higher-powered? I would have said an iStick 50W, but not the way they've been behaving. Any suggestions?
Have you ever tried an eGrip? I love mine. I've run a Lemo at 0.6 ohm on a mech mod and I don't feel the need for that many watts with the eGrip. It's not a cloud factory but with Aspire coils or the RBA base it's not lacking in vapor production or flavor.

I had one for the rDNA-40 and liked it - black lol....liked the feel... but the early rDNA/DNA's had poor surface finish and needed one - now they've upgraded - the only thing with the case is that it defeats the cool magnet doors :)

For the life of me, I can't figure out how to blog a post either. Is there someone in charge of answering those types of questions?

Yes, there is. He and I are no longer on good terms. :grr: <hint hint>
