Has anyone else had issues with the magnets coming out of the door? I'm new in REO land and got my LP last week. The day I got it both of the magnets fell out from the door! I tried gluing them back in and then the door wasn't flush with the body so it scratched it up bad! I pm'd Rob and he sent me another door. I got it yesterday anD just now as I was putting the door back on, both magnets fell out! It's frustrating to pay so much for these things to have the same issue over and over again!

I just had a magnet issue. But that one was most likely my fault. I pulled my Reo out of my pocket getting into the car. Herd the dreaded CLANG CLANG on the cement! Luckily it was just my door. Must have slid off when I pulled it from my pocket. Have to say the door survived without a single scratch! But later I noticed I was missing a magnet, figured that's how it happened. No big deal, I'm planning another order next week, was just going to add a magnet.

My new SL/LP Kawi green just did it to me on the first day. 1 drop of "fast" model glue and all was fixed. I thought about pm'ing Rob but figured if I was careful I could do it myself.

If you don't have fast model glue you could use superglu. Just remember 2 things mind the polarity of the magnet (stick the magnets to the mating magnets and re-install accordingly). Second when using model glue use half as much as you think you need.

So sorry you are having this problem. It really is the first time I have ever read anything about this problem. Other than that, I hope you are enjoying the reo. I am new to them also but it was love at first toot.

First of all, Welcome to Reoville!

I want to assure you this is not typical for REO quality. No one expects to have a problem like this with a REO. Also the customer service is exemplary and your problem will be addressed if you again contact Reosmods.

I have a lot of REO's and have never had a magnet pop out.

Magnets are held in place with a drop of superglue. Usually that will suffice to keep them in through daily use.

Please don't hesitate to PM Robert once again with this problem.

I am so sorry your experience with a REO has started off badly.

I think the "magnet guy" might need to step up the quantity a little, I saw no glue in mine.

I didn't see any glue in mine either, just a dot of pink paint that's the same color as the body. Other than this I love it! A big step up from my MVP!

I am aware of the problem and I have already had a talk with the gentlemen installing the magnets .

So you talk to yourself now? :D Or perhaps you were being serious.

I've never had a problem with the magnets in my first 3 grands. However, the last LP grand that I ordered a couple weeks ago came with no magnets in the door, only the 2 in the body. Plus the door was installed and I couldn't find them in the box so I was scratching my head. I don't think there was any glue in the empty holes.

Anyway, I didn't even mention it to Rob because of the brain fart I had when ordering. The original order was for a regular grand, so I paid and then changed my mind wanting the LP instead. I thought the LP was $10.00 less but it was 10 more and Rob, being mr. cool, refused to let me paypal him the extra 10.

Well I showed him. After I saw the missing 2 magnets, I placed a $10 order for 6 magnets (spare reo parts give me inner tranquility) and a few other little items. Now we're almost even minus his cost. A Lannister always pays his debts.

I never realized how strong those little magnets are until that package came and I tried to pull one off the stack. Slip it off, go to set it down on the bar and... wham! It snapped 4 inches across the bar right back to the stack. That comes in handy after installing them cause you can do the door test. Don't slide the door in, just hold it about one inch high with all 4 magnets lined up. If the glue is the least bit weak, they'll snap right out to their mate. I didn't let the superglue cure long enough the first time so I reinstalled and let it cure 24hrs per the instructions. No more problems and all is well in my Kingdom.

 Rob does have helpers these days.
