The New England Journal of Medicine just published two vastly different recommendations
(by THR advocate Chris Bullen, and by vapor prohibitionist Stan Glantz) for doctors regarding vaping as a smoking cessation aid, and has posted a public poll asking readers if doctors should recommend or not recommend e-cigs to smokers.

The poll is currently at 59% for vaping, and 40% against vaping. Please cast your vote.

Public health advocate Chris Bullen tells truth about vapor products when ethically urging doctors to encourage smoker patients to quit smoking by switching to vaping
MMS: Error

Vapor prohibitionist Stan Glantz lies about scientific evidence when unethically urging doctors to discourage smoker patients from quitting smoking by switching to vaping

Voted.
The misinformation is so strong. Why? I just want to understand why. We are talking hard core smokers here who have tried everything they have offered. Nicotine is nicotine. But you can shove mg after mg of gum in your mouth forever and that is perfectly fine. I am of the belief that it is not so much the nicotine as it is the action. The hand to mouth inhalation. Otherwise why wouldn't the other NRT products have a higher quit rate if it was about nicotine? I believe it is not. And that is the reason for vaping's success.

Voted. I clicked on the link just below the first statement and it took me to the NEJM. I did not see a place there to vote, so I assume the link was the manner of voting.

There's a small poll panel in the right pane of the page, and it's not that obvious if you don't know where to look.

I saw that panel. It had the current percent for and against. But, it did not have a Hotspot for voting.

I just tried the link in a different browser (in case it was using cookies to track who voted), and the panel just showed me the results as well. The first time I visited the page, it didn't show the results until after I voted. I can only assume that they're either tracking by IP address (in which case, your IP address was assigned to you after the previous person who had it already voted), or more likely, they've close the poll.
