NEJM poll on e-cigs for smoking cessation, please vote

Voted, I have to say though, that if any medical professional is going to base a decision on the results of an online poll, I'm scared.

If you just voted, that's good cause it means the poll is still open. I can only guess that it's using IP address to determine who already voted, so I'll see if I'm able to vote again from work on Monday.

I just tried the link in a different browser (in case it was using cookies to track who voted), and the panel just showed me the results as well. The first time I visited the page, it didn't show the results until after I voted. I can only assume that they're either tracking by IP address (in which case, your IP address was assigned to you after the previous person who had it already voted), or more likely, they've close the poll.

This is strange--the first link in Bill's OP took me to a box that only shows percentages, no option to vote. The second link, below, had an open poll so I voted. Is it the same poll in both links?

Yeah, it's the same poll. The two different links just bring you directly to the Glantzian vision or the opposing viewpoint.

I do agree though that there must be some kind of IP logging going on. I have done all the obvious things and the poll is still closed to me since I already voted.

Yeah, now both are closed to me, too. The strange part is that it was my first click on the first (top) link that took me to a closed poll, while the second click (bottom) took me to an open poll and let me cast my vote.

I've voted 4 or 5 times so far. I'm using my phone and refreshing the page. It opens the poll back up. LOL! I don't know if it's actually logging my votes or not but it did go up by 1% while I was doing it.

I think that we're skewing their results. This is supposed to be a survey of doctors, not patients.
