I don't have a subox yet, but do have a ipv mini though, and I can not agree with the build quality on it, battery cap threads are crap and plenty of reports of them failing, and even more reports how bad the finish wears off the ipv mini, I am really gently with my mods, but the black is coming off my mini, only got to look at it and paint falls off it, but can't complain about the chip in it though.
I believe the paint chips, not from the ruffness, but from spilling of juice on it either through dripping or just normal usage. It weakens the coating. I too was really careful with mine not to knock it over or drop it, which I was successful, but to no avail. It also seems to effect only the black models as I own a silver ipv mini 2 and it seems to be a lot more sturdy in the aesthetics department. Not really an issue for me as paint has no bearing on actual build quality of the device. I do, however, hate that my black ipv mini has chipped and wish the coating would have been better but its nothing a vaporskinz couldn't take care of. I do agree with the threading on the battery compartment though. It definitely could be a lot better. As far as operation wise though... mine have not missed a beat.

Most important thing for me is flavor too... I love the rba too, it's awesome. Did you have the original rba? Or is this your first subtank and rba set up? I love these tanks!

Yes, actually too many original rbas. I've had the Subtank Minis since they came out. The stock coils were OK, but I wanted more, so I started building the RBA. Had wicking problems until I discovered Gary Lee's genius wicking method on Youtube. The flavor difference between the stock coils and the RBA is night and day. I like the look of the Subox, but prefer the Subtank over the Subox tanks. The Subox tanks are a little too warm for my taste. I do like the Subox mod and the new RBA, as it's easier/faster to wick and can handle higher VG juices better.

I recently got the subtank plus and I've noticed there is a difference for me in how it vapes compared to the mini. I don't know why it took someone else to say it but once I read your post it clicked, the mini does seem warmer. I have the same build in the mini and the subtank plus as well as the same juice and it's a lot different. I've been using them both for a few days trying to figure out why the mini didn't taste as good. But I'm just lowered the wattage on my mini and it's better. I was focusing on numbers and I guess I shouldn't when it's a different tank.... Thanks for turning on that light for me :)

I have the silver IPV Mini 2 and I don't have any issues with the finish at all. However, the battery cap is a pain in the .... to work with. I am currently using a Samsung 25R in it. I tried an Orbtronics SX30, but because the Orbtronics battery is about 1 mm taller than the Samsung 25R, the spring puts too much pressure on the battery cap and the threads just won't grab. I can screw it down as far as it will go and I just give the battery cap a rap and the battery cap pops off. And I'm using flat top batteries. I can imagine it would be worse if I was using button top batteries.

My post was a little ambiguous, so let me try again. Back in January, Kanger released a new product line called the "Subtank". There were three models, the Subtank (6ml), the Subtank Mini (4.5ml) and the Subtank Nano (3ml). Since then, the original "Subtank" is now called the "Subtank Plus" (7ml). All three models are made from stainless steel and glass, and look the same, except for size. The only functional difference between them is the Nano doesn't have a RBA. In late May, early June, Kanger released the "Subox" starter kit. This kit includes a tank that looks like the original Subtank Mini, but it's painted black or white and I think we've concluded that it's not entirely made from stainless steel and has a delrin (plastic) drip tip. The mod in this kit is called a "Kbox Mini" which is to differentiate from the original Kbox. A problem arises when discussing the Subox tanks. Although they are the same size and design of the original Subtank Mini, I haven't found a good name for them that differentiates the two. So... my point was, I prefer the original Subtank Mini over the Subox tanks. I think the Subox tanks are too warm, which is just a personal preference. However, due to Kanger's engineering consistency, I can use the Kbox Mini and the new RBA (which is being called the "Subtank RBA Mini Plus") with my existing original Subtank Minis. Lastly, the pre-built stock coils for the Subtank have been "improved" by moving to as vertical coil. So regardless of any tank or any pre-built stock coils, the original RBA and the new RBA Mini Plus both, are providing me with more flavor, which is what I'm after.

Quick question. So wahts better? Taking the battery out and using a charger or just using the USB charger? The USB is so much more convenient.
At this point there haven't been any reports of bad charging ports and Kanger verified that the device has overcharge protection. I would say just do what makes it easier for you.

Summer Time 2015~~ GiveAways!!! Kanger Subox Mini!!!

I see what you did there...you know technically those "referral links" are against the rules, right? I'm not gonna report you, but if you want to stay on the admins' good side, you might want to remove the part of that url after and including the dash so it's just a link to the contest...
