Then my brothers and my dad turned those skates into a skateboard.

My dad made all the kids scooter boards if they supplied the skates. The steel skates would be screwed to a plank and a vertical piece of wood would be mounted along with some pipe for a handle. Unlike the modern scooter, the wheels were fixed and the only way to turn was by leaning. this was about 1957.

Not really a 'toy', but this came out when I was about 5, and my Mom bought some to try out!!

She showed it to me, how the little stripes came out of the tube when you squeezed it, and then told me to go in and brush my teeth. Later that day I had a really bad stomach ache and she couldn't figure out why... until she went into the bathroom and saw the empty tube of tooth paste sitting on the sink!!! I had eaten the whole thing... 112.gif LOL!!

Needless to say, she never bought that brand again!!!
