I have tried it, pretty good stuff and very smooth. I noticed a difference when I did a side by side comparison with ..... standard offering. I did them both at 10mg 100% VG, on a dripper, dual coil at 55 watts. There is a scratchiness in the regular that is absent in the smooth. I did get a very light tobacco flavor from the smooth that i don't pick up in the regular, it is not a displeasing taste and is a truer tobacco taste than anything else I have sampled.

Do you think the tobacco flavor is strong enough to really affect my fruity or candy flavors?

Nope, you should be good, it is a very light flavor. I only picked it up plain, fresh wicks, and at 10mg. It is a REALLY nice nicotine.

edit - i suppose I should also add that I pick up a tobacco flavor with most nicotines where others often dont. Quirky taste buds or something.

How do you mix the salt based? I want to use it in an eleaf icare for stealth quick vape

It's actually just a PG based nicotine liquid. It's called "Nicotine salts" due to small chemical changes made the changes certain characteristics without changing the actual properties of nicotine. Something the makes it have a harsher or smoother throat hit basically. I have the "smooth" and it helps me get the nicotine I crave while also reducing the throat hit and burn that usual comes with standard nicotine. It's perfect for me. I get the nicotine buzz in a 6mg liquid without the sore throat that I normally get with a 6mg liquid. Some people want less nicotine but still want that little thump in the back of their throat as if they were smoking a real cigarette. It's all about each person's preference and these nicotine salts help to customize the vaping experience.

UPDATE: I've been using the nicotine salts for about 2 months now and I'm hooked. I've always had a problem with nicotine cravings with 3-4mg eliquids OR coughing and sore throat with 5-6mg eliquids. 5.5mg seems to be the sweet spot for me and I'm considering going down to 5mg once I go through my current eliquid supply in the next few weeks. This has been a game changer in my vaping experience. I'm finally off of analogs for good and feeling satisfied with exclusively vaping.

I have the NN Smooth nic salts, and experimenting with it in a Myjet pod at high nic - 36 mg(that's what pods like the Myjet are designed for, like a Juul which has 45mg nic). It's a little scratchy at first vape, and I'm trying to figure out what to do to smooth it out when mixing my own juice (NETs and menthol/mints). I bought Mr Salt E Mint, its 45 mg nic salts mint flavor, high VG (not sure of ratio, but pretty thick), it was a tad strong, so I toned it down to 36 mg by mixing with NN 24 mg nic (pg), and its smooth. I need to find out what additives they use to smooth Mr Salt E out in flavors and additives. The NN nic salts Smooth has a little itch to my throat on first vape as I stated, yet 24 mg NN regular nic does not, so not sure I'm seeing a big difference.

I've always gotten my nic from NN and I've always been satisfied with it but I'm wondering..... if "Signature" is a mix of "Hit" and "Smooth" then I wonder how it would be different from their normal nic?

Nic salt is absorbed (for lack of a better word) better than regular nic, so even with the same throat hit, the nic absorbed into the body would be better with the nic salt. That is the way I understand it, someone correct me if I am wrong. Hope that helps. :)

I have been using ..... NicSalt Hit version as I actually really enjoy a throat hit however it is still very smooth. It's actually smoother then some reg nicotine I have tried lol... As to the salts though they are great I use a 24mg blend in my icare and it's perfect for me and I have even started using the NIC salt in my MTL rigs in a 18mg solution and I feel it's satisfying my NIC craving better then regular nicotine. My only issue is it's a bit expensive and I am currently trying to find some bulk NicSalt at a competitive price I will update thread if I find a good deal

I've been using NN Smooth salts for about 4 months now and my experience matches yours, I get a little scratchyness in my throat with Signature so I'm sticking with the Smooth. It does have a flavor I attribute to oxidation that's not unlike tobacco, but when I mix it in my Ice Peppermint Diy it's not noticeable just smooth icy mint. And it's perfect for mixing my NET extracts. Vape it in Myjet pods usually and get the best flavor since I've been vaping!
