HI there, i've been vaping for about 4 months now... and have been a smoker for about 20 years. Only recently about 2 weeks ago, i've been having fast heartbeat, tight chest feelings, breathlessness, slight numbness on left face, nausea etc. I went to the hospital and did chest xrays, ecg, blood test's etc and all came out fine. All the doc could say was maybe i have acid reflux but i don't really think so. At that point of time, i did not think it had anything to do with ecigs but now whenever i vape 3-5 puffs(15mg-18mg mostly but was vaping on 12mg when symptoms started) the tight chest feelings and everything else comes. i have tried VG/pg juices and all seems to be the same.

It could not be nicotine withdrawal as in the past i have gone without analogs for months , even 3 years(had no choice or access). I drink way more water than i usually do and i know it's nothing to do with dehydration as well. I am really getting worried what could be wrong. But i can pin point that it's due to ecigs. If i have had any allergy to pg or vg , in the 4 months i would have known about it. This only started 2 weeks back. i even chain vaped as i was trying out so many juices and DIY stuffs as well. All that time i was doing good. i'm not on any medications as well and i've never had any allergy in my life before.

I was really happy that i found something that could keep me away from analogs but now i'm upset that i am not able to vape. It could also not be nicotine overdose as i'm only taking few puffs each time. I really dont want to go back to analogs and i have invested alot on ecigs. I just wish i can figure out what the problem is... Now i am in a situation where i could not vape and thinking of getting analogs( do not want to do that). Does anybody have any idea what could be wrong?

I thought I would share this with you. However, you state that it occurs after a few puffs. Could your eliquid be mislabeled? I had a similar experience with a nic od from mislabeled nicotine.

Try some 0mg/ml e-liquid and see if you get a similar response. Please follow up with your primary doctor if your symptoms do not improve.

HI thank you for sharing that, but i have tried many other juices in the past 2 weeks including boba's bounty(100% vg) and pluid and others... all gives me same results. If it's nicotine overdose, i would have felt or got this symptoms earlier as this symptoms just started about 2 weeks ago :(

Are you allergic to pluid or citrus? New equipment? So many variables.....its hard for a stranger (me) to help you. Good luck!

Met a guy when I first started vaping that said he could not Vape any PG juices and could only Vape 100% VG juices because PG made him have a tight chest. Also met a woman that could not Vape cartomizers because she would get a tight chest and she could only use clearomizers. I suggest you try 100% VG juices if you haven't already. If that doesn't help and you are using cartomizers, then try clearos. I hope you can figure it out. It does seem some people are sensitive to different things.

Hope your ok, speaking from experience I have ARD acid reflux disease, and I those same exact symptoms several times a year it took me several years actually to accept it and many Zantac Roland's tums etc. not saying u have ARD so get another opinion. It's scary and feels like a heart attack. It's wierd how gas and acid can have such a profound effect on us.

I'd go get a second opinion. Those symptoms are usually linked to illness, sometimes serious ones. It's great that you had healthy blood test and chest xrays results, but with symptoms like that, something in those tests should've helped them diagnose the problem unless it's anxiety/panic attack related (similar symptoms). Perhaps vaping isn't the reason but it exacerbates an underlying condition. I hope you feel better soon :(

thank you guys for the kind help and support... I have been using the same device all the time ( orion and ihybrid) all this time and till 2 weeks ago everything was fine. Have tried pg / vg in different ratios and still does not help. And i have vaped pluid in the past and had no issues with it. in fact i visited the hosp 2 times, and on the 2nd visit the doctor told me he could not really see anything wrong with me and could only guess it was acid reflux. But even if it's acid reflux, i'm not able to vape more than 5-6 puffs before i get the symptoms. I hope i could really figure this out. I refuse to admit that it's ecigs that is causing me this symptoms ... but it only happens when i vape

A couple of points here, so you'll need to do some investigation.

People can develop allergies to certain products over the course of time. I developed an allergy to a particular clothes detergent, but only after several months and after having washed pretty much everything in the house in it. Try vaping plain pg, then plain vg, see if the symptoms persist.

A month or two after I was able to cut out all cigarettes I found I was getting all the signs of too much nicotine. I had been vaping at same 18 mg since I started, but decided to try a lower percentage. I cut my juice down to 16 and then 14 mg at which point the symptoms stopped. The only thing I could figure out is that I didn't need nearly as much nicotine with vaping as I did with smoking. Since then I've had to cut down twice more and am now at 10 mg. I'm not sure why it happens, or even if it has happened to anyone else, but try cutting your nicotine back to below the lowest you've been getting symptoms at and see if it helps.

As others said if you continue to have problems see another doctor.

What helped me cut my nic is using alcohol based organic extracts so I still get strong throat hit. I had a hard time because I need TH. some people have had luck using Flash to add to their juices for added TH. you can google it. I think you can also add a very tiny amt of pure grain alcohol also. I'm finally down to 8 mg nic and very satisfied.

Some of those symptoms happen to me if I chain at 1ohm or less, trying to stay at 1.3-5 now. Did your coils/ wicks change?

No it's the same setup all this while.. nothing has changed. I have not gone below 1ohms so i'm not sure if it would affect me . Just for some strange reason, it just went away. Trying to figure out what could have happened...
