First off, I hope you're feeling better!!! Secondly, please know
I AM NOT A MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL!!! So please keep that in mind when you read this!!
I don't mean to scare you or give you a quick cure all and I may be way off base here, but I did some poking around for info. Based on the flavors you mentioned, (Boba's Bounty and Pluid), I was able to come up with some copycat clone recipes. One of the things they
both had in them was absinthe flavoring. (Can't vouch for the genuine article since I have never tried them nor do I have them.) Now... absinthe flavoring contains anise star oil. Which of course, started me on a search for allergic reactions to ingestion (yes inhalation is ingestion, it get's into the system right?) of anise oil and this is what I found....
***Orally administered anise supplements may cause moderate to severe allergic reactions of the digestive and respiratory tracts. Such reactions may induce nausea, vomiting, ........,
wheezing or shortness of breath. A severe allergy to anise oil may cause pulmonary edema, a life-threatening side effect in which fluid accumulates in the lungs. Ingesting anise oil may also cause seizures in certain people. Anyone who experiences these side effects upon exposure to anise should seek emergency medical care immediately. Left untreated, a severe allergic reaction can be fatal.
It's from the Livestrong website
http://www.livestrong.com/article/393739-what-are-the-side-effects-of-anise. (I just googled allergic/side affects for anise.) Now, the pluid recipe I found uses lots of absinthe and it's here in the diy forum section. (I'd link it but I don't know how to do that for in-site links.) The Boba's bounty recipe I found using a google search on e cig vapers forum.
Not saying this is your issue since I don't know what else you were vaping but I would definitely NOT vape anything with any anise in it. At least not until you've ruled out the possibility that this is the cause. If you're unsure, ask the juice maker if there's any in it. Also, please bear in mind that an allergic reaction to something can develop over time and yes, it can be an acute reaction. (Meaning you had it before, no prob, this week, not so much!) Also, varying forms of the same allergen levels and contact may or may not trigger responses. For example, I cannot eat shellfish due to an allergy yet I can handle it during food prep for someone else and accidental ingestion of small amounts won't make me run for the benadryl. But as I age, my sensitivity has increased.
Definitely try the unflavored vape juice when you decide you want to give it another try. (Maybe try a pg heavy mix as suggested on another shortness of breath thread here.) Give your body a week or so to send you any signals and then maybe only add one flavor a week in. Hope this helps, again I'm not a doc and I don't want you to think I'm qualified to say this is what is wrong when I don't know. Just thought I'd share what I found so you have another avenue for your Doc to investigate. Good luck and feel better soon!
I just came across another article on wikpedia regarding diacetyl... Make sure
NONE of your stuff has this in it. Apparently it is in some flavorings.. This is very nasty nasty stuff!!!!!
